Bespoke Post Review - Churchill Box December

Bespoke Post is our favorite men's subscription box (a lot of people on my list are getting subscriptions for their gift this holiday!). Each month you get to preview the new box or boxes released and pick a box or decide to skip that month. I always describe this box as a mini-lifestyle upgrade because every month you get to try out the best of something - whether it's new bar tools, the best dopp kit, or in this case, cigars!

My husband doesn't smoke cigars, but we have a friend who will love this box, so we bought it as a holiday gift.

Bespoke Post Review - Churchill Box Info

Each box comes with a card that details every item in the box.

They also usually include tips, interesting backgrounds of items, and other useful info!

Bespoke Post Review - Churchill Box Carrillo

E.P. Carrillo Exclusive Assortment Cigar Set (4) -Value $40

Glenfiddich Cigar Cutter - Value $3

I couldn't find exact values of these items since the cigar set is exclusive to Bespoke Post, but these are guesses based on similar products.

This is a gift so I didn't want to open the cigar set, but here is more info from Bespoke Post:

A 4-pack of limited-edition cigars (secured in Boveda humipacks to ensure freshness) worthy of this box’s British namesake. They’re ordered from mild to full-bodied by one of the original gangsters of the cigar world: Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr. He’s got tobacco in his blood -- both his father and grandfather made cigar creation their life’s work in Cuba. Now Ernesto runs the operation, using his 40+ years of experience to make critically acclaimed cigars from the Dominican Republic. Here’s the breakdown:

Edición Limitada 2013, Original Variant
This is the top of the line from E.P. Carrillo — which is saying a lot. With a San Andres wrapper and incredibly fine tobacco rolled inside, it’s a full-bodied smoke that’s deceptively smooth.

Edición Limitada 2013, Unreleased Variant
This is the same blend as the Edición Limitada 2013, but with a natural Ecuadorian wrapper so that you can see how greatly the flavor is re-shaped. It’s an unreleased special edition that’s only available at E.P. Carillo company events, and now we’re bringing it to you.

Inaugural Limitada 2009
An experimental wrapper leaf — a limited-edition hybrid of aged leaves with several different seeds - makes this one extra special.

Family Blend #809
A custom-made edition that the family enjoys for their personal use. It’s never been released to the public due to the limited availability of the tobaccos used in the blend.

Bespoke Post Review - Churchill Box Lighter Stick

Cedar Spills - Value $4?

I didn't know this, but apparently cigars should be lit slowly with spills instead of with a lighter.

Bespoke Post Review - Churchill Box Ashtray

Reclaimed Wood Ashtray - Value $50?

This piece is one of a kind and really exceptional. It's also much larger than I expected (hence the quarter to show scale!)

Bespoke Post Review - Churchill Box Den Candle

The Den Exclusive Bespoke Post Candle - Value $20?

I'm never good at describing scent, but I love the smell of this candle. I think Den is a very appropriate name. Bespoke Post lists the aroma as including: dry wood, tobacco, and leather.

And it fits perfectly in the ashtray - which doubles as a candle holder!

Verdict: Most of the products in this month's box weren't available online, so I'm guessing at the value, but everything included is extremely well-made and definitely worth more than the $45 we paid for the box. (I'm estimating the value to be about $115). I think it's actually great that I can't find these items online - it adds to the exclusivity of the box!

I'm really pleased with the Churchill box and can't wait to gift it! What Bespoke Post box did you get for December?

(FYI - you can still order Bespoke Post boxes or Gift Cards and have them delivered by the 24th!)

Sometimes they bring back boxes if the demand is high enough. I’ll post if they bring this one back – it seems very popular! 🙂
