Starlooks Starbox February 2013 Review - Monthly Makeup Subscription Boxes

I think Starbox is the best subscription box if you only want full size makeup. This month was especially awesome with 4 full sized products!

This month's Starbox was a collaboration with makeup artist Lauren Clark.

The Box: Starbox

The Cost: $15 a month

The Products: 3-4 full size makeup products each month.

HD Fluid Blush in Barbie - Value $15

Infinity Liner in Princess Diaries - Value $15

I love that either one of these products is worth the cost of the box alone!

Lauren Clark for Starlooks Lip Pencil in Tipsy - Value $8

Lip Gloss Creme Brilliance in Pink Oasis - Value $11

Verdict: Wow - this box is worth nearly $50! Plus I like that this box came with an extra brochure for Lauren Clark including tutorials on how to try the makeup for different looks.

Full-sized samples and an inexpensive box are exactly what I am looking for—but wow, those colors. Every box is extremely pink or just not compatible with brown skin. I guess I will wait for customization to kick in.

OK, I’m not a whiner or a complainer or a Negative Nelly, I swear! But I found these colors to be highly unwearable. Maybe it’s because I’m knocking on the door of age 40, but woooooo! CLOWN FACE!

I put all this stuff on at once just for kicks and it looked like a Lisa Frank sticker album had exploded all over my face. (LOL I just totally dated myself.) But seriously, against my fair skin that bright pink blush looked like a hot mess – even when I used a microscopic drop of it – and the lip gloss was crazytown sparkly lavender on me. There’s just no way I could pull it off, but maybe I would have loved it if I were in my young 20s. Those were the good old days.

I LOVED the sizes though. Based on the sizes and the number of items, I think you get an AWESOME deal for your money with this box if the colors are for you.

I’ll see what my March box is like, but ATM it’s at the top of my list of boxes to cancel.

I really love that HD fluid blush. You barely need any because it’s so pigmented.
