Power Up Box Subscription Box Review – June 2015 - dorbz

Rocket Raccoon Dorbz Vinyl Figure - Value $12

I would expect more and more Dorbz in upcoming geek boxes. This is a new Funko/Vinyl Sugar line - I received my first ever Dorbz in the first Marvel Collector's Corps box. I don't have Rocket yet, so this is a new addition to the collection.

Power Up Box Subscription Box Review – June 2015 - groot

Marvel Groot #1 - Value $2-3

Rocket's partner in crime makes an appearance in my box as well! I almost bought this at the comic store two weeks ago. Between not buying this or Jurassic Park, and subsequently getting them both in a subscription box, maybe my superpower is subscription box item foresight? This is Groot's first ever appearance in his own series, it's brand new too - just released in early June. I love getting comics in these boxes, but more importantly, I love getting the first issue in a run! It's tough to jump into later issues!

Monopoly T-shirts -  Value $10-15 each

These are both officially licensed HASBRO t-shirts. Surprisingly, I couldn't find these exact shirts online to provide a value. All of my Monopoly memories end with someone's passive aggressive anger towards another player. Oh the memories!

Power Up Box Subscription Box Review – June 2015 - jelly-belly

NECA Scaler Potted Groot - Value $5

Baby Groot appearance! I love these NECA scalers, I've swapped for a couple too. I have more than enough cords for them to scale around my work station.

Bean Boozled Jelly Beans - Value $4

Liz loved watching me try the Harry Potter Every Flavour Beans. These are pretty much the same idea - except with a new 'Stinky Socks' flavor. I'm not sure that I'm brave enough to try these after my first, and only, experience. I simply can't risk getting the 'Canned Dog Food' flavor.

Power Up Box Subscription Box Review – June 2015 - soda

DeadWorld Orange Roamer Soda - Value ?

From their website - "DeadWorld soda is a limited edition release of all natural soda featuring original artwork from the artists of the DeadWorld Comic Series". I'm not familiar with the comic series, I was hoping that the book was an issue, but it's not. The book seems like it's just an ad for all the flavors available, but it does explain the characters and their traits - and some sweet artwork. As for the soda - I don't drink soda anymore, but I was curious of what an all natural orange soda tasted like, and it's great!

VERDICT: This is our third Power Up Box. Each one has been a hit with me, and they've always included a Funko product in each box so far. We've received a Fabrikation, a POP, and now a Dorbz character - so that is a win for me. I like all the items in the box, there was almost a Guardians of the Galaxy theme forming here - and I'd love to see them theme their boxes in the future!

The bad flavors in Beanboozled are way worse than the bad ones in the Harry Potter packs. lol.

I wish these boxes had the common sense to bag and board the comics.

Husbands doing reviews= so great! It would be awesome to see a photo of your whole figurine collection since we know you’ve been collecting & trading for awhile! I love Jelly Bellys & I know it’s all for fun- but those flavors sound offensive!

The Monopoly shirts are great.

Those jelly beans are great for a an ice breaker/activity at a party. We’ve done that twice in the past with boxes my husband bought and both times it was a hit.

🙂

It’s cool that you are doing your own reviews . I do like Liz, but you are the one the geeky boxes are purchased for. Now if only Buckles would do his own reviews, lol.

This is a great box. I wish I had purchased it for the boys. They would had so much fun trying out the jellybeans. Jelly Belly is their favorite brand. They love Groot. I want the Monopoly shirts!

Me, too. I will admit that I cheated at Monopoly a lot as a kid, so I was probably the target of the passive aggressive anger in games with my siblings…

Also, canned dog food. Yuck. That is all my dog can eat right now due to her inflammatory bowel disease and I have had it smeared in the carpet and on my hands and ewww, if someone tried to feed me something with that flavor I would run the other direction SO fast.

My daughters like those bamboozled beans and they always make me eat them. They love to watch me make faces.

I cheated a LOT. 🙂
