Le Parcel Subscription Box Review – March 2015 Box

Le Parcel is a time-of-the-month subscription box that sends you your choice of pads and/or tampons, plus a few chocolates and other items.

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Le Parcel Subscription Box Review – March 2015 Items

The Subscription Box: Le Parcel

The Cost: $15 a month plus shipping

The Products: Your choice of 25 pads/tampons/panty liners, plus chocolates and few other items.

Ships to: US ($5 shipping) Canada ($7 shipping)

Le Parcel Subscription Box Review – March 2015 Pads

5 Pads/Liners/Tampons – Value $5?

When you’re signing up for a subscription, you get to select how many of each category item you want. They feature the brands: Tampax, Kotex, Playtex, OB, and Always.

Le Parcel Subscription Box Review – March 2015 Chocolate

Knot Chocolate Truffles - Value $6

My husband said this was some of the best chocolate he's ever had. (I can't eat dairy, so I just got to be jealous).

Le Parcel Subscription Box Review – March 2015 Fig Yarrow

My Kitsch Hair Ties - Value $12

I love getting hair ties in subscription boxes, and I like that this set is a mix of basic and sparkly black ties.

Fig + Yarrow Rose + Vanilla Lip Tint - Value $10

I love seeing Fig + Yarrow in subscription boxes! This lip tint is very lightly tinted, and it is very moisturizing. I can really only detect the rose scent though.

Puur Foot Lotion in Fresh Peppermint (2 oz) - Value $3?

I couldn't find this item in the Puur etsy shop, so I'm using the value of a different 2 oz lotion sample. The foot lotion has a really refreshing peppermint scent, and I wish they still sold the full size version in their shop!

Verdict: I think the time-of-the-month boxes get their value from both the convenience and the other items they offer in addition to pads/tampons. With this box I'm really impressed with the extra add-ons. (Reaching out to the company, I found out that all subscribers will receive 2-3 extra gifts in their boxes in addition to the pads/tampons and chocolate. And looking at Le Parcel pictures on Instagram, there is some variation in items subscribers may receive).

What do you think of Le Parcel?

Avoid Le Parcel like the plague…. I ordered my box 2.5 weeks in advance….It was two weeks late. I emailed, messaged, and called because my credit card was charged two days after I ordered. The so called “customer service” is a joke. She blamed the delay on their shipping company. When the box finally came it had the date that I called and left a message saying I had not gotten my box so clearly they had not filled the order on time. It came with the appropriate feminine care products, but the whole point of the subscription is to get the tampons on time (DUH) and to feel pampered. My box came with three Lindt truffles which were all melted and leaking in the bag- at least they were in one- and a ridiculous sample size “nail therapy” thing. Totally disappointed and afraid to try other subscription services.

I had a similar experience with Le Parcel. They were awful. I think you would love Bonjour Jolie, and should give them a chance!

So, I decided to sign up. After my welcome box was 1 week late, I sent an email. Three days later I received a response that they would question the shipping department. Seven days later, no package, no response. Since Aunt flow had come and gone, I sent them another email requesting a refund and cancelation of my subscription. Three days later they respond and will refund and cancel. I received the refund quickly and I thought that was that. Well, today I came home to my welcome package! And the postage is dated the same date as their last response. I just sent them another email to verify that my subscription is, indeed, canceled. And how can I mail this package back? I did look inside, and it had sunglasses, (which I can’t wear), three Lindt truffles (cheap), a small notebook, a lip balm and my items. I really like the idea of a fun menses monthly box, but the customer service was severely lacking so I felt I had no choice but to cancel.

SCREW LE PARCEL. They sent Lindt chocolates! I can buy those at the grocery store for 10 cents! Knot truffles are $2/each and usually sold out. If you’re going to send me something worth 5% of the value of what I’m expecting, I better be getting more quantity!

THEY ONLY SENT 3 TRUFFLES STILL. I used a coupon and still feel like I was robbed. The tampons I could buy for $6, the hair ties are at Big Lots for $2, and at most the sample size bath products are worth a couple of dollars. Even with the price of shipping there’s nowhere near enough value in this box.

DON’T BUY LE PARCEL.

If they were still sending knot truffles those would add $6 of value to the box, but they don’t. They send you LESS THAN FIFTY CENTS worth of chocolate!

I ended up ordering both Le Parcel and Bonjour Jolie for my daughter to try them out. We received the Bonjour Jolie in a week and WOW, the items and snacks were great. They even put in a discreet pouch to put the pads or liners in that will go great in her backpack, she’s only 11 so she isn’t into carrying a purse yet. She loved the chocolates, candies, and Smartfood, the necklace was so cute, and it just had a lot of little extras that made her feel good. The mesh bags they put everything are really pretty.

