So i got a email from pop sugar with a temporary password, since they upgrading their website for added security they updated everyones passwords. I wanted to cancel my monthly subscription but under my account it doesn’t show that i’m subscribed, it doesn’t show a cc on file either. So does this mean I’m not a member? I just want to make sure I won’t be billed on the first of October. I wonder if the new updates cancelled all monthly subs and you have to rejoin. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

I am totally disappointed with Popsugar! They kept stringing us along all day yesterday saying soon, almost there, shortly, by tonight, etc! When all they should have done is been down for an extra day to get everything done and had everything done before noon. In my opinion they technically brought their site back up yesterday, but they really didn’t! It was up very late at night, it’s having tons of problems and the company doesn’t seem apologetic about it at all! I’m no longer going to be getting this subscription since they don’t seem to care about their customers much at all. I’ll save my money and spend it on something else!

I actually just bought one of the baby boy boxes for my stepbrother’s new little one. To me, it’s the perfect gift as it has a variety of items to take the baby through his first year and beyond- including a book and a wubby. (I always give at least one book and something soft for baby to love on.) This box may become my go-to baby gift in the future. (And considering I routinely spend over $75 putting together a baby gift, the price is just right.)

Shenanigans!! There is absolutely no reason for a website to be down for a week to add three products. Popsugar needs to do some serious self reflection and a$$ kissing if it intends to keep it’s subscribers.

I can’t even reset my password. It says my email is not recognized. Nice.

Tara B

told me the same thing but still got an email.

I created a new account and ordered a 2nd sept box (i want a second scarf for my mom) and never received a confirmation email. I also had to reset the password on my original account. I’m guessing they are having some serious issues switching to their new site and that our information will eventually be restored…I hope they didn’t mean to delete everything. 🙁

I was really excited about the bridesmaids box, until I realized they would be $75 x 4, I’ve already spent quite a bit on part of their gifts already. Eventhough the value is there, I just don’t feel like that’s very economical price seeing how weddings are expensive as is.
Not at all what I was expecting a week long website shutdown for…

I am pretty upset with the new changes. I have had to reset my password for my account to even be recognized, and there is no credit card listed as on file. So all of my past purchased are now missing. Even more annoying, I was going to cancel until I saw some spoilers for October and now there is a ‘wait list’ to join?
BOOO PopSugar!!!!

Lori

Where did you see spoilers for October? Link please!!!

Tara B

What spoilers?! Tell me!!! 🙂

Not interested in any of these, but I guess props where they’re due: these sets appear to be a better value at a cheaper price than the LE fall box.

Now I just need them to get their site to load so I can finally cancel my subscription.

Pretty underwhelming. But relieved to not be remotely interested in any of it.

Susan

What a relief! Nothing to tempt me. 🙂

Not impressed and I have a baby, I can get similar things from her subscription boxes, yes my baby is a sub fanatic 🙂

The website is still down, lets say it wont even load. I was reading in FB that the whole layout of the site was changed and we are getting an e-mail today on how to log in as that changed too. So the whole week down time was to make a whole new website, maybe like somebody else said to change providers too.

I hope the site is back up later today because I haven’t seen with my own eyes the whole week anticipation, but those boxes blah!

Not what I was expecting or hoping for. They do seem like nice gifts, but don’t most people purchase baby shower gifts from registries? And the Bridesmaid box seems well-curated, but if you have more than a few attendants that cost would add up really quickly. I’m just totally underwhelmed.

Ouch $75??

I agree, there’s nothing in either box version-wedding or baby- that’s worth $75 (plus shipping!), even taking the convenience factor into account. I think most brides, even those who don’t feel gift-creative and/or those pressed for time, can put together something just as good for less than $40/bridesmaid. I love the lip tars and own several of the mini emergency kits (they really are great to have handy, weddings or not, but you can get them for $15/each online retail – $10/each by the case), but you can easily snag nice moisturizers, frames, and a cute necklace along with those items for well under $75. If the set was priced at $40-$50, it might be a good deal. Same goes for the baby box. If it were priced at the $40 mark, the box would be a good deal. But $75 is way inflated. It would make a cute gift for a mom finding out the baby’s gender perhaps, but as a practical baby gift, it’s a pretty random collection of 6 cute but overpriced/not terribly practical items (at least not to this “veteran” mom of 4 and counting).

