Julep Speckled for Spring Mystery Box

Even though I have tons of Julep nail polish, I can almost never resist buying a Julep Mystery box, and this month I caved for the Speckled for Spring Mystery Box!

Julep Speckled for Spring Mystery Box Review Items

The Box: Julep Speckled For Spring Mystery Box

The Cost: $24.99 with free shipping for Mavens

The Products: $100 or more of nail polish/beauty items.

FYI - If you haven't signed up for a Julep Maven subscription yet, use coupon code FREEBOX to get your first box free!

Julep Speckled for Spring Mystery Box Review Speckled

Julep Nail Color in Kimberly -Value $14

Julep Nail Color in Catrina - Value $14

Julep Nail Color in Lois - Value $14

For the last mystery box I went with the 100% Mystery Box, but this time I decided to pick the polish I wanted, and I'm glad I did - I love the speckled purple Kimberly polish!

Polish

Julep Nail Color in Farrah - Value $14

Julep Nail Color in Karen - Value $14

Julep Nail Color in Dakota - Value $14

The Dakota color feels a little like an autumn color me me, but I love the shimmery peach Karen polish!

Julep Speckled for Spring Mystery Box Review Mascara

Julep Boho Glam Lengthening Mascara - Value $24

I would have preferred to have received a bath or body item over this mascara since I've sampled it before and it isn't my favorite - oh well!

Verdict: I paid $17.49 for this box (I used coupon code PERK30 when it was still working) and I received over $100 worth of products. Some of these shades are duplicates for me, but I still think the value of  aJulep Mystery box is great. (I definitely recommend it if you are new to Julep and need to build out your collection!)

What did you get in your Speckled for Spring Mystery Box?

PERK30 seems to still be working! Love your site, Liz!

Boxes like the speckled spring is why I cancelled this sub. Should be called Edgar Allen Poe, as each color is acceptable for Halloween.
I received Lois in every other box as well.

The coupon codes did not work for me 🙁 However for $24.99 it was a good deal. – If only I liked most the products it would have been a better deal.

I ordered the Spring Emerson box.

So much for spring…welcome to the box of grey and gloomy.:(. …. That was my first impression and still have the same impression looking at the grey crinkled up paper.

First thing I noticed is the grey paper, grey is not a spring color that I’m aware of. Pink, Purple, Light Blue, Yellow. Those are the colors when I think of Spring. Not bla,, grey.

My box has: the hand scrub. This one I’m excited to use. The Lip vernis in peony, not sure if I’m going to even use that, have not even opened it yet, the mirror like finish, does not sound like something I’d use.
Also has the nail polished of: Josephine, Tatalana, and 3 speckled: Max, Yumi, and Emerson. Also got 1 free sample of skin serum.

The 3 speckled nail polishes are interesting, yet out of the 3 I like the Yumi best.

Also included which made me smile is “Forget Me Not Seeds. ” It was a great suprise in the box. even though the pack is little, it was the most special out of all the items. I can see myself planting a few seeds in small pots and giving them as gifts.

Out of all the stuff in the box, I like the Yumi nail polish, forget me not seeds and the handscrub the best.

Not sure if I want another mystery box after this one. Even though the value is great. To much stuff I cant see myself using.
….

If anyone is interested in doing a trade let me know, I’d consider trading any / all of the above items except the Yumi nail polish, forget me not seeds and the hand scrub. None of the items have been opened / and none have been tested. Just know from looking at the colors and the description they are not ones I like.

This was my first mystery box. I went with the 100% mystery and expected at least ONE spring shade. Everything is dark and winter like. I got three polishes I’ve already received in previous boxes and a couple foil packages of hand scrub and treatment. Also the lip primer and a lip gloss in an incredibly dark brown shade (I’ll never wear it). I’m pretty disappointed in the box overall and wish I had went with one of the boxes to get one of the speckled polishes. Unfortunately, Everything will go on the swap site for me…

I went with the 100% mystery box and got Kendra
Dahlia, Daria, Claudette, Blank Canvas Plumping lip primer,
Lip Vernis in Zinnia, Single package Nail Moisture Mask,
Sample foil of Glycolic Hand Scrub.

