Every month, Mindfulness Box includes an info card like this, detailing all of the enclosed items. It also includes a meditation to be used with one of the items. That's really nice and helpful because I like to change up my practice frequently.
Orange Calcite - Value $8
Break out the Al Green record, it's time to work on the sacral chakra! This orange glowing mineral is very helpful in the areas of sexuality and creativity, plus it's very pretty. There are tons of these for a sale online, everywhere, so I wasn't sure what link to give you exactly, but I would agree $8 is typical for a stone this size.
Mini Mandala Coloring Book & Crayola Colored Pencils - Value $9.95
This is my favorite item in the box this month! I was so excited to see an adult coloring book! I love mandalas, too. This fits perfectly with this month's emerging theme, which appears to be the sacral chakra. Coloring is an act of creativity, but it also clears the mind since not much thought is required.
(Also pictured are some Yum Earth Organic Hopscotch Butterscotch candies with an approximate retail value of $.50. Yum!)
"Lost Wax" Copper Statue from Nepal - Value $12
I couldn't find this little guy online anywhere, so I'm using the value printed on the info card. Lost Wax is apparently an ancient casting process in Nepal. I am not really into the religious aspect of meditation, so I hope it's okay if I just keep him amongst my crystals for decor.
Red Abalone Shell with White Sage - Value $6.50
(Again, I'm taking Mindfulness Box's word for it on value here.)
I was excited to see sage in this month's box; I have been using it since college to help improve concentration. I knew it was a Native American tradition, but I didn't know it is called "smudging." It's apparently a purification method. I'll have to read more about that. The idea here is to put a pinch of sage in the abalone shell and burn it. The shell is really lovely, too!
The Verdict: This month's Mindfulness Box was another hit for me! The value comes to just about $37, which is good for a $29 box, but there is more value in the curation of this box than most. Plus I think this month's focus on the sacral chakra made it even more well-curated than usual. And how awesome is it that I get to go color in a coloring book now?
