Custom Wood Serving Board with Knife Slot - Value $20?
Big Dipper Wax Works 100% Beeswax Taper Candles - Value $9.50
This serving board was made exclusively for Hamptons Lane subscribers, so I'm estimating the value. I think the knife slot design is smart and this would work well for a smaller loaf of bread or maybe a few cheeses.
I love Big Dipper Wax Works candles! They are made with all natural 100% beeswax, which has that subtle scent that I love. These are definitely an good item for an entertaining box! (Plus I feel like taper candles in subscription boxes are pretty rare).
Bonnie's Jams Peach Ginger Jam - Value $9
This jam is an Oprah's Favorite Thing from 2013, and it is delicious. The peach and ginger is a great flavor combination, and it's not overly sweet. Hamptons Lane recommends combining it with the included Fig Balsamic Vinegar to make a glaze for a duck or pork dish.
Fee Brothers Aztec Chocolate Bitters - Value $8.50
The Girl & The Fig Fig Balsamic Vinegar - Value $10
The Aztec Chocolate Bitters is a blend of bitters that includes cacao beans, peppers and spices. They also included a cocktail recipe for an Aztec Chocolate Old Fashioned.
Olive oil and balsamic vinegar are two items I'm always happy to receive in subscription boxes since they are kitchen staples. This one is made with fig paste so it's a little sweet but still tart. (Hamptons Lane recommends pairing it with anything from fruit, to cheese to meat, and they also included a recipe for Peach Ginger Pork Tenderloin that uses both the vinegar and the peach ginger jam).
Verdict: This box has a value of about $57 (that's including my estimate on the cost of the serving board). The value is good, and as always I think the best part of this box is the curation. They definitely put a lot of thought into selecting the items, making the recipes, and putting together a theme.