In terms of launch timing, at least for the wedding themed box, they missed the boat. Sep isn’t exactly prime wedding season. They would have been much better off had they launched this in say April, maybe May at the latest. In all, these boxes are more proof that PS is out of touch with a big chunk of their target demographic, in terms of content, value and timing. They need to focus on revamping their LE boxes after the last few overpriced/underwhelming offerings. And they absolutely need to start listening to feedback. What next, a Christmas decoration-themed box in Feb? My final take? Missed the mark again.

If I were pregnant, I would LOVE to get one of these as a gift. SO CUTE! But, it kind of sucks that they’re just one-time purchase boxes… I wonder if they’re gonna change them out now and then?

Pilar

At least my wallet will thank me, none of these boxes amuse me

Kyla

I’m super disappointed too, but it’s popsugar so that’s a monthly occurrence. BUT if these collections are a regular thing then I guess they will switch them out like total beauty and birchbox do, and eventually we will get a box that works for us. Yay for previewing contents!

Jamie

That’s what I’m hoping – instead of blind LE boxes, maybe they will have these curated sets instead.

Weebs

This is the 2nd disappointment of the day… first being the new Wantable fitness box and now this from PopSugar. Bah but my wallet is thanking me.

Reply ButtonReply

Sasha

Meh. This can’t be why they needed a whole week to have the site down. Even switching payment processors shouldn’t take that long.

Reply ButtonReply

Chantel

I am super disappointed! I guess my bank account will be happy though. I made it through another day saying “no” to ordering yet another subscription box 😉 I guess I was expecting a bigger reveal.

Reply ButtonReply

Megan

Complete disappointment! I am glad for my wallet though. There is no reason to be down for a week to add boxes that are similar to birchbox special addition boxes. There is something they are not saying. So sad and so disappointed. What a waste of time on my part.

Reply ButtonReply

Jill

Agreed on the disappointment! The other thing is, I wanted to cancel my subscription. However, there’s no info on subscriptions from before today. the FAQ says to go to Account/Billing, but there’s no option for “billing.” Does that mean you’d need to re-sign up and don’t have to worry about autorenew? Confused! Plus I had to reset my password to get in.

Me too (reset my password)
My box hasn’t arrived, nor have I received an email with tracking, which I normally don’t so it is frustrating to have all account info just GONE,

Reply ButtonReply

Molly

I’m in the same boat. I’ve emailed them asking about the progress of my box (if I’m even getting what I paid for now), but haven’t received anything yet. I also do not see the subscription I’m signed up for under the Subscriptions page. I really don’t want to have to sign up *again*.

It does look like they’ve migrated to a new e-commerce system (or at least made some major changes to the back-end of their website), but the fact that they weren’t able to migrate their customer data is incredibly frustrating and making me consider dumping this subscription (if I still have one…).

Amanda

I’m trying to figure this out as well. I emailed them asking if we had to create a new subscription because I didn’t see any of my existing information there. (And they should have migrated that data so it is annoying that they did not.)

lotsaboxes

i think the site was down for more reasons that just these one time boxes. looks like they switched service providers and have a new e commerce system in place.

just my guess

i’m just glad they did’t up the prices of the original box. (or i should say i hope the didnt)

That makes more sense than adding 3 new products when companies add product to their websites everyday. Hopefully when I am up tomorrow there will be more than this. I’m disappointed between this and Wantable Fitness and am tired with a 6 yo who does not want to go to sleep!!!

Reply ButtonReply

PA Anna

I don’t understand the need to take down the website for that. The website won’t load right now so maybe there is more to come. Still if that is it I am very disappointed.

Sara

I’m already not a big fan of Popsugar, but I was hoping for something better. Nice boxes, but pretty expensive and very specific. I was hoping for a beauty box or mini box or something else.
