This subscription comes with an info card showing all the Loot Wear items for the month. This month's theme was "Robotic":
Now, on to the item! Liz isn't a huge Star Trek fan, so I stepped in to review this month:
Exclusive Star Trek:TNG Boyfriend Cardigan
I've seriously thought about buying similar sweaters in the past, so I am loving this design!
This "command gold" boyfriend cardigan is long, more of a tunic-length fit, but it's not super oversized. Just big enough to be comfy (like a boyfriend sweater should be!) but with nicely fitted arms. This has got a sweet embroidered insignia, too, making it look pretty official.
And how exactly does this fit this month's "Robotic" theme?
Because Data, of course!
Although a few people wanted to know why this sweater had "a vampire cuddling a cat" on the back, I thought the Data and Spot illustration by Anna-Maria Jung was instantly recognizable for any fan of The Next Generation. It definitely made me think part of Data's infamous poem, Ode to Spot:
I find myself intrigued by your subvocal oscillations,
A singular development of cat communications
That obviates your basic hedonistic predilection
For a rhythmic stroking of your fur to demonstrate affection.
Here it is modeled! I am on the short side (5'0") and usually wear a medium women's tee shirt, and I thought this medium sweater fit great. I love the length and find this fit of sweater to be super wearable in general.
Verdict: This is my first time checking out Loot for Her in person, and I have to say, I love the idea of a non-t-shirt geeky apparel subscription! There are similar sweaters without the screenprint on the back sold on other sites for much more than the $14.99 price of this subscription, so this is also a total steal. (I found one on Amazon and a sold out one on ThinkGeek that originally retailed for $49.99.)
Plus you can use code SAVE3 to save $3 off your first month, and this theme is still available until September 19th at midnight EST if you love this design!
