Disney Princess PleyBox
4.4 overall rating

This is the first ever official Disney Princess Subscription Box! Pley teamed up with Disney to create this bimonthly subscription box for kids. Each box includes 4-8 Disney products (apparel, accessories, toys, etc.).

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

The Box: Disney Princess PleyBox

The Cost: $24.99 + $5 Shipping (Box ships every other month)

The Products: Each magical box contains: 4-8 official Disney products (apparel, figurines, fashion accessories and goodies!), a magazine with a princess story and activities, and most charmingly a DYI activity of transforming the shipping box into a playable scene (for example, the box transforms into an elaborate castle that your child can build and then color-in). The retail value of the items in the box is ~$50

Keep Track of Your Subscriptions: Add this box to your subscription list or wishlist!

Check out all of our Disney Princess Pley Box reviews, too!

Each box comes with an activity book.

Complete with instructions to turn your box into a tower! (FYI - kids will likely need help with this.)

Now, on to the goodies!

Rapunzel Wand - Value $14.95

I didn't know Rapunzel had a wand! (Apparently, this debuted in the tv series but wasn't in the movie.)

This wand has a translucent, light-up topper inspired by Rapunzel's magical ''healing flower.''

The jewel is the button to turn it on:

Press the button and it lights up!

Tangled Figure Playset - Retail Value $14.95

This set includes 6 figures that measure up to 4 inches tall.

Rapunzel and Pascal

Cassandra

Given how small these figures are, the paint job is pretty impressive!

Varian

Flynn Rider

Maximus

Fidella

Tangled Paint Set - Value $12.95

This paint set is the most impressive item in the box. The hardcover canvas exterior is well made (with the exception of the magnetic closure that wasn't working for me), and the illustrations are gorgeous!

And it's a paint set that doesn't require water!

Here is what the paint pens look like in action:

The art folio on the left holds your artwork, and on the right, you have a notepad.

And each paint pen has an elastic band holder, too.

And lastly, here's a look at the finished tower:

(Make sure to color this set before putting it together!)

Verdict: This box has a value of about $43. (I'm not assigning any value to the tower/box, but I think it is a great bonus activity.) The cost is $29.99, so I think that value is good for $40+ worth of Disney items. (Everything is official Disney Store merchandise.)

These are going to my friend's daughters to enjoy, and now I need to rewatch Tangled! (Also - I just learned from a Buzzfeed listicle that Rapunzel and Flynn made a cameo in Frozen! Better rewatch that, too!)

Season

I was so excited to see the Princess for the the month of July. My daughter loves Tangled. Unfortunately, they NEVER shipped out the box. I contacted costumer service about it. Said it would ship with a few days. 2 weeks later, I still didn’t have the box. So I contacted them again. Some how I got dropped of the replacement list. So, again they said it would ship. That was 10 days ago. Finally just asked for a refund and will be canceling any future boxes.

I’m thinking about ordering this box for my daughter, but she is 16 (she has Down Syndrome), and I don’t know if any of the apparel comes in her size. I realize this box is geared for younger children; Rebecca still loves playing with her Disney dolls….

Hi Teresa,

Ali is right, unfortunately the largest size we currently offer is a youth large as this is what is available to us.

Hi Teresa,

Ali is correct, unfortunately the largest size we currently offer is a youth large 🙁

Ali

oops – make that body length 22.5″ – type-o on my part!

Ali

Looks like on their sizing chart they go up to a Youth Size L – which fits 17″ chest and a 33.5″ body length. Hope that’s helpful! If the tshirt doesn’t fit, maybe your daughter could gift it to a friend and enjoy the rest of the contents herself – ? Just a suggestion.

Do they offer ways to buy previous boxes if you missed out? Like little mermaid or beauty and the beast?

Reply ButtonReply

Ali

Yes! They do now offer an opportunity to purchase the past boxes – but they only have limited quantities, so better move on it if you are interested!

This was the first box that felt didn’t put together as well as teh previous two. The tower just seemed way to wobbly.

We’re so sorry to hear about this! I wonder if maybe a piece is off? Here’s a link to a video on how to build the tower. https://www.pley.com/video/princess

Ora

Is this scene/artwork on the inside of the box? Since from the first photos, it just looks white.

Ally N

Hi Ora,

The pieces to build the tower are included separately inside the box.

Kris

I wish Disney would make a boys subscription box! I would definitely subscribe for my son! I’ve been looking for a good boys box, but I really haven’t found anything for a 5 year old.

Hey Kris – this same company makes a sweet National Geographic Kids box – boy or girl appropriate. Check it out: https://www.pley.com/national-geographic

Hi Ally N

I finally got around to opening this box with my daughter last week. The wand, however, is broken (it will not light up). At first, we thought it was the batteries, aside from the screw being stripped. We got new batteries for it this weekend and determined that it is broken and will not work. Is there a way to get a replacement? (And yes, we tried holding down the battery lid down, nothing worked)

Thank you

Stacy

I know I’ve been looking for a good boys box so I can get my daughter something like this. I can’t get one something and not the other! It would a great present that’s different.

Christine

I’m impressed how this box always find a creative way to repurpose the box into a themed toy.

If I was a kid, I could see myself enjoy playing with all this.
