Subscription Boxes for Moms - Mama's Got Mail Review July 2013

Mama's Got Mail is a relatively new subscription designed for moms to take some time out of their day once a month and focus on the activity and items included in that month's box. The founder of this subscription is a Counselor, so each month comes with items that help you explore a certain topic, plus a "Check In" worksheet. Mama's Got Mail kindly sent me this box to review!

This month's theme is Marriage & Stretch Marks. The box is full of items for you to assess your marriage and there's some stretch mark cream from Tia and Tamara too!

This month's worksheet is a house blueprint with marriage questions - pretty creative!

An example: Deck: Relax -- What do you & your man do to relax together?

Love Map Card Deck from the Gottman Institute - Value $15

My boyfriend and I have already tried a few of these, and so far we knew all the answers! There were a few questions that seemed a little too easy: "When is your partner's birthday?" but for the most part these cards were fun!

The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work - Value $15

From Shannon on why she included this book in this month's box:

"This is my favorite book on marriage. Honestly, it summed up a handful of my master's level couples therapy classes in one paperback book."

Olive and Sinclair Chocolate Bar - $6.99

I love that this chocolate bar only has three ingredients: cacao beans, brown sugar, and cacao butter!

Stretchy Stretch Mark Cream - 1 oz Value $4.50

It looks like Tia and Tamara now have a whole line of natural mom and baby products! (Their Milky! product showed up in a past Cotton Booty box!)

Verdict: I think Mama's Got Mail! is a totally different subscription from anything else I've seen, and I'm pretty impressed with it. I like that this box is more about self discovery and reflection, with a few fun goodies too. What do you think of Mama's Got Mail?

I am not affiliated with the subscription “Mama’s Got Mail”, but the name of my website is so similar! I have seen reviews of some her past boxes that I wouldn’t have enjoyed-but I do like the self discovery aspect of the box, as you say Liz. I would not be adverse to trying this box in the future, even with any name confusion. Thanks for sharing!

I am not a mom myself, however I don’t like the assumption that to be a mother you have to be married!

Yeah, not thrilled about the whole all moms are married idea. What about those of us that aren’t?

Yeah I’m a single mom and it would be quite disappointing to receive a box like the one above.
