This month is all about aromas from the kitchen! Mmmmmmm! I also love the little matches they send - such a nice touch!

I also wanted to mention that they started using new packaging this month, and I'm really happy about it! Previously I have always received a box full of shredded paper, but this time they used some paper netting, and it's so much less wasteful. Plus it doesn't get everywhere! I suppose I would not have liked it as much if my candles had arrived broken, but so far, so good!

flicker-box-apr-apple-pie

Southern Apple Pie by 4th St. Candle Co. - Value $12

This is the big candle for April, and it smells just like the real thing! Plus 4th St. Candle Co.'s candles are made with GMO free pure soy wax, no dye, cotton and paper wicks, and pthalate-free fragrances.

flicker-box-apr-blood-orange

Blood Orange + Citrus Mini Jar by Paddywax - Value $10

Blood orange is one of my favorite aromas in the whole world! This candle smells great, but it's actually a bit subtle when burned. I guess I would always prefer they go stronger with the blood orange!

flicker-box-apr-ginger

Wild Ginger Mini Tin by Lights Out - Value $7

Ginger is another scent I absolutely love! This one also seems to have some light but supportive floral notes. I've received candles from Lights Out before in Flicker Box, and they are the kind that smell amazing but not too strong when actually burning. I hope this one is at least strong enough to fill my office with ginger scent!

flicker-box-apr-lemon

No. 154 Lemon Pound Cake 4 oz. tin by Copper & Kraft - Value $6.75

I am completely and totally blown away by this candle! I expected it to smell like lemon candy, but I can actually, really smell the BUTTER! It smells so delicious! All of Copper & Craft's candles also use natural soy wax and have lead-free wicks.

flicker-box-apr-coupons

This month's Flicker Box also came with two coupons: 10% off 4th Street Candle Co., and $5 off $25 at Copper & Kraft. Bonus!

Verdict: This was my favorite month of Flicker Box so far! I guess I really like sweet scents! The value adds up to $35.75 which is just slightly higher than the cost of the box, so I'm happy with that. The curation of Flicker Box is always wonderful, in my opinion, and it's a great way to discover artisanal candles made with all-natural ingredients.

Which candle was your favorite this month?

Holly, I didn’t see your post last month but signed up sometime after the 15th. I was disappointed not to get the apple pie and lemon pound cake candles.

However, when I got my May box yesterday, I was very happy with my 3 flower scents! I can’t decide if the Jasmine or Lilac is my favorite and I love the Peony one also!

FYI to anyone who loves the items in this box as much as I do…I emailed them to see if they happened to have any left and if it’d be possible to subscribe and start with this month and I was told they DO have a few left and I was able to get an April box. 🙂 I’m really looking forward to this sub…I tend to trade for a lot of the items anyway so it’ll be nice to have my own!

Wow! From Syracuse NY! I’ll have to check them out I’ve never heard of them…weird to see your upstate NY city in a box!

This is my last box of my six month subscription. I got a deal back in November. I actually prefer the shreds because I save them to use in gift bags/boxes. Since I re-use them I don’t consider them wasteful. I guess I will save this new wrapping in case I ship something breakable.

I’m really happy with this month. All of the candles smell so good! I’ve been burning the Lemon Pound Cake and am in love! It really does smell like pound cake and the scent seems to linger even stronger once the candle is blown out.

For those asking, I’m not sure if this month is still available but the site doesn’t say anything about it being sold out and I’m pretty sure it did in February (about February) when I first signed up. You can send them an email at [email protected] to inquire.

I love food scented candles, but this box was more fruity to me. I love the baked breads scented ones, cakes, etc. But really glad they tried the food scents. The packaging was cool too, I always toss all the shredded paper and feel so wasteful. I got a Gilt City deal and pay like $13 a box, which is really awesome, but I haven’t been overly impressed by any of the candles. Once it runs out I won’t renew it, there are other candles made locally that I love and smell great.

I am always tempted by this one. Maybe after I move in July, so I have some nice candles for the new house!

This is certainly the month that tempts me to dive in – I just love sweet/food smelling candles.
If I sign up now, would I get this exact box, does anyone know?

EC

I would venture a guess that you won’t get this box. They tend to sell out a month prior and only source the exact number of candles needed for the following month. Maybe that’s changed since my sub ended in Feb but that was pretty much how it worked dating back to Sep 2014.

Thanks EC, at least I know it would be a surprise May box if I signed up now.

I was just thinking about if I want to try this sub box and then your post popped up! Is that a sign? lol

This month really appeals to me! (March, not so much) and I’ve recently been getting into candles. Do you know if I can still get the April box? For $25 for the first box, I think I would try this one…
