Awesome Pack Subscription Box Review August 2015 - box

Awesome Pack
3.7 overall rating
11 Ratings | 8 Reviews

Awesome Pack is a newish subscription box that's all about family fun time! They send board games, toys, and activities to encourage quality time together. I love the concept!

They offer a Family Pack if you need items that would work for young and older kids, or a Big Kid Pack for older kids and adults. (This review is of the Family Pack).

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Awesome Pack Subscription Box Review August 2015 - letter

When I signed my family up for this subscription, Awesome Pack sent me a pretty extensive quiz about what games my family likes (and what we already have to avoid duplicates). It also asked about the ages of the children and other general interest questions. It's pretty highly customized! I like that!

Awesome Pack Subscription Box Review August 2015 - extras

As always, they included a fun family activity booklet. In addition, they always send a little piece of Awesome Pack merch, such as a pen or magnet. This month it's a bookmark.

Awesome Pack Subscription Box Review August 2015 - taiga

Taiga Board Game - Value $19.49 on Amazon

We were just watching "Planet Earth" with the kids recently and talking about the taiga. How fun that this game came along just at this time to reinforce our education! This is a memory and logic game that won awards and got 5 stars on Amazon. Perfect!

Awesome Pack Subscription Box Review August 2015 - trixo

Trixo - Value $10.37 on Amazon

This month we got a second board game! Fun! I think this is like 3-D tic-tac-toe. The boys will enjoy this one for sure!

Awesome Pack Subscription Box Review August 2015 - rockets

KidzLabs Micro Rocket - Value $4.95 each

This is another coincidentally well-timed treat! We just built a similar rocket for another subscription box, and we have plenty of rocket fuel left that would also work in these little guys. The boys are going to love these!

Awesome Pack Subscription Box Review August 2015 - erasers

Marvel Erasers - Value $1 each?

I couldn't find these online so I'm guessing at the value. These went straight into the backpacks! Kids this age are really happy to have novelty school supplies. These are a nice treat.

The Verdict: We have really been enjoying Awesome Pack so far! It has facilitated lots of fun family time for us. I'm a little concerned at the value this month as it falls just below the cost of the box (unless I am way off about the value of the erasers). I have faith that Awesome Pack will return to its former level of value next month. It is usually quite a great bargain.

This month our Adult Pack had a lower value too- still above the price of the box, but not the same we’ve come to expect. However, when we played our games they were so great, we’re going to look past that. For my husband and I, who are avid board gamers, it’s hard to decide between a high value, yet unknown $45/month, or just buying $45 games that we know we’ll love. For now we’re going to stick with Awesome Pack though, because it introduces us to new games we haven’t seen before.

This is one that I have been watching. I wanted to sub to this box. I have a young daughter. My grandsons visit every weekend. I think I will wait until your next review to decide. I started subbing to boxes because of your blog. I choose to order subscriptions based on your reviews. You are kinda like a drug dealer…lol.
