Hamptons Lane Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Feb 2015 Fifty Shades

This month's theme is Fifty Shades of Chicken, which features the parody book of the same name.

The info sheet that comes with the box details all the items included. And on the back includes recipes featuring those items:

Hamptons Lane Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Feb 2015 Chicken

Fifty Shades of Chicken - Value $16

While I haven't read many parody cookbooks, I think it is still safe to say this must be one of the most well-done books in that genre! The recipes actually look good, the titles of the recipes are hilarious, and there's even a narrative throughout the book - so it is part cookbook, part book.

(I'm thinking of giving this book as part of an upcoming Bachelorette party gift!)

Hamptons Lane Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Feb 2015 Roaster

Norpro Stainless Steel Vertical Roaster - Value $13

This roaster is supposed to evenly roast the meat, and it gets great reviews on Amazon. I have to admit, I've never roasted a chicken before (I opt for picking up a rotisserie at Whole Foods), so I'm not sure if I would use this to justify keeping it - I may swap it.

Hamptons Lane Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Feb 2015 String

Chicken Bondage Rope - Value $3?

Jacobsen Salt Co. Lemon Zest Salt - Value $5

This salt smells so fresh and citrusy - I can't wait to use it!

Hamptons Lane Subscription Box Review & Coupon – Feb 2015 Olive Oil

Spiceologist All Natural Spice Blend Pink Peppercorn Lemon Thyme - Value $15

Lusty Lemon Extra Virgin Olive Oil - Value $7

I love lemon with chicken, so I lucked out on this box. This all natural spice blend sounds amazing, and I love how short the ingredient list is.

And I love getting new flavored olive oils to try from subscription boxes, and this "Lusty Lemon" flavor sounds perfect!

Verdict: I think this is such a well-done, fun, and also useful box. (Very hard to accomplish!) The value is good too - about $59. And I think it was smart for them to do this box in February, with Valentine's Day and the release of Fifty Shades of Grey around the corner. (I'm curious to see how the movie does at the box office - from what I've read, the press tour is not going so well!)

What do you think of the Fifty Shades of Chicken Hamptons Lane box?

No January box yet for me either. Also no tracking for it. Just a promise that it was getting mailed last week. Also have no box for February which was supposed supposed to supposed to be supposed to be a vday gift. They have my money, and I have nothing to show for it.

Still no Jan Box for me and they have stopped replying to my e-mails Next step will be to contact my CC as they have been saying “on the way” for three weeks now I would advise caution before signing up

Wow, surprisingly my January and February boxes both showed up today. A bit odd considering I have not seen a charge yet for my February box…

I received my first Hampton Lane box today! I came home today and there was a white box from GA sitting on my stairs. Everything is present. I can’t wait to try it out. I roast a chicken at least once a week.

I swapped for the Spanish Tapas box as I just got a new roasting pan for my bday. The Jacobsen salt almost swayed me to this one though. It’s currently very hot with chefs (I’m married to one) and I knew he would appreciate getting some in a box. The more I can keep him smiling over my boxes, the more I get to buy!

Like I commented on the spoiler thread, I really like the theme, but I skipped for the same reason as Liz. I cook a lot, but I don’t usually roast chicken as there is a great rotisserie nearby. But if I ever want to try roasting, this roaster looks good, compact and reasonable. Lemon salt will also be great for fish dish and lemon olive oil will be great for homemade dressing.

I really liked the January box and I’m excited for February. I’m all about the kitchen gadgets, and the spiralizer and roaster had been on my wishlist.

No Jan Box for me as well-canceled my account as CS seems off to me with no effort to “make up ” for the wait. Too bad as I think would have used alot

This is the first box I haven’t skipped in a long while and I’m so pleased I didn’t.
The book looks like so much fun. I’m planning to read it then pass it around all my friends.
All those lemon flavoured seasonings and oils will be a welcome addition to my spice cupboard and I’m looking forward to trying the chicken roaster.
Plus, if I never learn to truss a chicken, I can use the string on my husband a la ’50 Shades’.

This box looks great!

I am wondering, however, if anyone else hasn’t yet received their January box or even received tracking info on it? I had written in to Hamptons Lane several times now, and keep getting official emails that say Sorry, sorry, we moved warehouses, shipping this week! Of course, that was weeks ago now. Anyone else in this same boat? I can’t seem to get a personal response, just the general emails going out to everyone I think.

I Signed up in late January and have not received a Box for Jan or Feb yet.

I got my Feb box but still no Jan box. Hmmm.

I still haven’t gotten my January box either, I have emailed them a few times in the past couple of weeks and they keep saying it will be shipping soon or that is has shipped and they are just waiting for the tracking number. It’s starting to feel like a run around, this is the third box I’ve gotten and they have all has shipping issues. Not sure if it is worth the hassle

They sent me an email on January 28th that the spiralizer was delayed due to the longshoremen strike. They indicated that I would receive $10 off my next box for the inconvenience. Maybe your email went to your spam folder or maybe they don’t have a good system set up to send out emails like that.

I have not gotten my Jan box yet either, have sent them a note.

They said they would be mailing today and we would get shipping notices Monday. There was an email saying we would get a $10 credit and a bonus in the Feb box, which I am not getting.

OMG I wish they shipped to APO/AE addresses! I love HL! And I think that the box is definitely worth every penny <3 Great review on great items! I am so jelly

I have resisted this box in the past, but I just pulled the trigger. This looks like a great deal of fun and a lot of useful items in the box. The oil and seasonings look particularly interesting and like things you can never quite count on getting in a swap. And since they nuked my Fancy Culinary subscription, I have a spare slot…

As I mentioned in a previous comment, I am obsessed with that cookbook, and even bought a vertical roaster just to make that recipe. Liz, even if you don’t make the chicken, I highly suggest making those tomato roasted potatoes. They are amazing!
