Beauty DNA Subscription Box Review – June 2015 Cream

MyBody Youth Overnight Anti-Aging Night Repair Cream - Retail Value $110

The formula of this night-cream is free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, sulfates and FD&C dyes. It's also more light-weight than I was expecting for a night cream - it absorbed super quickly too. It does have added fragrance, but the scent is clean enough that it doesn't bother me.

Verdict: The MyBody line is new to me, and I'm excited to get to try a $110 night cream for $25! This is one of the highest value boxes I've ever received from Beauty DNA, and I think getting full size skincare products is the best perk of this subscription - I love being able to test and use something for enough time to see if it actually works for me and improves my skin.

What do you think of Beauty DNA? What product did you receive this month?

Am I the only one who signed up for the ruelala deal and has not received the June order? I’ve emailed several times with no reply

did you try emailing Beauty DNA or Rue La La? I had to email Beauty DNA when I was doing mine and they emailed me back within an hour and were really helpful.

Did you follow the instructions given in the email sent by Rue la la? With everything I’ve purchased through them you get a voucher number which you then redeem at the website you want. So, I received an email with a link and code number. I linked to Beauty DNA, put in my voucher code, filled out their long survey and received my Hydroxatone within days. Look back in your email for a confirmation email and be Sure to follow the instructions!

Yes I followed all the instructions

Claudia

I imagine that if you’re in a real bind Liz cadman may able to intercede on your behalf.

I just received my first box from the Rue La La deal and I’m very pleased to receive Hydroxatone Celtrixa Intensive Stretch Mark Treament, 3 oz bottle. It has a retail price of $79.95. I also received the Phyto botanical hair relaxing balm. It’s been very humid in Austin so I’ll be testing it out soon!

My June box contained Peter Lamas Rice Volumizing Conditioner (RV $20) and Theraplax Hydrolotion ((RV $16.50) The conditioner is rich, smells a bit like Sweettarts candy and left me hair feeling very full. The lotion is smooth and non-greasy with no smell. I’ve been getting Beauty DNA for about 6 months and this month’s was the best match yet. There have been months when the product retail value was higher these are both products that I will probably buy again.

Got my first item from the Rue La La deal. They did a great job of matching me with a brightening, all-natural cleanser, but if I had paid the full price of the sub I would have been really disappointed in the value. It was only $35.

Oh it could have been worse, I paid full price and got an item that I could have bought for $17 and another for $21 (out of 4 months).

They told me that I had the wrong idea and that people do not buy this for the value but the usefulness of the products. Well, I got unuseful items 2/4 months. One being a brillo pad strength face cleansers for oily skin and I am a 52 year old woman. The other unuseful product smelled like mold and I am allergic to molds. No way I would try that.. And since their tester also smelled moldy, I got no replacement.

I enjoy reading everyone’s selections. I loved my subscription when I had it last year. They did a great job in matching me with items that I can use.

I got June Jacobs Skin Care Anti-Aging Blemish Control Foaming Cleanser. $48 retail value. So not the highest retail value I’ve ever gotten from BeautyDNA. But possibly the best match ever, based on my particular skincare concerns.

And the anti-frizz hair balm but I can use that. It’s summer in Georgia and it’s humid.

I got this one too! I signed up with the Rue La La deal and I’m really happy with how well this product matched my top skin concerns. The product pamphlet says it retails for $48, but on Amazon it’s $37. Still happy with it though 🙂

That’s exactly what I needed…something for anti-aging and acne…but I got cleanser for oily skin and acne. Sigh. This is not off to a good start. Off to see what I put that made them think I had oily skin….

ETA $38 retail value…sigh….

I got my 5th BeautyDNA this month and all of them have been amazing value. The only problem is that now I have too many nice full-sized moisturizers! This month was Hydroaxetone AM/PM cream (probably the least dollar value I’ve gotten at $69). I’m loving it for night-time but it’s too greasy for day. People have mentioned getting self-tanning products: what did you select on your questionnaire to receive those?

I signed up for the Rue La La deal and just got the Hydroaxetone AM/PM cream for my first product and just used it 5 minutes ago. Definitely rich and creamy going on but seems to be soaking in well. Fingers crossed that it helps reduce my fine lines / crows feet around my eyes!

