Now, onto the items!

Pure Cosmetics Contour Kit - Value $30

This kit comes with 3 highlighting shades (2 shimmer and 1 matte) and 3 contour shades (matte).

The palette is fairly large and there is a lot of space between the pans. I like that I can run a fluffy brush over one shade without hitting another. It is best to start with a small amount of product and build up because blending can prove to be tricky with the darker shades. A full contour is a step I typically don’t get to on a normal morning, but just the highlighters alone will make this kit worth carrying.

Korres Twist Lipstick Dramatic - Value $17

I love this lipstick! It is in my favorite shade family, berry, and super easy to apply. The texture is smooth and it doesn’t have any tackiness at all. My lips feel hydrated and it lasts through drinking coffee even though it isn’t a long-wear formula. And, it wears off evenly without leaving splotches.

Appeal Cosmetics Lustre Drops 18k - Value $29

This is the most intense highlighting liquid I’ve ever used! Thankfully, it is easy to blend.

The bottle has a dropper, and you really only need a drop at most. You can mix it in with your foundation or moisturizer for an all over glow or you can blend it into areas you want to highlight. It is very pretty applied to the inner corners of the eye and really gives a pop of brightness. Because a little goes a long way, it is great for highlighting your décolletage or even your legs when you want to bring a little attention to them.

Naked Cosmetics Single Pod Pigment Eyeshadow Desert Sunset #02 - Value $14.99

So pretty! This eyeshadow is like magic. When I apply it, it somehow looks like two different shades. It has a perfect shimmer for the lid and seems to darken in my crease. For me, it is the perfect everyday shade and it looks glam when paired with a dark liner. I think it would double as a highlighter too.

Synthetic Short Angle Contour Brush 617 - Value $16.95

This brush has short, dense synthetic bristles that have the perfect angle for precise application. I used it to apply the contour kit above. Well, I should say I started to use it and ended up switching to a fluffy brush. If you like a very distinct contour, this would be perfect for you. I like a very subtle contour, so I needed another brush to blend out. I think it would be perfect for applying masks and cream also.

Items swatched from top to bottom: Korres lipstick, Lustre Drops, and Naked Cosmetics eyeshadow. I blended out some of the Lustre Drops to the left of the swatches and you can see it will blend out to whatever level of intensity you would like.

This month’s items really came together to make a nice look. I used the contour palette to contour and highlight my face and to highlight my brows and eyes. This video by Pure Cosmetics gives a tutorial on how they recommend using it. I used only the Desert Storm eye color included in the box for my eyes with a swipe of eyeliner and a coat of mascara. Finally, I applied some of the Korres lipstick (my favorite part). This look is just my style!

Verdict: This month’s Lola Beauty Box was a home run for me. I love the lipstick and eyeshadow! And, I’ll use everything else in the box. I was a little surprised about receiving all beauty items, but they were all high-value so I’m not disappointed. The value of this box is $107.94 with free shipping which 5x the cost of the box. I’m hoping for another great box next month.

I’m leaning towards this box after reading good customer service reviews, I had Glossybox for a few years but the customer service was awful and eventually I couldn’t take it anymore.

I love how you show us how you use the makeup and how it looks /works for you… I’m really interested in this sub box mainly because they claim to customize it to you. Tiffany, do they have you fill out a profile after signing up? If so, do you feel that the boxes are actually customized? I know that there’s a lot of negativity regarding their customer service team but I worked cs for 20+years before becoming disabled so I can usually navigate cs people pretty easily 😉

I subbed last Monday and I’ve emailed then twice to see when I’ll get my first box, since they pulled the money out immediately, asks I still haven’t been emailed back. Unfortunately their page says ‘non-refundable’ which really sucks. When I email Boxycharm I get a response within 12 hours. Lola’s customer service department needs to go to another seminar. They’re severely lacking.

Hey, the couple of times I had to email GlossyBox, it took them longer than a month to respond. Lola’s CS is wonderful by comparison. 😃

Sephora always takes weeks to respond as well. I emailed them two weeks ago because I was charged twice & recieved an email about the play boxes being out of stock (which upset me because I’ve recieved play for almost a year now) and haven’t heard a peep. Got my box tho so it’s cool!

So true! Glossybox customer service is the worst! 💩💩

JuJu

Btw, you just received the August box in September?

That’s a nice color lipstick, I’ll see if I can get it…

What a great box. Everything looks great on you, and you look so pretty with straight hair.

This is no where near as good as boxy. Their cs is horrible & very condescending. The products themselves, cheaper and lesser known. No competition. Spend your $21 wisely.

If we sub now, will this be our first box, or will it be Sept?

Their customer service. Is poor at best and i did not like the attitude i got when asking for the box i paid for. I cancelled.

Looks great, but where’s the skincare and hair care that they claim is in the boxes also?

Wanna be boxy? Even the same price.

Wow this is in competition with boxycharm. All full size and great curation. I might just try it. Thank you!

Katy

I think so too. Lol has the potential to really give Boxycharm a run for it’s money.

Thanks for showing how the makeup actually looks like on a face! I love the lip color and your brown eyes are beautiful!
