Bespoke Post Review & Coupon – June 2015 “Copper” Box

Bespoke Post is a monthly men’s subscription box. It’s a very high-quality box, and most of their selections are gender-neutral so I’d say my husband and I love this box equally!

Unlike most subscription boxes, you get to preview the new Bespoke Post box offerings on the first of each month, and you can easily skip any month you aren’t interested in your account section.

This month we picked the Copper box and the Roam box. (Check out my review of the Roam box if you missed it!)

Each box comes with a fold out sheet detailing the items included and it usually has tips on how to one or more of the items. This box also came with a drink recipes card for making a Moscow Mule, Motown Mule, and Black Apple Mule.

Bespoke Post Review & Coupon – June 2015 “Copper” Mugs

Line of Trade Hammered Copper Mugs - Value $40

These mugs are made of 100% copper, and I love the rustic hammered design!

Bespoke Post Review & Coupon – June 2015 “Copper” Ginger Syrup

Liber & Co. Fiery Ginger Syrup - Value $8

We've sampled a few Liber & Co. syrups thanks to subscription boxes - and I've loved every one of them!

Bespoke Post Review & Coupon – June 2015 “Copper” Bag

Ice Mallet and Lewis Bag - Value $10?

These were included to crush ice cubes. (I'm guessing on the value since they aren't for sale in Bespoke Post's shop).

Verdict: I'm really happy we decided to go with two boxes this month - I really love this Copper box. My mom's favorite drink is the Moscow Mule, so I'm going to use this cocktail set with her the next time she comes over!

What do you think of the Bespoke Post "Copper" Box? (FYI - this box is still available).

I actually opted for the Copper box as much for the mallet and Lewis bag as for the copper mugs. Based on searching for similar items in the past, I’d say they have a value of about $25 – believe it or not! You’d definitely would pay that or more if you tried to find these 2 items premade online somewhere. Of course, if you have some basic sewing skills, you can make a canvas bag with cinch tie yourself but given the cost of material these days that will still set you back $5 plus. Ditto if you had some carpenter skills and just had to buy the wood to make a mallet. More importantly, though, a Lewis bag and mallet work really well for their intended purpose. I personally much prefer using this setup to crush ice than a blender. Not only does it get the job done quickly without the use of electricity and with basically no clean up (other than later throwing the bag in the laundry), it also has the added bonus of letting you take out a bit of aggression. Seriously, try it; you’ll like it!

Love this box! Does anyone know if copper mugs require any special care or treatment? I’d love to own a set, but I’m not sure I’m game for a lot of upkeep. I’m okay with hand washing, but I can’t see myself polishing them regularly…

Thanks for the review! Are the mugs lined at all with nickel or tin? Or are they copper on the interior too? I would love these mugs for the summer. I had been looking at some on Amazon but they were lined with nickel and some reviews were saying the linings were coming off so now I’m all worried!

No lining – just copper! This is a good thing.

They include care instructions in the box for the mugs. They say copper naturally develops a patina over time, but is easy enough to polish up. One of the coolest weirdest things they said was you can use ordinary ketchup(!) to polish the copper. The vinegar and acid in the ketchup work well on copper, so they say. I can’t wait to try that out! The mugs really are beautiful in person, and when they are cold with the ice, they develop condensation on the outside that looks like encrusted sparkly gems..lol. I love them.

My husband (and I, of course) got this box this month, too. My favorite drink ever is the Moscow Mule and I can’t wait to try the variations! The only thing I didn’t love about this box was the syrup – it wasn’t fiery or gingery enough for my tastes. I think next time I’m going to try mixing vodka and lime with Red Rock ginger beer. An Atlanta Mule?
