Ipsy is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. For $14 per month, you get five full-sized or deluxe-sized products, plus a cute makeup bag.

This is one of our top recommendations if you are looking for a subscription box — the value and sample sizes are amazing. Just like Birchbox, Ipsy sends out many different variations of their bag each month — so this review is for just one of the bag variations you might receive!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes).

First Impressions

One of my favorite things about the Ipsy Glam Bag is the excitement of discovering each month’s new design. I’ve been a subscriber for years, and the fun, creative styles (along with the amazing products) keep me coming back for more. To celebrate the arrival of July, we received a marbled pink and blue bag with a small round zipper pull. While a bit more neutral than some of the recent designs, it’s still pretty and makes a great travel case!

Also included is a product card featuring the "Hot Glow Summer" theme, details about this month's bag contents, and a sneak peek at the upcoming sneak peek highlights!

Now, on to the items!

V Kosmetik Duo Lip Liner in Reve Nude + Delice - FULL SIZE - Retail Value $28

The first item I received was a full-sized, dual-tipped lip liner featuring two different shades—perfect for lip contouring and definition. The formula was creamy, easy to apply, and had a decent wear time. While I generally prefer longer-lasting lip products, I did appreciate the color payoff. I followed the application tip included in our pamphlet of using the darker shade along the outer edges of my lips and the lighter shade in the center, and I really liked the results when paired with a colored gloss. Overall, it wasn't the most exciting item in the box, but the value was impressive, and I genuinely liked the shades.

REALHER Long Lasting Makeup Collagen Setting Spray - Estimated Value $15.00

I'll be honest, the next item I received was a setting spray, and I wasn’t all that excited about it. Last month, I discovered a prep-and-set aerosol mist that I absolutely fell in love with and now use every day, so I didn’t really feel the need for another one so soon. That said, this version is a bit different, incorporating a collagen boost to help plump and hydrate the skin. It does leave a dewy finish, which I enjoy—just not as much as last month’s mist. I was also a little disappointed to receive such a similar product two months in a row, but I will say it held my makeup in place, even in the summer heat. I'm definitely good on setting sprays for a while now, Ipsy!

BENEFIT COSMETICS Hoola Matte Powders Bronzer in Hoola - Deluxe Sample - Estimated Value $8.10

The next item I received was a deluxe sample of Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Powder Bronzer in the classic Hoola shade. While I love the color and the formula, I really disliked the packaging as it came as a small pan with no cover. I understand it’s a sample, but having to store it in a baggie in my makeup bag makes it inconvenient and messy to use. That said, the bronzer itself is beautiful, creating a subtle, sun-warmed glow that's great for contouring and sculpting. It was a nice addition to my routine, but I just wish the packaging had been a bit more user-friendly.

ALAMAR COSMETICS Plumping Lip Water in Agua Fresca - Estimated Value $14.00

Lip products are definitely some of my favorites to receive, and this lip water was amazing. Designed to plump, it has a thick, gel-like texture with a slight minty tingle and it smells divine! Perfect as a sheer gloss that hydrates while adding a bit of volume, it was a fun and enjoyable addition to the bag.

SKIN & CO ROMA Truffle Therapy Micro-Exfoliating Face Gommage - Estimated Value $3.73

The last item was my choice item. My skin has been a little temperamental at 37, so I was definitely in need of a good face gommage. This truffle exfoliant has a gentle grit and a light almond scent. It’s a great way to cleanse the skin and create a soft, supple base. After just one use, my skin felt noticeably renewed. It’s both cleansing and nourishing and I’m definitely planning to buy the full-size version!

Verdict

I love the Ipsy Glam Bag and always look forward to trying out new beauty products. While I have my go-to brands, I'm always excited for the chance to discover something new! This month, I received five interesting items that all fit seamlessly into my daily makeup routine. While the face gommage and lip liner were my favorites, I also enjoyed the setting spray, bronzer, and lip water. For just $14, I got to explore some new skincare and makeup brands—and it felt like a mini skin makeover! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the August curation. What do you think it’ll include?
