Elizabeth & Clarke is a women’s clothing subscription box – and they specialize in just shirts and tops! They make all their styles in-house, and only do a limited amount of new designs each season, so they are able to keep the prices very reasonable.  Each season you get to preview the tops and pick your favorites. (There are usually 3 new tops, and a few classic styles they have available every season).

They included a card this month showing each of the tops.

And included a coupon code for Panty By Post:

The Isabella Top

(65% Modal, 35% Cotton; Trim 100% Vegan Leather. Machine Washable, Lay Flat to Dry)

I love the design of this top. The cut is so flattering and beautiful:

And normally I don't wear Peter Pan collars because I feel like they sometimes look a little too youthful on me, but with the faux leather material, this collar works:

The Whitney Top

(100% Pointe de Roma Kint; Machine Washable, Lay Flat to Dry)

I love how comfortable this top is. (It's like a more sophisticated sweatshirt material). Unfortunately for me, this shade of grey just doesn't work for my skin tone.

Here is the back detail:

And the sweatshirt-like cuffs:

The Hutton Tee

(65% Modal, 35% Cotton; Machine Washable, Dryer Safe).

I love the navy shade of this tee. It's a simple and flattering cut too - I will wear this top a lot.

Verdict: I’m always so impressed with the quality of the shirts for the price. These definitely feel like they should cost more than $20 a piece! In general I’ve found that the pieces hold up well in the laundry, but they shrink a small amount, so I recommend keeping that in mind for sizing. I love 2 out of the 3 tops this quarter, and the Whitney top is a great piece - just not flattering with my coloring. In general, I'm very happy with the Fall box.

Elizabeth and Clarke’s regular sizes run REALLY large. The size 8 Liz Lemon is closer to a 12 to 14. It’s huge and E & C won’t exchange it for me because I don’t have the plastic bag it came it. I have the box and the paperwork they sent and they don’t dispute I bought it from them, but they won’t exchange it.
I also bought the sleeveless white shirt in size 10 and it’s about a 12 to 14, as well.
Now I’m stuck with 2 shirts that don’t fit and no options. A fine thank you for someone who helped them get launched by buying into their kickstarter campaign.
Also, I agree with reviewers who say the material is thin. You can see through both shirts.
I would not buy from E & C again.

I loooove the black top! Omg. I want this box….I know with my luck I’ll do the $60 and will get an awful season lol…. When does the winter season come?

This was my first month subscribing to E&C and I am so happy I did! I’ve already worn the Whitney & Hutton. The shirts are great quality and perfect for fall. I love that you can buy shirts from previous seasons if you don’t like everything in the current one or need to replace a favorite. The winter preview looks good, but I will be swapping something out for the vest. I can’t go sleeveless in winter and don’t like the look of vests over long sleeves.

This is my second box and I’m so thrilled with the quality! I only got the Whitney from this collection (and 2 from older collections that I needed ASAP). The shirts are true to size and so unique. This is the only subscription box I haven’t cancelked yet.

I love the style of all three of these tops! I have an all black wardrobe – is there any way you can specify color with this subscription?

Kali Marie

You just don’t buy a shirt that isn’t black 🙂

For instance, I am signed up for this subscription, and a few days ago they released the Winter collection by email. Next, I go to their website and decide if I want to keep my current subscription (1 shirt for $30) and if so, I click which of the 3 new shirts I would like, or one shirt from an older season if there are any available. If I would like more than one shirt (2 shirts for $50; 3 shirts for $60) then I upgrade to a bigger box and click to select my other shirt choices. If you do not like any of the options, then you email them to cancel.

So it’s really a win win, because you see the shirt and color ahead of time and YOU have chosen to have that shirt shipped to you. If you don’t like it after receiving – you can send it back and get a refund!

No, you can’t choose a color (that I know of). But from reading reviews and what I’ve been ordering, they offer pretty neutral colors (Black, white, gray, navy) – I think one time Liz actually got a pale pink shirt though.

I have been subscribing to E+C for over a year now, and love all the shirts I’ve received! That being said, some have shrunk (mostly the tees), but the nicer button downs and tops typically hold up well. I am a bit disappointed in the upcoming winter selection, however; not all the styles are very flattering or versatile.

I wish this box was a possibility for me, but even if I dieted for years they’d never make a top for my chest. Trials of a 42h chest lol. I’ll save the money I could have used for this box and get a breast reduction, then I can maybe fit these dang shirts!

