BoxyCharm Beauty Subscription Box Review – May 2015

I’m so disapointed! I got the coral lipstick and the bright green nailpolish. I wanted the purple one SO BADLY. I may have to finally use the swap site…

I received a Coral lipstick “Kiss me” and a pretty Blue nail polish 🙂 I love the bronzer too!! I thought I was going to be disappointed this month, but I’m very pleased now that I’ve tried all of the products.

I wasn’t too excited about this box at first but….

The nailpolish is LITERALLY the best formula I have ever used. I’ve been wearing it for 3 days now..no base coat, no top coat..and I have only the most minuscule chip on my right index finger. Plus, I got the shade Sunset Tower and it is the prettiest color in my collection!!!! I am IN LOVE even the point where I might buy more colors (using a coupon code, of course)

Also, I was amazed at how pretty the lipstick looks (I also received the color Purple Rain). I have very fair skin and dark brown hair and I could actually see myself wearing this color out running errands..not just for a night out. Somehow it doesn’t look as dramatic on me as it does in the tube.

This is the reason I subscribe to these boxes– to try new things! And this month was a hit because it exposed me to two products I wouldn’t have purchased otherwise.

I am disappointed with the whole box. The brow palette is too dark. I got the ugly coral lipstick and an even uglier green nail polish. I don’t like bronzer with shimmer. Usually I love Boxycharm. Hopefully next month is better or I might cancel. I really need to cut back on my subs anyway. I have way too much make up and skin care items.

Was so excited to receive my 1st boxycharm…I received the eye brow brush, bronzer (covered in eye brow shadow) a shattered eye brow shadow, nail polish and a #2 pencil ( in the place of the lipstick which was missing. They basically only responded once (it’s been a week) saying well…the box weighed what it was supposed to. REALLY? I sent pictures of the opened box, broken item and pencil lol. I am on the fence about staying even another month after their sheer lack of customer service. I understand broken things happen and from what I read here, it’s almost monthly but I should not have to wait a month to receive my broken and missing item. At this point I want to ship them my wreck of a box back for a credit due to their non responding customer service

Got my box today and so did my mama. We both got coral lipstick. My mom really wanted the purple. But I am fine with either. We really love boxy charm!!

I really liked the brow powder and brush to apply. The lightest color is perfect for me. The other 2 that are way too dark I will use for eyeshadow so it is a win win. The bronzer was way too shimmery for me. Would probably look better on a tanner complexion. The nail polish was beautiful pastel pink! I dig the packaging of the lipstick. I remember seeing the lip bar creators on the tv show Shark Tank so was happy to see their product. The color I received did not look good on me ( which was kiss me red) but I love the formula of the product. Overall 3 out of 5 is not bad 🙂

My Brow product game destroyed and I can’t find on the BC website how to contact them. Has this happened to anyone else, and will they give me some type of credit/replacement for it? They sure don’t make it easy to contact them. I did reply to 2 different emails I got from them regarding my shipment, but haven’t gotten any responses yet. thanks!

This is my favorite box so far! I will use everything, my box comes today and I’m dying for the purple lippie!

I just ordered. I REALLY hope I get the purple lipstick, it looks awesome! If not I may have to try the swap site for the first time haha.

That lipstick is amazing!!

Did anyone get a lipstick shade other than purple rain?? The only shade I’ve seen is purple rain, definitely not my favorite box at all. I don’t use bronzer or the brow products, I got cotton candy nail polish, don’t like pastels. Swapped the whole thing.

If you just touch the brush to the color, the brow powder goes on lighter, brush well with the spiral end to blend into you natural brows. It takes a soft touch to do this and the product will last forever. Can’t use the color of the lipstick, got the coral, but the light pink nail polish is nice. Great box. I spend the cost of the box on brow stuff alone usually and the course brush is excellent.

This box and the BeautyFix both sent out brow items which I don’t use — but I did read somewhere that the Boxycharm product can also be used as eyeshadow…

I guess anyone who didn’t get to try Lauren B from Boxycharm’s July 2014’s box would get to have it this month. It’s a pretty shade.

Boxycharm proved me wrong. I went in positive I would hate every product except the polish, as I’ve never received a lipstick that works on my skin color, i’ve never even touched my eyebrows with tweezers, let alone powder, and bronzer?? I’m already bronzed! But I was crazy wrong. I got the same purple, and not only does it look great on me, it also looks great on my China doll colored sister! I think the key is knowing a little bit goes a LONG way. just dab it on with your finger or a brush, then cover it with some gloss (i covered it with benefits posy tint and then some chapstick. Prettiest dang color I’ve ever seen) The brow powder I used on the one not so full area of my brows, the bend, and the middle color is perfect. I honestly that unless you’ve got blacker then black hair, the middle shade is as dark as you need to go. The brush is just a brush. The bronzer is literally the exact same color as my skin, so I just use it as a blush when I dont really want color so much as shimmer, which is my typical summer look. And then there’s the polish. Nude peach is not bold, I’m sorry. All those fun summery colors, and I get beige?? I was soooo hoping for the green or the coral, too. But oh well, looks like I’ve got another under the glitter polish. All in all a very nice box, and if this is what a bad box looks like from boxycharm, I chose boxes very well!

I want a purple lipstick! I received one from one of the Eco Emi specialty boxes and can’t find it.

This is my 1st Boxycharm and I tried everything in the box. The brow shadow is just to dark on my eyebrows. I’ve tried blending the colors and still no go. I do like the brush. Never used bronzer before and I love it! Just a little goes great! The purple lipstick is very intense but I line the bottom lip and apply clear gloss over it and it looks good! The nail polish is nude Sunset and its blah! Not bold or beautiful! Lol! I used it with Juleps sparkle polish and bam! Looks way better!
I’m a monthly sub. Hopefully I get more use out of the next box.

I got the exact same box. I love the lippie (I use a brush to put just a little bit on so I don’t over do it with the pigmentation) and the brow products.
I’m not a fan of the bronzer, I’m definitely passing it off to my sister because it’s way to warm and dark for my skin tone (dang porcelain skin). Other than that I really liked this months box, not my favorite but I liked it.

This is my third month with Boxycharm and this has been my least favorite box. I got a coral lip color that does not work well with my skin tone. My polish color is a nude peachy color, not my favorite. I am on bronzer overload. The brow brush and product made up for the two other misses though. I still think this subscription offers an amazing value.

I wasn’t as happy as I usually am when I opened my box at first, but I’m really loving the brow powder and brush now. I also like the bronzer, and think it’s definitely a good thing to include now that the weather’s getting warmer.

The two items I didn’t really love are the lipstick and nail polish. The lipstick color is way too bold for me, and the nail polish color seems generic to me.

Liz, I can finally say we are box twins! I wasn’t sure what to think of the purple lipstick but when I tried it on at home it actually felt very smooth and moisturizing. I’m going to try it out the next time I have Happy Hour with the girls.

Drugstore beauty items? I don’t think so…
