Fancy Food Subscription Box Review - August 2014 Card Sweets

Each Fancy Food box comes with a card detailing each item included, and some recipe ideas.

Fancy Food Subscription Box Review - August 2014 Card Pizza

This month there were two cards: one for pizza ingredients, and one for sweet treats!

Fancy Food Subscription Box Review - August 2014 Pizza Dough

Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Pizza Crust Whole Grain Mix - Value $2.50

Salento Farm Pure Classic Garlic Powder - Value $7

I avoid gluten and dairy in my diet, so I was thrilled to see that this pizza mix is free of both! Plus, a lot gluten-free mixes, breads, etc. tend to have a lot of sugar in them, but this one doesn't. And it gets great reviews! Now I just have to decide if I'll use it to make pizza dough, or use the other recipe on the package to make cinnamon rolls!

I'm also pretty excited about this garlic powder - it's all natural, no fillers/ anti-caking agents!

Fancy Food Subscription Box Review - August 2014 Sauce

Hatch Chile Pesto -Value $10

Scarpetta Pizza Sauce - Value $8

I was so surprised to see this pesto was dairy-free! (It's also sadly basil-free, but I think I'll still love it). They recommend folding it into an omelet, or whisking it with lemon and olive oil to create a light salad dressing!

And I feel like this box was made for me because this pizza sauce is dairy-free, sugar-free, and the container is BPA-free!

Fancy Food Subscription Box Review - August 2014 Soda

Miss Lady Small Batch Cream Soda - Value $9

This is the most gorgeous soda bottle I've ever seen!

Fancy Food Subscription Box Review - August 2014 Sweets

Biscotti Di Vecchio in Toasted Almond - Value $6.50

Chocolate Twist Epic Sea Salt Caramels - Value $12

I like that the theme this month is pizza and dessert! My husband will love these biscotti!

Verdict: This month's box has a retail value of $55. Considering every single item is a food item I think it's a great value. (Usually Fancy Food Boxes include at least one or two kitchen items). I loved the theme this month - especially because I can enjoy all the pizza making ingredients!

What do you think of the August Fancy Food Box?

Did anyone else detest the smell and flavor of the cream soda? It was horrible. I was wondering if the heat had something to do with it – we live in the Seattle area – typically have cooler weather, but it was in the upper 90’s the day this was delivered. Our caramels were also greasy.

This would had made a great box for my sister who is gluten-free. She misses eating pizza.

Love that gluten free pizza mix! Sadly, I’m allergic to tomatoes and peppers so I can’t eat traditional pizza. Makes life tough in general.

I make a yummy pizza with caramelized onions and blue cheese…you can try some arugula or pear with it as well! You won’t miss “traditional” pizza!