The Le Parcel came in yesterday and it had the pads and liners. It came with a really nice smelling packet of body scrub that she couldn’t use so I tried it, 3 small truffles, and a bottle of jasmine vanilla oil which she also can’t use but I like it. I think for older women Le Parcel is nice but for the younger ladies that Bonjour Jolie is a better match.

One thing I like about: Bonjour Jolie is you can order the box without the pads or tampons, $14 with free shipping. Always has lots of goodies =)

For time of the month boxes, I don’t think Bonjour Jokie can be beat. I’ve subscribed to them for several months now and I love their boxes. Their customer service is great. And the boxes really do make you feel pampered. Look up some of their unboxing videos. The items always come in these totally cute bags that I save. I have loved all the jewelry items I’ve received. And the pampering items are always so nice too. Plus they even cater to gluten free. I have celiac disease, so they always send me snacks I can actually eat. This box here looks nice, but I don’t feel nearly as pampered looking at it, I think it’s missing the theme that bonjour Jolie has every month. I’ve often wondered why you don’t do reviews of them any more than the couple you did a long time ago? I really love their box, and I’m in my 40’s!

I used to s subscribe to le parcel. I used to set my period a week earlier than it really was and always got my stuff on time. I got bored so I unsubscribed, but I really miss the chocolates so I may resubscribe.

Autumn

Don’t subscribe! I made the mistake of resubscribing and they didn’t send ME knot chocolates! I got cheap lindt chocolates, and still ONLY THREE!

That’s nowhere near the quality of value of knot chocolates! I wish I’d never subscribed! Their “gifts” were a few sample sized products! They are a rip off and I wish I’d never given them my money.

I have had issues with their shipping and do NOT recommend signing up – I never received my February or march boxes, in spite of contacting customer service and ensuring my information was accurate. I was also told I would receive a complimentary box which never arrived. I cancelled my subscription, what a frustrating rip off!

The exact same thing happened to me. Their customer service sucks. They told me there was nothing they could do to help me when my packages were lost in the mail. How about re-sending them because they should have been insured? DON’T SUBSCRIBE!

I’ve never heard of this, but it sounds really convenient. I’m signing up. Thanks!

FYI….the coupon code above didn’t work for me. I signed up anyway, just wanted to let you know.

I just tried it and the discount was applied bringing my total to $16

March was my first box for this subscription. I received completely different gifts but I was very happy with them. I received a nails treatment, a pair of earrings, and a full-size tube of Blue Q hand cream. My box did arrive very late, but hopefully that was a one-time issue.

I order the Bonjour Jolie box for my 14 year old daughter and she loves it. Their customer service has always been on point. They do a similiar service but you get a treat bag, a pampering bag and a gift usually a piece of jewelry once a scarf in addition to your monthly supplies. Price point similiar to this box.

I agree with Kenya, def one last thing to worry about and I like the 20% off code to try it out. I’m going to order this for my daughter as a pick me up for that time of the month. Does anyone know if they send tampons as an extra? She is still young and I only want her to receive pads.

sonya

No, you can choose from tampons, pads and liners. I ordered for my daughter and chose the last two only. You also get to choose your brand and how many of each you’d like to receive up to 25 as your max amount

Thanks so much Sonya 🙂 That is great. She only likes the liners and pads from Always, so I’m really happy I can choose the brand for her.
Thanks again!

Christy

Did you really only get 5 pads or tampons? Aren’t you supposed to receive 25 in a box?

Reply ButtonReply

Chantel

I read 5 in the review and thought seriously??? Who only needs 5 pads per month. I see now at the top of the review it says 25. That seems more realistic 🙂

I just pulled some out of the bag to show what’s in the bag – I did receive 25.

Really thinking about subbing to this. The convenience of not having to go to the store for feminine products makes it totally worth it for me!

Just a heads up, I’ve had some trouble with LeParcel’s shipping and customer service. They initially offered a free one month trial, so I signed up, but never got the package. It got lost in the mail. So I purchased the following month, which was supposed to arrive on or before April first. I still have not received it. Each time I’ve contacted their customer service, they apologize but say they have no control over the shipment once they mail it so I just have to wait and see if I get it. So while I cannot comment on the quality of the product, their customer service has not been great.

That has happen to me too as well, not from Le Parcel but another subscription call Angel Beauty Box they never sent two month worth of packages, and when I call their costumer service they give me the run around and block me from calling them. So I know how you feel.

I just got my first Tom Box (formerly Swagg Box) for $8 (half off coupon) and I loved it! This looks really good too and I might try it next – will use Tom Box 1-2 more times to see if I feel it’s worth $16.

Wow, these extras are on point. Not a big fan of these time-of-month boxes just because of the cost, but this one looks good!

I’m been thinking about trying Bonjour Jolie, but I like the assortment here much better. If they offer Always Infinity, I’ll definitely give them a try.
