Power Up Box Subscription Box Review - April 2015 Box

Power Up Box is a brand new subscription box in the geek and gamer genre. (AKA my husband's favorite type of subscription box). They offer two different tiers of subscriptions: Premium (6-9 items a month), or Deluxe (4-6 items).

This review is of the Premium subscription.

Power Up Box Subscription Box Review - April 2015 Shirt

Batman Tee - Value $12?

There's no label on this tee, so I can't tell if it was made exclusively for the box, but my husband likes it. I also like that the fabric is thinner than some of the more heavy duty cottons some geeky boxes send.

Power Up Box Subscription Box Review - April 2015 Batman

Funko Fabrikations in Batman - Retail Value $19.99 (On Amazon for $12.38)

This is our first Funko plush and it is awesome. The feet are weighted so Batman stands on his own, and it is already on display in my husband's office.

Power Up Box Subscription Box Review - April 2015 Marvel Mini

Funko Marvel Mystery Mini - Value $9 (On Amazon for $7.40)

Pocket POP! Raphael - Value $9

These items are both new to my husband's collection so that's a big win! (He loves all things Marvel, Batman and TMNT, so this box feels like it was made for him!)

Power Up Box Subscription Box Review - April 2015 Comic

Batman Arkham Knight Comic - Value $3.99

I believe we received this same comic in the March 2015 Arcade Block - it had a different custom cover though.

Power Up Box Subscription Box Review - April 2015 Spiderman

The Amazing Spiderman 2 Lollipop Rings - Value $2

These are probably the one item in the box that won't be used - they'll go in the gift/swap pile.

Power Up Box Subscription Box Review - April 2015 Swag

This box also came with a Power Up Box bag, lanyard, and pin. (Value $5 total?)

Verdict: We were so impressed with this box! The value is about $54, which I think is pretty good for the $40 total cost of this box. More importantly for us - almost every item was a hit! What do you think of Power Up Box?

Deluxe box was a bust. T-shirt, Raphael keychain, lanyard, candy and Batman Napkins. Not worth it.

I was happy with my Deluxe box. It also came with a with a Walking Dead series 3 mystery mini, which easily raises the value in my perspective by $10. You won’t always love your boxes when they are mysteries 🙂 I’d rather have rather stick with a geek subscription company that sends you more than a box filled with paper.
