Each box comes with a fold out card detailing the items included.

POPSUGAR Must Have Box August 2015 Review + Coupon Scarf

American Colors Clothing Plaid Scarf - Value $79

I can't find this exact color/pattern on the American Colors Clothing site - I'm wondering if it is an exclusive colorway made for POPSUGAR?

The fabric is a lightweight 100% cotton gauze that is double sided. I think the fabric choice and the colors make it a good summer-to-fall transition piece.

Here it is on the dress form:

This isn't my favorite of all the scarves POPSUGAR has sent, but I like it.

POPSUGAR Must Have Box August 2015 Review + Coupon Yay

Happy Jackson YAYLUNCH Lunch Box - Value $10

I love the design and colors of this lunch box. I just wish it was dishwasher safe!

POPSUGAR Must Have Box August 2015 Review + Coupon Lunch

I may use it for organization instead of lunch needs!

POPSUGAR Must Have Box August 2015 Review + Coupon Tea Balm

Royal Apothic Tea Balm Firming Eye Treatment - Value $36

I couldn't find the ingredients for this eye treatment online when we first got the spoiler for this box, but now that it's in my hands I'm happy with the ingredient list. No parabens or added fragrance!

POPSUGAR Must Have Box August 2015 Review + Coupon Eye Cream

The eye treatment is a very moisturizing cream, and I just love the packaging! I think this might be my favorite item in the box.

POPSUGAR Must Have Box August 2015 Review + Coupon Napkins

Meri Meri Toot Sweet Pink Stripe Napkins - Value $6

These are cute, and something I normally wouldn't go out and buy, so it's a nice addition to the box for me. Next time we have guests over and need napkins, they won't get folded paper towels!

POPSUGAR Must Have Box August 2015 Review + Coupon Shortstacks

Shortstacks Birthday Cake Pancake and Waffle Mix - Value $8

This looks so good! I'm guessing it is an even more delicious version of funfetti in pancake form? I can't eat these because of my gluten intolerance, but I'm sure my husband will love them. (He's sampled Shortstacks before thanks to subscription boxes, so I know he likes the brand).

POPSUGAR Must Have Box August 2015 Review + Coupon Mug

Pastel Best Day Ever Mug - Value $12

Yay - this is dishwasher and microwave safe! This is probably my second favorite item in the box. I definitely don't need any more mugs, but I tend to buy a cute one whenever I see it. And this mug looks good with my most recent mug purchases:

POPSUGAR Must Have Box August 2015 Review + Coupon My Mug Collection

POPSUGAR Must Have Box August 2015 Review + Coupon Yoga

My Yoga Works 3 Month Trial - Value $45

Great news - no credit card is required to redeem this subscription! (Each subscriber gets a unique code to enter). I just signed up and started browsing the videos - I like that you can create playlists!

POPSUGAR Must Have Box August 2015 Review + Coupon Folgers

Folgers Iced Cafe Caramel Macchiato Flavored Coffee Drink Concentrate - Value $5

This was listed as a special extra in the box. This mix has 12 servings - you add 2 squeezes to a 8 oz glass of milk to make the caramel macchiato. I couldn't try it since it may contain milk (no dairy listed in the ingredients, but a warning on the bottle), but I did open it up to smell it - and it smells good!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $201 (that's counting the value of the MyYogaWorks subscription since it doesn't require a credit card for sign up). While every item isn't a perfect fit for me, I still think this is a great box. What do you think of the August POPSUGAR Must Have box?

Can you believe the audacity of claiming that a piece of plaid and a piece of gingham stitched together are worth $79? Wow!

It’s the new thing. You price things at ridiculous prices which nobody will pay, then discount them and make people feel they got a deal. One of the things I love about e-bay is how it helps you figure out what the actual market price of an item is. This scarf’s seems to be $15.

Well you’ve got a supply and demand issue there, too. When PSMH includes an item in their box, there are suddenly a lot of that item available on eBay. So the supply is outweighing the demand – At least of people who shop on eBay. I’m not knocking eBay; I love them. But many people won’t buy things there. Which brings up another issue. Population. EBay final selling prices only show what *eBay users* are willing to pay, not the entire population.

Anyone want to buy any or all of this box? Let me know!