There’s a question on one of the pages of the beauty profile that asks if you use self-tanning products. I think it’s one of those drop-down questions at the bottom of the pages.

I just got my Rue Lala Beauty DNA today too! First one ever for me and they did a good job! I got Equitance Brightening and Toning Lotion ($50). I have acne scarring and sun spots that I don’t like and they say this product should help…found decent reviews of it online too. Excited to try it. Never used a toner before.

Then I think as part of the Rue LaLa deal I got an extra sample, mine is a Phyto Paris anti-frizz hair relaxing balm…I definitely don’t need hair relaxing since mine is straight and fine, but could try it one day for the heck of it I guess. lol Can’t complain it’s not useful if it was just a random freebie anyway.

I just received my first box with the Rue La La deal. I have a GM Collin A.G.E. Total Defence cream based on my request for paraben-free anti-aging and a fair complexion (plus the sample Phyto hair balm). It says it has a RV of $112. Overall this seems like a great match for me. The personalized card says we can update our Beauty Profile and Top Five selection anytime to get a better fit on future shipments.

I got my first item from the rue la la deal. It was very fast shipping after I filled out my profile (which was super detailed). I received an Olie biologique Huile Hydrating Oil ($78) which matches my profile preference pretty well and says it improves rosacea so I am excited to try. Also received the hair balm sample. Same sample item must be sent out to everyone since I did not check any hair products. Great deal, so thanks for posting!

I purchased the Rue La La deal. I have reached out to customer service twice, requesting an estimated ship date. I have not received a response to my email or the voicemail.

I received my first BeautyDNA today, I took advantage of the RueLaLa discount, too. The product is Coola’s Environmental Repair Plus Fresh Relief Face Serum. I really like how much detail is included in their brochure, it says the product retails for $68.00 & I think it is a great summer product. I can definitely see the customization & it is a great feature. My question is – for those of you that have been using BeautyDNA for awhile how often do you repurchase their recommended products?

Cindy H.

I also purchased the Rue La La deal and redeemed the same day. I havent heard anything from Beauty DNA yet. When I logged in to their website, it just showed coming soon. Hope i can receive it soon.

Ragan

Did you fill out all the profile questions? They might not send anything until you do that.

Reply ButtonReply

Cindy

I definitely think they will not send without the questionnaire being completed. In fact, I believe I received a welcome email stating this.

Ragan

Mine might come today (from the Rue La La deal — tracking is a little ambiguous). I was getting really good items before (regularly $80 or $90 retail values) so I have high hopes for it.

I received the Skyn Iceland Pure Cloud Cream. It retails for $55 but I just don’t see myself using it. If anyone wants to buy or swap it with me please let me know. My email is McBride_mcdevitt @ yahoo.com

That was my very first item from BeautyDNA. It was so light I didn’t think I’d like it….but I did. I’ve used almost all of it. (Sorry, don’t need more.)

My first box from the Rue LaLa deal came today. I got Elysee Youthspan Facial Resurrection Serum. Kind of odd but it seems like this is only sold on QVC. (I don’t do QVC so know nothing about it but that’s what came up when I googled the item.) It has a value of $48 which is not the highest valued item I’ve ever received from BeautyDNA but a respectable value. The ‘add on’ (which seems to be the same for everyone I’ve seen posted) is Phyto botanical hair relaxing balm (anti-friz). This doesn’t go at all with my profile so not sure what’s up with that!

Stacie

I received the same serum as you did in the mail today. Looks like they sell it on Hsn and it has pretty good reviews along with the other Elysee products they sale. I’m excited to give something new a try. I am a little worried because when I filled out the survey, I chose fragrance free as my preference but I hope I am not excluded from very lightly scented products that are high quality like the product Liz received this month.

Dana

I ordered the Rue La La deal, too (first time using that website)…. How do I order the Beauty DNA 2 month subscription box now? I don’t think I ever received a code to enter. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Cindy

I forgot to mention: Liz I got a neck product from that brand for one of my boxes. It was excellent so I look forward to hearing your experience with this product.

Ragan

I got that in my second box from BeautyDNA (last year?). I really liked it. (I don’t need more though — I’m in moisturizer overload right now.)
