Wantable Intimates Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Box

Wantable Intimates is one of the subscriptions from Wantable, and it is probably my favorite box they offer. Like all Wantable subscriptions, you can heavily customize what they send you by filling out your preferences – and you still get to be surprised!

FYI – they recently changed the amount of items you get in this subscription from 4-5 to 3-4.

Here is more info from Wantable on the change:

“Wantable made several changes to our intimates collection based on customer feedback which we implemented on October 24th. Some of these changes included adding a new lingerie category, adding a sexy style option and increasing individual item value.  As a result all collections now contain 3 sometimes 4 items, where previously collections contained 4 sometimes 5 items.”

Wantable kindly sent me this box to review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Here are the order details as well.

Wantable Intimates Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Set

real Underwear Fleece PJ Set - Value $48

This isn't the most flattering PJ set - but it is one of the most comfortable and cozy sets I've ever worn! It is perfect for snow days and Netflix marathons! (They sized up in this set since it runs small).

Wantable Intimates Subscription Box Review – January 2015 Slip

Sophie B Sweet Escape Chemise - Retail Price Listed on Invoice $36 (Retail Price listed on Hanes site is $24, On sale for $18)

It's not clear from the photo, but the black fabric in this chemise is a semi-sheer rose pattern. It also comes with a matching thong.

Verdict: I'm really happy with both of my items this month. The retail value of this box is about $72, and it seems like the $70-$80 range in value is what I should expect from Wantable Intimates since they've made some changes. I'm find with that value as long as I like all the items - and this month I do!

What do you think of the January Wantable Intimates box? Did you get a Fleece PJ set?

I love Wantables. My January box was great, I got the lounge pants, a great purple tank, and muk lusk slipper socks. I have been getting the boxes for about a year and have had a few misses as far as sizes. Their customer service really is awesome. Exchanged items for better sizes. I did get a couple of accessory boxes I wasn’t to happy with.

This was my first Wantable box as well. I received the same pjs and a grey and cream chemise which I do consider lingerie, which I love. Like most people I have odd sizing too, big boobs, no butt. The pjs are med and a wee bit tight on my bust but not uncomfortable and the pants a little big but again perfectly functional and better than if they had been tight. Let’s just see how they do in the wash! The chemise is also Med. and fits perfectly which I am thrilled about! A lot of times Med. is way to small for DDs but I’m a size 4 so it’s usually a safe bet. Well done Wantable, I can’t wait until next month, I don’t know how I resisted for so long considering my pj addiction.

I got my first box this month, after weeks and weeks of debate. Having subscribed to a large percentage of various boxes and whittling it down to 4 or 5, I was hesitant to add another. But. After finally convincing my tshirt and basketball shorts husband to subscribe to Five Four Club, I figured I’d give this one a shot.

I am 5’5 and wear a size 10 (those stubborn 20lbs. sigh). I used to be a very, very XL (330 lbs), so I have always struggled with properly sized clothes. And itimates? Do sweats count lol. That being said, the thought of getting clothes without trying them on first? Meh.

Wantable has swayed me. As I said, I got my first box this month. And had to return all three items. I was really quite surprised at how disappointed I was by this. All 3 items were gorgeous, very well-made and too small, despite being very thorough and honest with my survey. My items were a beautiful tank top, a camisole, and a bra.

I contacted customer service, and they were quick to respond. I loved the items so much that I wondered if I could just exchange them for a larger size, as apparently their items run approx a size small. Alas, a return for credit is what they were able to do, however, please change/update your survey accounting for the new sizing. I did this immediately and am filled with sorrow (boo-hoo) at missing out on such wonderful pieces. That being said, both my husband and I agree, sizing permitting, if this first box is any indication of future ones, we will happily continue to subscribe.

Thank you, Liz, for your objective, honest and thorough reviews. I, too, am a subscription addict and am hesitant to try a box without a review of what to expect. Keep ’em coming 😉

I was very disappointed in my Jan Intimates box. The biggest disappointment I have is I have no way to suggest anything different. There is supposed to be a comment box. That comment box has never come up for me. I’m sending the Jan box back and have filled out the survey and the return info and still no comment box. Plus, you don’t have a way to go back and change your preferences. What would you do if you gained or lost weight or were pregnant?!! I’ve gotten some great boxes from them and love the concept. I’m just frustrated about the lack of input to make suggestions or changes.

You can make changes to your profile as often as you like. Just go to the website, sign in and pick what box you want to change I.e. Intimates. It does say “let’s get started” or something like that on the box you have to click, but that’s what you click….so it’s a little confusing. But it will have your info from last time. You can do the initial survey you did over and over again (I have :). It will take you through it and you see your old responses and can change them. At the very end, there will be the comment box. After you finish, it will ask if you want to save the new preferences to order now or on the date of your next scheduled shipment. So you can order an extra box for the month if you send your first one back or if you just want two!
Hope this helps. It took me a little while to figure this out too, so I was frustrated at first ;).

