New Subscription Boxes Alert! Candle Voyage - A Subscription Box for Candle Lovers!

A subscription box for candles - I'm a little surprised this didn't already exist!

The Box: Candle Voyage

The Cost: $25 a month plus 2.95 shipping

The Products: 6 artisan candles (3 full size and 3 sample size)

I'm pretty intrigued by Candle Voyage. Most full size candles usually cost around $20 to $25, so to get three full size and three sample candles for that price sounds like a great value. Interested in receiving the October box? Make sure to order by 9/30!

The two CONSISTENT must have boxes for me as far as pampering items which are usually not cosmetics are Hammmockpack.com and Yuzen.com. Both Hammock Pack and Yuzen’s boxes are in the $25 range and have a spa feeling to them. I adore Hammock Pack most of all my 25+ box subscriptions per month.

The best beauty products can be found in BeautyBar.com Sample Society box ( and you get a year’s subscription to Allure magazine). The other one I always adore is Glossybox.com’s Glossybox. Both have premium brand products which I use regularly in full sizes.

Lots of younger women like Birchbox and Ipsy.com ( used to be MyGlam bag). I subscribe to both but can leave them or take them. I’ve already mentioned them and Starlooks.com’s Starbox. Starbox is my favorite Makeup Only box. Totally adore the people behind the brand too!!!

I didn’t like Beauty Army at all because the samples are usually very small, and the brands are usually cheaper quality. You may like it because at least you get to pick out your own things.

Most of the boxes labeled ” natural” or ” Organic” are not extremely good values or dependable, IMO. Conscious Box, Eco- Emi, and Goodebox fit into my personal category of ” unreliable contents”. KlutchClub is in its own separate category of ” horrid”, and the woman running it is a shrew.

The one with natural type products which was reliable and sent full sized products, Kara’s Way, is either our of business or may come back with new products sometime this fall.

You might REALLY enjoy a new natural brand for mothers and babies.. Honest Company’s box, which can be for you, for you and your baby, however you want to customize it. The baby- only box is around $69 a month for a lot of custom design diapers and things, and the Family Essentials box is $39 a month with body cleansers, lotions, shampoos, and laundry detergent suitable for mom and baby. A sampler from the Honest Company is around $10 and is packaged beautifully and arrives Fed Ex in one day. Well worth the money to try, and the products are all organic and safe for babies and adults too. I like their products, but they are not exactly ” luxurious” or ” pampering’ for a woman like makeup and skin care are. 🙂

Heather, I’m not Liz, but sometimes she doesn’t check back and read the replies. Starlooks.com has a fabulous Starbox every month for $15 a month. A yearly subscription would be appropriate for ANY age woman. The products are all full sized and always universally flattering makeup products. All of the boxes thus far have featured eye or lip products, and one blush, not foundation or powder. The box is very pretty as well and is wrapped in a ribbon like a gift. Inside, the box is also very nice with a pretty tissue paper fold over and usually, some of the items are wrapped in tissue paper for a luxe look. I’ve loved every Stgrbox and would have loved this subscription when I was 20, also. She will get a LOT for the money every single month.

Birchbox is hit or miss.. but sometimes does have youthful trendy things. $10 a month.
Ipsy.com ( formerly My Glam) is also a very nice, well priced subscription with lots of trendy type makeup, false lashes, etc. Also $10 a month. I’m sure there are discounts for a 6 month or yearly subscription gift.

Thanks so much for the feedback! I’m fairly new to the sub world and most of mine are child related so this is great to know for myself as well… Any other must have boxes I should check out myself? I just caved and ordered BeautyArmy.

What in your opinion would be the best box to gift to a 20yo girl who like makeup/skincare?

I love the idea, especially since they are hand made. But I too, want to know what size before I commit to that. There are candle clubs here and there but they are usually factory made candles. I’ll be curious to see what happens with this one.

If they had been savvy, they would have left off the shipping or added it to the cost of the box and kept silent about it. Added shipping on a box is my main complaint.

Also, I would like a definition of ” full size”. Because IF the candle holder chosen at Michael’s or another craft store is 3″ by 3″ and the candlemaker fills it with either wax or soy, it is, by definition, full sized.

I may spend my $27 on a huge, great smelling natural soy candle from DIAMOND CANDLES. Not only are their candles wonderful and smell heavenly, they each come with a wrapped, surprise ring inside. Some are high quality very expensive diamond rings, some are gemstone rings in 14 kt. gold, and some are sterling silver rings. I have opened one in my Diamond Candles and it was a sterling silver band ring with a pretty design. They were a Plum District daily deal not too long ago. You might want to look at http://www.diamondcandles.com before you decide on this brand new box with absolutely NO guidelines as to what constitutes a ” full size candle/”
