Nerd Block Subscription Box Review + Coupon – June 2015 - info

This month's theme was British Invasion! The Mr. Bean spoilers had me super excited for this box!

On the flip side of the card, all the items included are detailed.

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review + Coupon – June 2015 - Mr. Bean

Mr. Bean Teddy - Value $10-15

Let's start with my absolute favorite item in the box - Mr. Bean's Teddy! If you are a Mr. Bean fan, you know that this Teddy is as iconic as the man himself. Upon opening, I immediately snapped a photo and texted a fellow Mr. Bean fan - so many memories! I couldn't find this exact Teddy online, it's made by 'Fiesta', so I had to ballpark the value with comparable Teddies available for purchase.

Mr. Bean Bendable - Value $8

An awesome representation of Mr. Bean! With Teddy in pocket and all! These two items had me absolutely geeking out.

Nerd Block Subscription Box Review + Coupon – June 2015 - doctor-who

Doctor Who Titan Figure - Value $10-15

This is the Titan of the 10th Doctor. It's also a Nerd Block Exclusive (The glasses seem to be the differentiator from the non-exclusive version), hence the value range - I've only seen it available on eBay. Nerd Block has been including more and more Titan vinyl figures of late - I can't remember getting a Titan in other geek boxes, but they are, at least, much more frequent in Nerd Block.

Monty Magnets - Value $10

I *think* this is an exclusive as well. I love the inclusion of Monty Python into a British themed box. It just makes sense. Most importantly, you have the capability of wording out "Your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elderberries" with these! Win!

Whovian Art Print - Value ?

This is an exclusive. Most of these Dr. Who prints are blue, like mine, but the info card says that a select few are green as well. Anyone out there get a green?

ShirtPunch Sherlock 'Bored' T-shirt - Value $10?

This ShirtPunch design is exclusive for this month's Nerd Block. We love the BBC Sherlock show, it had been a while since we've last watched, so I admit I had to google the reference. But, then I instantly remembered, and Liz and I had a good laugh.

Verdict: I absolutely love the Mr. Bean stuff this month. I used to love watching old Mr. Bean episodes, so I'm immediately biased towards loving this box! While I don't watch Dr. Who, the items are always so easily giftable or swappable. It certainly looks as if the trend for geek boxes is moving toward most, if not all, products being exclusives. I can't argue with that, but it does make valuing items pretty difficult.

What do you think of this month's Nerd Block?

I got the green variant, which I was able to swap very quickly. I agree that I would have loved something HP, but otherwise this was a very successful box for me in terms of gifting – one niece loves Mr Bean, the other loves Sherlock, my BFF is getting the Monty Python magnets, and my brother will get the Doctor figure. I just wish there were something for me – LOL!

This is my second Nerd Block and I have not been that impressed with the themes – unfortunately for me they are not my fandoms, lucky for my friends, it is theirs and they get to get free things from me… I am not a fan of Mr. Bean at all and agreed with the reviewer above who says he is not funny – I am a collector of teddy bear’s though, so that was the one thing from the box I kept for myself. Also, was VERY disappointed in a British themed box that did not have one Harry Potter item!! I’m keeping my subscription for now, but will see if the themes improve. All this being said, I have a ladies 2XL tshirt for swap and the monty python magnets.

Hello,

I am not on the swap site, but I would dearly love to buy the t-shirt and/or magnets if they are still available. My email is [email protected]. Thank you!

I got the green variation of the Doctor Who print! And the 10th Doctor figurine (but I would have preferred the TARDIS).

All in all, I’m glad I reactivated my subscription for this box. I’ve never been a Mr Bean fan, but I love the teddy bear and the Sherlock shirt is my favorite subscription box tshirt so far.

I went for this box as I’m English and thought I’d enjoy a taste of home. I may be weird, but I find Mr. Bean spectacularly unfunny, such a waste of Rowan Atkinson’s considerable talent. Watch ‘Blackadder’ for some real humour!
One item made the box for me, the Monty Python phrases. Such a gem! Everything else is up for swap. Did you send me a request for the teddy Tamara?

Tamara

Aaaactually, I received a swap request yesterday from someone who has the bear. I actually gasped when I saw it. 😀 If that doesn’t go through, I’ll look you up. 🙂

I’m with you in the Blackadder love. I found it will before Mr. Bean. Honestly, I wasn’t super crazy about the first season, but the second and third almost killed me with the funny. 😀

Yes, he was even funnier being smart and supercilious than the earlier version of a pudding-bowl haired twerp. And Baldrick the peasant is the best!

Rachel

Thank you Helen, I am going to look into Blackadder!

I cannot express how much I wish I had signed up for this box. Am attempting to trade for Mr. Bean’s teddy, right now!

I got this box because of doctor who, the 10th is my favorite! You should try watching it, because it is awesome.

Eric Cadman

Where do you suggest is best to start? The modern version, or the old old ones?

Reply ButtonReply

JacLyn

Yes! You should definitely watch Doctor Who. 😀 I’d say start with the current series (2005) and the 9th Doctor. He’s my favorite, with the 10th a close second. After you catch up, you can go back through the older shows, or watch Torchwood or The Sarah Jane Adventures. 🙂

Also, I got a green print! This whole box was amazing. I’m still stoked I have Mr. Bean’s bear. 😀

I like the GIF you included.
