Citrus Lane Mystery Box Review - February 2015 Box

Once or twice a month Citrus Lane offers mystery boxes. They are $29 and have a guaranteed value of $60 or more. I decided it was time to review one of these boxes, and I need so many baby gifts this year!

This mystery box is no longer available, but I'll post the next time Citrus Lane offers mystery boxes.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Citrus Lane Mystery Box Review - February 2015 Bear

Green Tones Elephant Shaker - Value $10

North American Bear Co. Rattle Bear - Value $12.50

This little rattle is made from chemical-free rubberwood with a non-toxic, with  a clear-coat finish over natural wood and German-made, VOC-free water-based paint. (And it is super cute!)

This little bear is super soft and has a built in rattle.

Citrus Lane Mystery Box Review - February 2015 Books

Tiny Love Where Do I live Book - Value $12

Cleo's Color Book - Value $6.50

This Where Do I Live book is the one item that was guaranteed in the mystery box I picked. (They offer about a dozen different mystery boxes each time). It is soft and full of interactive pages, and works for 3 months and up.

I think I've received a Cleo book before in another subscription box - based on the reviews on Amazon this series seems to be a hit with parents and kids!

Citrus Lane Mystery Box Review - February 2015 Container

Inno Baby Container - Value $4

Haba Wooden Toy - Value $9.50

This Inno Baby container is a stackable, BPA and phthalate-free plastic container. I like they added a spout inside so you can limit how much of the snack in the container can come out at once.

The Haba toy is for ages 6 months and up, and is also made with non-toxic, water-based stain.

Citrus Lane Mystery Box Review - February 2015 Cups

My First Green Toys Stacking Cups - Value $10

These stacking cups are free from BPA, phthalates, and PVC. And they are made from recycled plastic! (They are also for 6 months and up).

Verdict: I'm really happy with the quality of the items included in this box. I'm planning on using these items as gifts for our good friends who are expecting their first child, and I feel great about giving them everything in the box! The value of this box is about $65, and I feel like I got my money's worth.

Have you tried a Citrus Lane mystery box? Were you happy with what you received?

Just ordered 2 – one for an infant and one for a 2-year-old. Half-off plus free shipping over $49, and I was excited to see the Green Toys “spoiler” item! 🙂

I wasn’t a huge fan of the monthly sub but I LOVE the mystery boxes. The value and quality impress me every time and the curation by age is wonderful. Dropping the sub and buying mystery boxes on a regular basis really makes me feel like I’m getting my money’s worth, and then some.

I’ve ordered 2 mystery boxes as gifts and was thrilled at the value for very high quality items. I plan to order another for a 1-year-olds birthday. No complaints here.

I bought the toddler boy mystery box. It included: one gray long-sleeved size 2T shirt, baby maracas, stars night light, bath fishing toy that said age 3 and up, and a small wooden toy car. The shirt was just okay (not super cute). My kid did not care for the maracas whatsoever (the tambourine in a previous box was a hit though). The night light would have been better if it played music. The biggest letdown was the bath toy since my kid isn’t old enough. Surprisingly, he liked the toy car.

Wow, your box looks great! It seems like you received a lot of items this month. Those stacking cups are great, we have them and several other items from Green Toys.

Each month I feel like I’m getting ripped off by this box but my daughters (18 months & 3 years old) both love the toys that are sent. Our 3 year old box came with Tegu 4 piece magnetic block set ($14), I Could Be You Could Be book ($6), Hape Lacing Skaet ($12) and two organic jelly bean snacks ($2). $34 total value is a far cry from the value of your box. :/

I am riding out the yearly subscription for my 2 year old which I got from Gilt City. I got the jelly bean snacks, too and my total value was about the same as yours which is disappointing. They have sent out 3 very small hand sanitizer samples last month! The company was bought by Care.com a little while ago, so curation/value may have changed since. They send out the survey, so I try to fill out every month.

Maybe I consider the Mystery Box time to time after my subscription ends. I will wait for a while so it won’t be a repeat of items. And also a great idea as gift!

She’s reviewing one of the mystery boxes. Those tend to have a higher value of items in them.

Ohhhhhh! Well then I’ll need to reconsider the mystery boxes in the future. Maybe I’ll just do the mystery boxes instead of the monthly boxes then. That’s what I do with Julep and it rocks!

I also find that my monthly box value is lower than this mystery box value.

Thanks so much for reviewing one. I’ve seen them come up and been debating with purchasing one for my brother’s baby, but without knowing how many items were in it, etc. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to spend that much. Based on what I see here I will definitely take advantage of them in the future.
