Hamptons Lane Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Jan 2015 Healthy Eating

This month’s theme is Healthy Eating. Each box comes with a folded sheet detailing each of the items included:

They also included recipes that feature the items in the box: Shrimp Pad Thai with Zucchini Noodles, Sriracha Salmon over Leek & Parsnip Rice, and Chai Ginger Apple Crisp.

Hamptons Lane Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Jan 2015 Slicer

Paderno Spiral Vegetable Slicer - Retail Value $39.95 (On Amazon for $33.24)

I'm pretty much in love with this machine. It is made with BPA free plastic, it is dishwasher safe, and the blade parts store in the machine when it isn't in use.

So far I've used it with zucchini, cucumber and carrots, but it works with a lot of other vegetables too.

Hamptons Lane Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Jan 2015 Nuts

Better Off Spread The Ace of Spice Spicy Peppery Organic Peanut Butter - Value $10

Nuts.com Chia Ginger Superfood Cereal - Value $6.99

Both of these items are amazing. The Better Off Spread is all organic, gluten-free and vegan - and the spicy taste with peanut butter is great. I think we'll be using this for sauces for noodle dishes moving forward.

And I have to admit I finished this Chia Ginger Superfood Cereal in one sitting. It's so good and not too sweet. I think I'm going try out some other mixes from Nuts.com too.

Hamptons Lane Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Jan 2015 Jojos

Greenpoint Trading Co. Dracula's Nightmare Salt Free Garlic Seasoning - Value $6.25

Love Hard Inc. Jojo's Sriracha Chili Sauce - Value $12

This seasoning is made with sesame seeds, garlic, onion, oregano, basil, celery seeds, marjoram, paprika and thyme. It smells amazing! I can't really go without salt at meal, but this will probably help me use a little less.

This Sriracha sauce is made with just chili peppers, organic distilled vinegar, organic garlic, sea salt, and organic palm sugar. For such a high-quality item I'm going to have to cook up a different use for it besides what we usually use sriracha for - adding to our chipotle burrito bowls!

Verdict: I think this is my favorite Hamptons Lane box ever. The retail value is great - over $68. Even more importantly, the value to me is awesome - I love every single food item and the spiralizer is such a great tool. (With my gluten and dairy diet restrictions, food boxes often aren't 100% useable for me, so I may be more pumped about this box than others!)

So far I've made zucchini spirals and added them to scrambled eggs - the results were great. My husband and I couldn't really tell the difference between eggs with or without the zucchini - which means it will be super easy to up the veggie portion of breakfast!

I also used it for a mix of carrot, zucchini, and cucumber spirals served with ground turkey, and rice. It was delicious and very easy to make. (Hopefully just switching out sauces for that dish will keep it interesting since I want to make it a lot now).

What do you think of the January Hamptons Lane? Any Spiralizer recipe recommendations?

I’m glad that I read this – looks like they are now using the “cheap” ones mentioned here: Tri-blade Vegetable Spiralizer by Hamptons Lane, New York, New York
MSRP: $40.00

I will just order the brand you all recommend above from Amazon.

We also got the knock-off Made in China veggie slicer. Totally not happy with the false advertising.

Thanks, I just emailed too, was not too happy about that but have not really sat down and looked at what they sent.

I contacted customer service and they said it was a supplier mistake. They are getting more of the originals and offered to replace mine. (I’ve cancelled my subscription, pending the outcome, but will give them another chance if they keep their promise). Try contacting Hamptons Lane.

I received my box after delays (“warehouse move”, billing errors, wrong name on box), and it is definitely NOT the Paderno as promised. Cheap knockoff from China (not Italy). Very flimsy. There is even a sticker covering the actual brand name. So disappointing. I’ve canceled my subscription.

Have been trying to cancel my membership from the website they give you,and to no avail I cannot pull it up.Can’t even get a customer service number.Cancelled the Morracan shipment and they sent it to me anyway. Was disappointed with my first box.How do I cancel my membership completely? Thank You

It took me a couple of emails (increasingly abrupt). I guess I was lucky that the credit card on file expired. I never did get the promised replacement. I’m kind of sorry it didn’t work out. Some of the products were very good.

Got my box today, not sure what brand the spiralizer is, don’t see a brand name on it anywhere.

Mine has a sticker covering a Pomstream label. It’s a knockoff from China instead of Italy, and it’s sold on scam “deal” sites that inflate the retail value and promise a “today only” offer (that’s still higher than Amazon). It’s definitely NOT the Paderno that was promised. 🙁

I got a box today and it only contained a paderno plastic turning slicer? Did anyone else experience this?

I never knew I could want a kitchen gadget so much! I just signed up for this. I cannot wait to get it. I think you sold it with the idea of adding veggies into everything. 🙂

I love the spiralizer! The Inspiralized website has a lot of great recipes. It also tells you what veggies are best suited to being spiral cut and gives tips on how to do so.

I ordered this box Jan 1st and I haven’t received any tracking info yet. I can’t wait to use the veggie spiral.

I haven’t heard anything about mine either. I am starting to worry. I was super excited about this box.

Maybe this subscription does not offer tracking? This is my first time dealing with them?

Same here. I emailed them but haven’t heard anything about my shipment.

Hi Liz! I’m getting this box also and just curious as to what kind of sauce you used for your dish with ground turkey? Sounds delicious and I would love to try it! Thanks!

So far I’ve tried:

The peanut sauce included, with a little sesame oil and soy sauce (I added a little warm water to this mixture and stirred it to get the right consistency).
And for a lighter simpler “sauce” I just mixed coconut aminos (gluten free soy sauce alternative) with sesame oil.

Hope that helps!