Janet

Every time there’s a review I wish I had subscribed but I also know that since they don’t carry petite sizes the odds of them fitting me are pretty slim. I keep hoping they will expand their sizing!

Reply ButtonReply

Heather Morris

I’m petite (moreso on the bottom than top) and their tops work well for me 🙂

Can anyone weight in on sizing? I’m fairly busty for my size, which can make shirt sizing tricky. I usually wear a 4/S with an occasional 6/M, but the E&C sizing chart indicates that I should get a 12. Does this sound about right?

Reply ButtonReply

yourbilletdoux

I usually wear a 4/S and wear a 34C bra and the 4 on E&C fits me well. The t-shirt this month is maybe a little bigger than what I would like but I hope that it shrinks up a bit like Liz says!

Adina

Get the shirt fitted for your bust, and then find a tailor who can take in the waist. It’s an easy fix and it will look even more expensive than it is because it will look made for your body. Totally worth the investment.

Bekki

I’m a 32F up top, mostly hourglass-ish with a pooch around the middle. The only shirt from E&C that I have had problems with is the linen one from the Summer collection. The problem that I have is that it is shapeless on me; it’s not really a fit issue. I think its just the cut of the shirt I don’t like. I have both 10s and 12s. The 10s fit best.

Reply ButtonReply

Ake

Oh, this gives me hope! Thanks.

EC

I’m a 36 DD with a 28 inch waist and 37 inch hips. I wear an 8. I’m also 5’9″ so I don’t know if that makes a difference. Every now and then they will have a button front blouse that I need to size up to a 10 but otherwise the 8 fits great.

Reply ButtonReply

:)

If you’re curvy, the shirts may not fit you right. I’m usually a 4/S, but I am a 32C and I have a booty. I tried the 4, but it was tight in the chest and hips. Then I sized up to the 6, but it was still a little tight in those areas but then generally looks large. I have the V-neck tank from last quarter that I don’t even wear because the shoulders are loose and fall down (size 6). I think this problem could be resolved if the shirts had a little more stretch to them, but the 4 shirts I tried did not. Beautiful, well-made shirts- just not for my body type.

Ake

Thanks. It sounds like they won’t fit me either. It’s a shame since I love their winter collection. Oh well. Saving money!

I have never ordered from E&C, but I just swapped for the Taylor shirt. I’m a pretty consistent size 14. This shirt, while beautiful, doesn’t even come close to fitting! I adore the length and that the tab sleeve option, but It’s not even going to fit on a skinny day. I would have to go up two sizes. So relieved I didn’t purchase an entire box from the company.

I have been patiently waiting for them to add plus sizes. They keep taunting me with it, and then it doesn’t happen. So ready. I want to give them my money and they just won’t take it.

Reply ButtonReply

AmyM

Same here. I tweeted them about it, and it was during their Kickstarter campaign and they tweeted back soliciting a donation to “prove” I was interested in seeing them offer plus sizes. Kind of turned me off. That said, when/if they ever do finally offer them, I’ll probably subscribe.

Rowsdower

Shoot! I did mean to add that I like the styles Liz received and if there was a chance they’d fit, I would sub to E&C.

Oh I love that Peter Pan collar shirt. I just decided to skip my winter box, too! I may reply to them and tell them I changed my mind 😉

Reply ButtonReply

Bekki

I’ve already worn my Whitney and Hutton tops. I’m wishing I would have sized down because the Whitney seems a bit large at the shoulders. Their winter choices look great too!

Randi

I LOVE my shirts from Elizabeth & Clarke – can’t thank you enough for introducing me to them 🙂

This was my first month and I was so excited to see this box in my PO Box.

I got the Liz Lemon and Hutton and the Taylor, unfortunately the Taylor doesn’t quite fit me right, but I want to love it. The other two shirts are so soft! They’re a little big so hoping they’ll shrink a tad bit.
This might be my favorite sub now, I wish it was monthly instead of quarterly. The quality is awesome for the price and everything came packaged so nice.
And I’m so excited for the Winter Collection that they just posted the other day – I’m getting the Cooper for sure and might try the Carson. Might get another Liz Lemon too… can never have too many basic white tees 🙂

Liz Cadman

Yay! So glad you like this subscription too! 🙂

This box is very tempting. This stuff is so my style (although I’d like the last one in black lol). I already own so many basic tee type shirts but it’s what I like to wear..