Wantable intimates is a hit and miss for me. I wear a 16. A juniors XL is too small, but a misses XL fits,And a small 1x does too. So based on my measurements, I get everythign form 2xl, 1x, XL and L in the box, and of course they don’t all fit. I sent the last one back because they sent a lovley bra in my exact size that i really liked. But they sent a cupped camisole with it, that had they bothered to notice the cup size of the bra they were sending, they have realized it would never have fit in a million years!!! I think if you are a smaller, more standard size, this could be fun, but I am just not all that thrilled and after 6 months and keeping only 2 boxes( one of which I gave to friends whoe could fit the too large 2x nighty they sent) I am on the verge of cancelling.

I am plus size (2X) and I’ve had pretty good luck with Wantable intimates. Occasionally I get something that doesn’t fit, but even when that happens there is usually enough value in the box for me to keep it. They are good at knowing when certain items run small and so they will send a larger size.

I am with everyone else. I would say that it is lingerie. I got muk luk slipper socks, legging, and a tank top. I only paid $18.00 so it’s not bad. I would have been upset if I paid full price. I miss the extra item. Because there was always something I didn’t like in my box. This time it was the tank top. I don’t want/need a nude tank top.

If you keep your box, try using the tank as a layering piece under sheer shirts. At least it could be of some use hopefully. 🙂

I honestly want to run down the street wearing it. Everyone would think I was topless!!! lol Just wear it jogging on time. That would be FUNNY!

Love my Wantable Intimates! I got a thermal PJ set and a great bra this month. I miss getting more items, but I still think the value is there. Would have loved that fleece set, too. I gave several Wantable boxes as Christmas gifts this year, can’t wait to hear if they like them.

I love Wantable Intimates! I had to skip several months due to financial reasons, but I started up again as soon as I could. This month, I got a pair of Muk Luks that I’ve pretty much been living in, a pair of incredibly thick and flattering shapewear tights (perfect for winter!), and an underwire bra. I was initially disappointed in the bra because I thought there was no way it would fit. I was not only wrong, but it is really quite comfy. As a larger, curvy girl I’m hesitant about clothing boxes, but Wantables has done a great job finding flattering, fun items in larger sizes.

Wouldn’t a chemise be considered lingerie? Seeing as it’s a see through chemise and panty set, wouldn’t it be one of your dislikes?

Reply ButtonReply

chris

One way to find out, wear the outfit out and see if anyone says anything…

Ha, just kidding.

Anyone remember the Friends episode when Rachel is at her date’s home wearing a negligee when his parents return unexpectedly and she tells them it’s actually a dress by an Italian designer or something so they decide to all go out for dinner and she is still wearing the dress…

I was also wondering this. To me, this piece is lingerie. I had a similar situation this month. I received an awesome pair of lounge pants and muk luks fleece lined tights and a camisole even though I only had lounge wear, tights, leggings, and bras liked. I’m wondering if they took some liberties with lounge wear or bras?

Vanessa

I thought this too

I was wondering the same thing, Rachael. Hmm.. ??

I LOVE Wantable! Especially since they added the comment section! I’ll go check out what other people got, then request what I want and if they have it in stock they’ll usually send it. 🙂 I did like getting 4 pieces more than 3 though, mainly because I don’t feel like the value of each item has gone up, we just lost an item. ;-p That’s just my opinion.. I still love & recommend them! 😀

I was just looking for the comment section that you mention — as I would love to have a little more targeted in the direction I’d like. Where is it?

Reply ButtonReply

Lisa J

I just double-checked because I couldn’t remember exactly where it is… After you do your love/like/dislike quiz, there’s a page that summarizes what you put in each category, scroll down a bit and there’s a little box that says “Final thoughts?” above it. That’s where you would put any comments or requests you want your stylist to see. Hope it works for you! Let us know. 🙂

My family and I have had nothing but bad experiences with the intimates collections sadly 🙁 from items that don’t fit even though it’s out size, the color being different than is described and pictured, items off the dislike list among other things. Luckily customer service is very helpful and they offer refunds which are easy and fast. I’m going to give them one more chance! 🙂

I loved mine so much I ordered a second box! First box, I got soft cami top and daisy fuentes lounge pants and a sexy thong. I ordered the second box because I wanted another pair of those lounge pants! They are so soft and comfy and I wanted to request a pair of muk luks! The customer service was AWESOME and sent me exactly what I wanted! LOVE wantable.

hi liz! do you have any promo codes for this box? i am thinking of trying it out. thanks!

Reply ButtonReply

Trish

They had a 30% off code recently, but I’m not sure if it’s still good. I used it to order the January box, which was immediately returned after opening. The items that I received were poor quality, and didn’t even fit with my questionnaire answers. However, I will say that they seem to have GREAT customer service! They were incredibly helpful and nice! Just personally, I would rather spend my money with a sub like Adore Me. You can pick out exactly what you want and, in my experience so far, the items are of much better quality. Sure, part of the fun of Subs is the surprise, but Wantable was a big miss for me.

Reply ButtonReply

EC

The only Wantable discount I’ve ever seen or gotten to use came from Wantable themselves. I would place a sub in my shopping cart and leave it for 8+ hours. Each time they sent me a 15% off code to encourage me to complete the transaction. Other than that I don’t know that they offer promo codes.

If you like Wantable on Facebook, they’ll sometimes have deals pop up on there where you can get 10% off (they had 50% off a few months ago, which was an amazing deal!)
