The box also comes with a mini-mag and pin. This month’s theme follows up last month's Heroes 2, with Villains 2!

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon – August 2015 - los-pollos-hermanos

Los Pollos Hermanos Apron - Value $29.99

I pulled the value from the official Breaking Bad store. I LOVE this apron. Every Breaking Bad fans will immediately recognize this apron from the ultimate Breaking Bad villain. For me, this is so much better than another t-shirt - what a great idea for a wearable! I've been hoping for a change up in geek box wearables lately, so this fits the bill. I better fire up the grill before summer ends.

And here's a look from the Loot Crate magazine.

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon – August 2015 - mug

Venom 3D Mug - Value $14.99 on Amazon

It's a toss-up between this mug and the apron for favorite item this month - but since I'll use this much more, it probably gets the edge. Both Venom and Carnage were possibilities this month, and while I'm glad I got Venom, I'll probably try to swap for Carnage!

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon – August 2015 - joker

The Joker Wooden Figure - Value 12.99?

Here is the Villains 2 box exclusive. I was unsure if I'd like this item when I first saw spoilers - but I already have this on my desk. It's a solid, bulky, wooden figure with two head choices. One has text for his mouth that says "heehee" and the other says "haha". I may have to get the Batman wooden figure to balance out the power struggle on my desk.

Loot Crate Subscription Box Review & Coupon – August 2015 - hydra

Captain America Hydra Pin - Value $23 on Amazon

Hail Hydra! Hail Hydra! I really like this prop replica from Captain America: The First Avenger. Cap is one of my favorite superheroes  - so it's only fitting to now have the pin of his greatest nemesis organization!

Loot Crate Villains 2 Pin

And here is this month's pin. Love the Venom mouth!

Verdict: Another great Loot Crate box this month! While there are fewer items this month, they are higher value items - which I enjoy much more now that I have them in hand. I love the mug and apron, and all the items add up to over 3x value of the price paid - you can't beat that! I also think that the curation was great here - all villains included are the ultimate villain for the opposition hero (or anti-hero in Walter White's case!).

What did you think of this month's Loot Crate? Did you like getting less, but higher value items?

Starting at $29.99

My older son was slightly disappointed in the box. He’s happy with his Venom mug and COA pin. He also received the LevelUp socks which he found disappointing. They are Reverse Flash and Skeletor. Feel free to click on my name to see pictures.

I received tracking numbers for the Loot Crate Mystery boxes. They should be arriving on Thursday!

Did you ever see or reveal the Loot Crate San Diego Comic Con boxes for 2015? They had two sizes. I was thinking about adding them to the swap site but there isn’t much I’d want to swap for with it.

You know what would be cool too if you added to your unboxing/review, a final look at the box after its made into a display box.

I’m surprised not a lot of people liked this box. This is my boyfriend and mine’s first time subscribing to Lootcrate and we loved this box! There were fewer items than I expected, but the value is great! We love Marvel and DC Villains (only Villains) so we loved the Joker figurine. I’m a big fan of Marvel villains so the Carnage mug and the Hydra pin was a win.
We have never seen Breaking Bad so it took some looking up to find out what the apron was about.
On the booklet it said the a Mass Effect/Bioware themed box is coming soon? If so we will definitely keep subscribing!

So this is the content of the Villains 2 crate I’ll be getting???? Really??? This will be my first loot crate….. was super excited with all the hype around the Villains 2 theme, but this will also be the last crate from the looks of this box compared to others I’ve seen. I’m a breaking bad fan so the apron is…..ok, I guess???? but other than that, big time failure for me…. especially when compared to the funko/marvel, comic – con and even nerd block boxes I’ve received for the same prices. Loot crate, you only get one chance to make a first impression and this is a very very bad one.

This was my first LootCrate and a total bust, save for the little Hydra prop. I’ve already purchased a 3-month sub, so hoping the next 2 make up for the fail of this one. I got the Carnage mug, and it’s probably the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.

I like the box as random items except for the horrid Venom mug. Didn’t even open it and it was the first comic I remember reading in elementary school. The apron is handy and I like the gimmicky show logo, love the Hydra pin, and the little wooden joker is adorable!

Sadly, this box is a total miss for me. Cxl’ing Loot Crate, too many misses.

Selling my apron $10 shipped and Carnage mug also $10 shipped. Shipping will be a good amount for the mug as it is heavy.

I take both in one package to germany if not much for it

I’ve been thinking about trying this box, but except for the apron which is TERRIFIC, there is nothing else to tickle my inner fangirl. The Hydra pin is a miss–as a CA fan I would never wear the pin of his nemesis! Still for the right person who likes to collect I am sure this Sub is of interest and value.

This was our favorite Loot Crate to date. They upped their game and stepped out of their comfort zone with real quality items. It’s so nice to get items we can use instead of just things to display. The apron is great, and both hubby and I will make use of it. The cup was a big hit with my son, but I’m stealing it. What a great way to not take work so seriously. Lol

I LOVE that apron. Not enough to buy it, my husband doesn’t cook at all, but I love the concept of it 🙂

The apron alone makes the box for me! Luckily my 13 yr. old son is too young to have watched BrBa so it is all mine!! He does love the mug though as he is an avid tea drinker!

This box was actually a miss for me. I actually already own that exact apron! The mug I most likely going to give away. I got Carnage and it is an awesome mug but I think it’ll scare my toddler if he sees me drinking out if that mug. The figurine and pin were just kind if “men” to me. I think I just liked last month’s Batman figure so much I was hoping for a similar villian one (they have an awesome Cat Woman and Harley Quinn one). Alas this is what happens when you speculate too much about a theme. Great box just not for me.

LIZ!!! – The DUREX condom commercial is a bit explicit for a mommy to be seeing on a computer in a dining room with little ones around. It caught me by surprise. Don’t know if you have seen the commercial, but it’s not child or work-friendly.

Hi Anna,

I didn’t think we have commercial ads on our site – at least I’ve never seen one. I’ll check out banner ad settings and see if we can remove any possible ads like that. Sorry! (We don’t pick the banner ads that show up on the site – they are filled by Google Ad Sense, but I believe we can create limitations).

PA Anna

I should had clarified that this is from the ads that play on the right hand side of the website when viewing on the PC. My little guy saw it. I can’t imagine things like that going over well in a workplace either.

I think my box is arriving today. My son hasn’t seen the spoilers yet.

Lenya

Just my two cents, but I don’t see the issue with a commercial promoting safe sex. Or, if your kid is that young, I doubt they will even understand what they are seeing – it’s not like a durex commercial is pornographic. I haven’t seen the specific condom ad myself, but that’s because the ads that pop up on the right are based on your personal browsing history… so uh…

Liz Cadman

Thanks for the extra details. Sorry about that – I’ll look into it.

I cancelled Loot Crate after over 1 year of subscribing. I’m glad I did. The only thing I like in this box is the Hydra pin. I realize it’s all a matter of fandom, and some months were more relatable than others. Plus, our shelves were over-flowing with junk. I personally liked getting t-shirts. The apron wouldn’t cut it for me since I don’t wear them and I have never watched Breaking Bad.

we’ve been with Loot Crate since their very first box. First time ever we have been completely disappointed. Selling at least half if not most of my box.

Oh man I am so jealous of that wooden joker!!! I actually have both the batman and superman versions and totally need a villain for them to facedown!
