Joy The Baker for Lost Crates - October 2012 Review - Monthly Food Subscription Boxes

Sadly, this is the last Joy The Baker Lost Crate - at least for a while. Lost Crates has gone on hiatus and cancelled all subscriptions.

Joy The Baker for Lost Crates - October 2012 Review - Monthly Food Subscription Boxes

The Box: Joy The Baker for Lost Crates

The Cost: $25 plus $5 shipping

The Products: Joy the Baker pairs with cool, quirky companies and hand-selects unique gift packages for you. It could be a cool kitchen item. It could be something for to carry in your purse. It could be something for your garden. Whatever it is, each gift is designed to inspire an experience, in the kitchen or out in the world.

This month's box comes with a recipe card for Jam-Swirled or Brittle-Studded Blondie Brownies!

Sqirl Jam - Value $8

This jam is delicious and made from organic ingredients!  I'm so glad I found out about this brand.

Morning Glory Brittle in Chai Tea & Cashew and Fluer De Sel & Peanut - Value $12 total

Verdict: I am really going to miss Joy The Baker crates! They were a great way to discover new brands and recipes. What do you think of Lost Crates shutting down shop? Any subscriptions you will miss?

Psych You Out

I’ve never gotten a Lost Crates box and based on this box I don’t think I’d want to anyway. If I’m reading it correctly, the value of the items doesn’t even total what you spent on the box. :/

Liz,
Why don’t you try Fancy box? They ASK you to select 2 categories ( I only selected womens and asked them to please not send me any T shirts as I don’t wear T shirts).. Mens, Womens, Household, and Gadgets. From what I have seen, people get many items in the Fancy box, and their products are high quality surprises.
I really don’t think Lost Crates is coming back. I know you liked them, but I found them to be extremely quirky, both in the CS dept. and the items I received. I don’t do quirky very well, so I won’t miss Lost Crates at all.
IF they come back with more mainstream items of very high quality, I might join again.
