Sample Society Subscription Box Review – June 2015 Info

The box comes with a mini-mag detailing each item and why Allure editors decided to include it in the box.

Sample Society Subscription Box Review – June 2015 Polish

Lauren B Beauty Nail Polish in Polo Lounge Punch - FULL SIZE! Value $18

This polish is 5-free and vegan-friendly. I have a few shades of Lauren B. Nail Polish thanks to subscription boxes, and I really like the formula, so I'm happy with this addition to the box!

St. Tropez Self Tan Express - 1.69 oz Value $11

This formula is paraben, sulfate, and phthalate free and made with natural DHA. It also has an interesting application process. After putting it on, you shower it off in 1,2 or 3 hours, depending on how dark you want the tan to be. I'm excited to try this since the sample included should actually be enough for a full application.

Sample Society Subscription Box Review – June 2015 Cotz

eSalon Perfect Ending Leave In Conditioner - 1 oz Value $3

The eSalon brand is new to me, and they also included a coupon to get 50% off personalized color. (Use coupon code samplesociety). I haven't tried the leave-in treatment yet, but I like that it is designed for color treated hair.

Cotz Face Sunscreen SPF 40 in Natural Skin Tone - .18 oz Value $2.40

This formula is supposed to work on all skin tones. It looked darker than my skin tone coming out of the tube, but it blended out to be invisible with a hint of matte finish.

Sample Society Subscription Box Review – June 2015 Brush

e.l.f. Studio Small Stipple Brush - Value $3

e.l.f. is one of my favorite brands for inexpensive makeup and tools, plus I love getting makeup brushes in subscription boxes, so this item is another win. (And usually subscription boxes send out eyeshadow brushes, so this is a nice change).

Completely Bare Wax Strips Sampler (4 strips) - Value $1

I think this is the first time I've seen wax strips included in a subscription box. In the mini mag, the editors mentioned the post-wax lavender-oil towelettes, but those aren't included in the sampler pack. I'm still interested in trying these though.

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $38. I'm happy with the value given the size of the samples (and no perfume samples this month!) What do you think of the June Sample Society box?

I wish the memberships would open up again! How do I sign up for this? I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEE the one off boxes I have bought from them. Just ordered ANOTHER September 2014 box (with the full eye cream by Restoresea).

Liz the September box is available for purchase again, or was last night at least.

Just how can we get signed up for the monthly subscription service? I REALLY love my boxes I get from them (even though just for now purchased individually).

Allure has totally taken over and is open to new subscribers.

I’m not sure if I should cancel since I got so excited what I saw in June box. Happy with the brands of the items that will be included in July box, but since those brands are so good brand I feel it’s going to be very small samples.

Ok someone help me! So supposedly allure took over on June 15th, right? So does that mean anyone can now subscribe?

Has anyone been able to login using the new allure website?

Uggg got cut off lol another fabulous Sample Society box. Love the nail polish. I’ve never used the St Tropez brand before so I’m excited to try it. I’ve used these wax strips before and love them. I can always use sunscreen. I am super pale porcelain but this didn’t go on as dark as it looked at first. I can always use new brushes so I’m happy about that and I love Elf. I have super long thick hair so I can always use leave in conditioner. Very happy!

I have nine subscriptions, and Allure is easily one of my favorites. I’m almost never disappointed. They offer a nice variety of makeup and skincare. I like Lauren B’s nail polish formula a lot and the Polo Lounge Punch color is unique to my collection, even though I have about 80 bottles! Eager to try it as soon as my current lagoon blue manicure chips.

I’m missing the Cotz sunscreen in my box. Did anyone else find anything missing?

I actually really like this box. I will use all of it and yes, yay! No perfume. (Perfume allergies )
I love the nail polish, used the strips last night and did my brows. And am excited about the st tropez.

You guys are mentioning a switch over. What’s that all about? I don’t know anything about that.. Details?

The Nail polish is not the dark Pink I was expecting. I would call it Mississippi State Bulldog Maroon. Luckily that works for me and my hubby loves the color.

Inside tip for a fellow MSU Bulldog… OPI Lost on Lombard & Sleigh Parking Only are the best for football season. Sleigh parking is a little darker and Lombard tends more red but they are both great!

Your post sounded like an encrypted top secret message at first… LOL…

Yeah OPI rules for me! Sports, bleh….

I really liked this box. The nail polish is awesome. The variety of items was very nice. I’ll use everything in this box. The ELF brush was great to use for applying my concealer this morning.

I kinda liked getting the wax strips, lol.
Since I am at a high risk for skin cancer, the self tanner is a plus.

I SO wanted to sign up just to get this particular box, but since they were changing over, they shut down subscriptions 🙁 If anybody wants to sell me their box please let me know!! We can also trade…but cash is king!

If nobody wants to sell I’d very much be interested in trading for the St. Tropez or Lauren B. Thank you!!

I’m pretty “meh” about this box. I really only like the nail polish since it’s a color that I love to wear. I’m not excited about the rest. However, I’ve never had any type of waxing done before and I think I’ll try out the strips on myself in the name of science (and pain).

I love this box, even the nail polish which I’m not usually crazy about getting since I have several polish subs. But I’ve had great results with the Lauren B. brand and love this color!

Yes, Allure will take over in July. I am going to give it that month to try it and if it doesn’t excite me, I am going to have to say goodbye to this box. This box doesn’t have anything new or different or particularly “of the moment” which I expect from Allure. Well maybe the St. Tropez but that’s all.

I am wearing the polish today and it is pretty. If I got colors like this instead of pale pink all the time, I’d be happy.

I find the black-handled e.l.f. brushes (which this one is) are better than the white-handled ones.

Nice box. Not enough to get me to resub, but I’d be happy with this if I received it. I LOVE Elf brushes, just ordered some backups last night. They are crazy good for the price.

I LOVE that they put an Allure Beauty award winner in the box. I think that since Allure is associated with this box, they should include products featured in their magazine.
I can’t wait to see what the new box will become next month!

Will they open the subscription for new subscribers before the next box? I have been interested in this box for a while, but have only been able to purchase previous boxes from beautybar.com or amazon.

Michelle

I received my box yesterday, and was so disappointed in it. I love getting brushes in boxes, but not an ELF brush, I have a few of these and while it won’t go to waste, I have come to expect better out of this box. To me the best thing in the box was the nail polish and I am still on the fence about the shade. This is the first time I have received a Sample Society box that I totally disliked, I am hoping this is not a sign of things to come from Allure or I will be cancelling my subscription.

I was so excited that allure was taking over but this is a let down. Hopefully next month will be better I feel like this box is left over inventory and doesn’t excite me one bit.

Melissa

Allure doesn’t start curating the boxes until next month. This was put together by Beauty Bar.

I was under the impression that the Allure take over would release the first box next month in July. I am curious to see what they do with it!
