Die Again Tomorrow by Kira Peikoff - Retail Value $9.99 (On Amazon for $6.29)
This book isn't even released yet! (It comes out September 29th).
Book Summary from Amazon:
Isabel Leon, the star of a survival reality show, thinks she can endure anything. But when she unwittingly gives an unscrupulous mogul a chance to profit from her murder, she becomes the target of a terrifying killer who makes nature seem tame by comparison.
At first left for dead, she is rescued by a medical research team that operates outside the law. She awakens to find she's the living proof of a breakthrough that can change the world. Some people would pay any price to control it. Others would simply steal the secret--even if it costs Isabel's life. As powerful rivals pursue her, Isabel must risk everything to protect those she loves--or die again tomorrow.
Playing Dirty by Tiffany Snow - Retail Value $5.99
(This is another pre-release book - it comes out on the 29th as well).
Book Summary from Amazon:
Faced with a choice between bad-boy detective Dean Ryker and sexy power player Parker Anderson, Sage Reece fought the law--and the law won. But while Ryker's sizzling touch may rule her nights, Sage's days belong to Parker's cool, calculating intensity. . . .
Both Ryker and Parker are determined to protect Sage from a brutal enemy who'd use her to pay for their mistakes. Yet when the usually on-point Ryker is distracted by ghosts from his past, Parker seizes his opportunity to get Sage's attention--and keep it in ways beyond her wildest dreams.
Now, caught between a mobster out for revenge and two men who were once best friends, Sage must play to win--even if it means getting dirty. . . .
Sustained by Emma Chase - Retail Value $15 (On Amazon for $10.94)
Book Summary from Amazon:
Emma Chase, New York Times bestselling author of the Tangled series, returns with a brand new funny, romantic, sexy story!
A knight in tarnished armor is still a knight.
When you’re a defense attorney in Washington, DC, you see firsthand how hard life can be, and that sometimes the only way to survive is to be harder. I, Jake Becker, have a reputation for being cold, callous, and intimidating—and that suits me just fine. In fact, it’s necessary when I’m breaking down a witness on the stand.
Complications don’t work for me—I’m a “need-to-know” type of man. If you’re my client, tell me the basic facts. If you’re my date, stick to what will turn you on. I’m not a therapist or Prince Charming—and I don’t pretend to be.
Then Chelsea McQuaid and her six orphaned nieces and nephews came along and complicated the ever-loving hell out of my life. Now I’m going to Mommy and Me classes, One Direction concerts, the emergency room, and arguing cases in the principal’s office.
Chelsea’s too sweet, too innocent, and too gorgeous for her own good. She tries to be tough, but she’s not. She needs someone to help her, defend her…and the kids.
And that—that, I know how to do.
This box also included free e-books for:
Eye of the Ninja by DM Marlowe - Value $5.99 (Released October 1st)
Luck be a Lady by Gemma Halliday and T. Sue Versteeg - Value $4.99
Cherish Me Cowboy by Alissa Callen - Value $2.99
This box also comes with book swag each month. I like the Halloween theme! (And that's a pretty clever pen design).
And here is the book swag item I definitely don't feel comfortable with on my desk:
Hm, this may end up as a joke on a friend's desk!
Verdict: This box has a value of about $37 (using Amazon's sale prices), and that's without putting a value on the swag items. I think that's a great value for a book box, and I love that they include a variety of paperback and ebook options - not everything is for me each month, but there are always a few I'm interested in. (And I also love reading things before they are released!)