I’ve looked and looked at the scarves on the website and then looked at the scarf I received. I finally found what a difference..it’s in the fringe. The scarves on their site seem to have a very small, tight fringe. The scarf I got in my box has a longer, more loose fringe. I like the ones on their site better.

Ugh! I made the pancakes today and found a little piece of what seemed to be wire. I could not even bend or break it with my fingers. I don’t know what would have happened if that got caught in my throat. That totally freaked me out and I threw away the rest of the pancakes.

This was only my second PSMH box. I am still undecided if I like them. I like the scarf and the eye cream feels nice. I love the saying on the coffee mug.

Any other subscription box suggestions?

Hold the boat! I now realize it may have been a piece of my plastic spatula. Sorry!!

Oh wow that’s really scary! I bought a 6 month subscription to popsugar in June because I loved the previous boxes but I regret it now. There are a few things I like from each box but I don’t think that justifies the price to me. My favorite box is globe in and I love yuzen as well (quarterly).

I’m confused. Not sure how the theme “organization, morning routines, celebrations and back to school” fit in with the items in this month’s box. Thought they would come up with something clever, but yet again, another scarf to add to my collection of never to be worn scarfs! Was thinking maybe a planner, nice pen, desk accessory – something maybe FUN! Please – whoever “curates” these boxes, think “out of the box”. Thanks.

The only thing I can think is organization=lunchbox, morning routines=coffee mug, celebrations-pancake and back to school=eye cream? Again doesn’t seem like a good match to the theme. I’m not even sure where the yoga fits in here.

I’m so glad I decided to go spoiler free, as I did last month. I think this is a great box and will get use out of every item. For my son’s lunch’s I prefer to use reusable containers instead of plastic bags, but all of my bento boxes are more juvenile. I also don’t mind it’s not microwavable as it’s not very healthy to microwave food in plastic to begin with. The eye cream is probably my least favorite item only because I have tons of eye cream…but that’s due to my own sub addiction. Definitely not “must have” items, but I’m satisfied with the value and I am also the weird bird who can never get enough scarves…or shoes. Size 8 PS if you’re reading. 😉

I got my box today…so it’s not my favorite PopSugar box. But that being said, I am excited about the eye cream, I just ran out so perfect timing, I will take the mug to work, hopefully the positive message will keep me motivated and I’ll use the napkins. I am going to give the scarf to my niece who loves all things plaid and the yoga cert is going to a co-worker. I guess I will swap the lunch box, I really have no use for it. I’m on the fence about what to do with the pancake waffle mix and coffee concentrate. I’m heading to the mountains for the weekend with friends, so maybe they will get used at the cabin.

I might be one of the minorities but I loved my box! I just got mine today and will use everything 🙂 the scarf is actually pretty cute! I was worried but I like it. And the eye cream looks so amazing I am trying to swap for more on the swap site! I already swapped for another lunchbox which I am REDICULOUSLY excited for, it’s chargers colors (die-hard fan) and I commute to college so it will definitely get used! Not a stellar bo but certainly got my money’s worth. And that pancake mix will get used within 48 hours 😉

Has anyone heard anything about the eye cream for dark circles? I have a cream that I like and I don’t really want to start using this one if I’m not sure if it will work.

Isn’t August PSMH’s anniversary/birthday month? Maybe that is part of the reason for the Shortstacks Birthday Cake Pancake and Waffle Mix and party napkins….

Reply ButtonReply

Sarah

I just got my box today and though it’s not my favorite, its not terrible. My favorite item is the eye cream and my least favorite is the napkins, which seem kind of random. I guess they go with the celebration theme, but I feel the theme as a whole is random. The scarf is big and just doesn’t look right on me. I think it would look better if the blue gingham side was a solid color. But I will still give it a shot. Ultimately, if I had the chance to skip this month, I would have. Oh well hope next month is amazing

Jenna

Completely agree! Except for the pancakes. I’m excited to try that.

I was really disappointed in this month’s box. Last month was fantastic but this one was just meh. I have no need for a lunch box. I don’t wear scarves, funny like coffee and don’t do yoga. The mug and the eye cream were nice but my Ipsy bag and birch box combined much better items. Pop sugar usually isn’t this bad, it’s almost always my favorite subscription… If next month doesn’t blowb me away I’m canceling.
