Gift Ideas for Book Lovers

These are my favorite book and book-related gifts for 2014! There are a few great subscription options that will keep the book-lover on your list stocked with new books and goodies every month. And there are some stand-alone awesome book-related gifts too!

Powell's

Powell's Indiespensable Book Club - $39.95 every 6 weeks

Powell's sends subscribers their favorite new books with special extras like signed editions, limited prints, etc. They also include bonus gifts to go with the box.

Book Light

Reading Light ClothesPin Clip - $9

A fun twist on the typical book light, this one is stocking stuffer-sized and gets great reviews!

Coaster Set

Marks The Plot Coaster Set - $24.99

This classic book cover coaster set even comes with it's own book-shaped holder! And for every one of these sets sold, a book is also donated to a community in need.

Book Riot Subscription

Book Riot Quarterly Subscription - $50 a box

Every three months, Book Riot sends subscribers books and book related goodies. They often include notes from the author and other exclusives. (Check out my Book Riot reviews of past boxes to see what you can expect with this subscription).

Library Card Tote

Library Card Tote Bag - $19.99

This canvas tote is a wonderful throw back to library cards and a must if someone on your shopping list is a Librarian! (Or just a book lover!)

Riot Read

Riot Read Subscription - $25 a month

Riot Read is a monthly subscription that sends you one recently released hardcover book each month - selected by Riot Read editors. This subscription also comes with access to a subscription book discussion group. (Check out my reviews of past months to see what you can expect with this subscription).

Old Books Candle

Frostbeard Studio Old Books Scented Soy Candle - $15

This scent of this candle is described as "a sweet, earthy smell with a hint of must." If that doesn't sound like a good fit for the book lover on your list, they also have Harry Potter inspired scented candles!

Oyster Books

Oyster Gift Subscriptions - $10 a month

Oyster is a digital library subscription that provides readers with over 500,000 titles. No need to worry about getting them a book they may not like! It works with iPads, Kindle Fires, and Android-tablets. (For the best gift ever pair this with a tablet!)

As a librarian, I just want to say that this post is awesome. 🙂

However, Oyster is for suckers. Check with your local library to see if they have subscriptions to Overdrive or One Click Digital — free eBooks with your library card!

I gave my sister (who is a HUGE bookworm!!) the Frostbeard candle last year for Christmas, and she loved it!! And it really does smell like a cozy library or a cute little book store 🙂

Thanks for the ideas Liz. I just ordered one of the clothespin book light’s for my nephew. He’ll think it’s so cool.