I agree the colors weren’t as spring themed as I was expecting – mine seem more like fall and winter shades. Also I was kind of surprised that the 100% mystery didn’t include a speckled polish (this was the “speckled for spring” box, right?), but I had my chance and went with the risky option so I’m not too concerned about it. I already had Claudette from a maven box I got last year but the rest were all new polishes for me. I don’t really like the lip primer but I’ve already opened it and tried it out so no real hope of giving it to anyone. The nail mask was cool but smelled funky – great concept, but could use a better fragrance! The lip gloss is nice, and I’m interested in trying the hand scrub but I hate it when they throw in foil pack samples instead of a decent sized trial bottle/tube.

I got the exact same box as you! I love all of the colors except Claudette, but like you I think they are all more suitable for fall.

I was really excited about my box until I started putting things away after I searched everything and realized I had four polishes that I already received in my monthly boxes ( bummer) this was my first mystery box and I got the major addon as well. I guess I thought there would be some of the newer colors included but these were all of the older shades. I probably won’t get another mystery box 🙁

I got emerson and at first i was a little disappointed that i got the same hand scrub that i got last months mystery box…however it is something i will use so not a waste and polish wise i only got 1 dup which is fantastic! i also really like the lipgloss i got so this was a really good mystery box for me. i know alot of these are not spring colors but i did pick up 4 fun spring colors with my april box. all in all pretty happy with this one!

I just wanted to give Julep’s customer service a shout-out, and this seems like a good place. I decided to cancel my regular subscription, since I’ve had it since July and have only ever order 3 other months during that time (the rest were Mystery Boxes). I’ve always heard that cancelling an account is impossible, but within 2 minutes of calling I was connected to the service rep, who then canceled my account and sent me a confirmation email. This absolutely wins MAJOR points in my book and has definitely left the door open for a possible re-subscription in the future.

So this is my 1st time ordering a Mystery box and probably the last. I’m disappointed with a lot of the colors. They are not for Spring/Summer and I have a feeling that not many people enjoy most of these colors. They would attract only a small audience.

Kimberly Mystery Box
Kimberly – YES!
Catrina
Lois – Maybe
Farrah- Yes
Dakota
Karen – Yes
Boho Glam Lengthening Mascara in Espresso Brown – I’m picky with mascara since all of them flake under my eyes except my recent find from Tarte.

100% Mystery
Kendra
Dahlia
Daria – Maybe
Claudette – Maybe
Blank Canvas Plumping lip primer – Giving to my mom
Lip Gloss in Zinnia – I don’t wear anything on my lips but might try this as the color is nice
Single package Nail Moisture Mask
Sample foil of Glycolic Hand Scrub

Major Speckled Mystery Add-on
mini Freedom Polymer – Already a fan, so a nice win for me
Lucy – Maybe. Looks deep brown with a hint of red (BBQ sauce?)
Vera
Francis – Yes. Possibly my favorite of the entire order except Kimberly
Sample foil of Luxe Car hand cream

I loved the make-up box from February, I wish they would do another one of those! I didn’t get this one because my March box really did feel, like someone else said, “leftovers”. Terrible colors that no one else would want, a weird neon glitter kit and the one pretty green.

I’m way to chicken to go 100% mystery. And now I’m glad I didn’t.

Wow, mine was better for once. I got 3 special effects polishes, 5 total, and none were dupes. I also got a glycolic acid hand peel and a full size lip gloss. I paid the same using Perk 30. I was thrilled with the mystery box!

I agree, this is disappointing. I got sucked into the idea of a fun spring box based on the speckle that I so desperately wanted to have. I regret not getting Emerson because its box at least had the Glycolic scrub that I have been wanting to get. I should have just waited and bought the Kimberly and Emerson with a coupon code. I would have saved money, not gotten a dupe, and been able to purchase colours I wanted. I also had no desire to try their mascara because I have not heard good reviews. Bummer of a box, and I even had to pay full price. I came in at the time that the code went out because it registered then I added something to the box and it wouldn’t take the code after that.

Julep, not impressed this time at all.

I also got this box, but I did the mystery add-on large ($18.99), but I had a 50% off coupon code from my first box and it worked! I only paid like $21 and got the same box but with an additional four polishes a mini clear and some forget me not flower seeds. I thought it was a good value for $21, but the colors weren’t very “spring-Y”

I got the 100% mystery box and received 5 polishes, the Zinnia lip gloss and “Blank Canvas Plumping Lip Primer”. It was disappointing for me as 4 of the 5 polishes were on sale on Julep’s website so the value of the box was no where near $100.

I am going to be so sad, if this is what I get too. I ordered the same box and I most of the colors from the previous Maven sub and mystery boxes. I wish they would add some of their other products in the mystery boxes…instead what it feels like left over products.
