A point system is great if it works. If only a select few get to take advantage of it then it isn’t a great system. If they take it away it will effect those who get to use it not those that never do.

I have 140 points, it’s going to take me forever and a day to get enough points to redeem something. I buy those daily deals all the time, even like four a weeks sometimes, it’s crazy, I would like to earn points for that stuff to, so maybe I would get a chance to get something.
Just my thoughts for my stuff……
It frustrates me when I see good things pop up for redemption and there isn’t a snow balls chance in hell I can get something.

There was an influx of complaints on Ipsy’s Facebook, Instagram and twitter for a period of a month or two and all day, every day large amounts of people ranted and raved that Points Items were selling out too quickly, that it was impossible to redeem…they were all over the place and couldn’t be reasoned with. I tried pointing out that Ipsy was the only subscription in this price range to give out points for extras without spending more money (a la Play for the pass) and got my head bitten off. Well, now they’ve all been quieted because points items have been adjusted so that it “costs” more and takes longer to redeem for a perk/bonus item (that it what points items are…just a nice bonus for reviews that help us anyway, and promoting on FB that’s easily deleted or fixed in your privacy settings) and so NOW the complaint switches to “the points are to too high for everything” and my new fear is that soon there will be no points program at all.

I agree with you 100% No one is ever happy! The complaints caused Ipsy to raise points to double what is needed from what it used to be. Ruining it for those of us who were able to get great items for 250 and under! Now complaints about high point value will probably cause IPSY to get rid of “FREE BONUS” gifts! altogether. People seem to forget these are a free bonus items, like the lottery sometimes you “win” and sometimes you don’t.

I noticed the same thing and feel the exact same way, soon they will say fine, no points!

I agree with your thoughts so much. Yes, you used to be able to redeem something for fewer points, but that just meant that item sold out within minutes!

Is it me, or are the point amounts higher than they used to be, to redeem products? I thought you used to be able to redeem items for 100 or 200 points?

I was just thinking that. I LOVE that Befine scrub..but…500 points? Common. That’s crazy.

Nope. I noticed it too. 500 points for a single sheet mask?! Ridiculous considering a full sized Estée Lauder foundation was 750 points. Since points expire, this makes it difficult to save up enough to redeem on reviews alone.

Man. I’m glad I used my points on the Este Lauder foundation last month….
