The Last Summer at Chelsea Beach by Pam Jenoff - Value $14.95 (On Amazon for $10.41)

Book summary from Amazon:

Summer 1941

Young Adelia Montforte flees fascist Italy for America, where she is whisked away to the shore by her well-meaning aunt and uncle. Here, she meets and falls for Charlie Connally, the eldest of the four Irish-Catholic boys next door. But all hopes for a future together are soon throttled by the war and a tragedy that hits much closer to home.

Grief-stricken, Addie flees—first to Washington and then to war-torn London—and finds a position at a prestigious newspaper, as well as a chance to redeem lost time, lost family…and lost love. But the past always nips at her heels, demanding to be reckoned with. And in a final, fateful choice, Addie discovers that the way home may be a path she never suspected.

Yay! A signed book:

This box also came with an Indie Bound flyer for additional book recommendations.

Verdict: I like that The Book Drop is starting to include additional perks for subscribers like a signed book. The value for this box isn't great - $10.41 on Amazon for a $20 box, but occasionally they include a bonus book, so the value will be a little better over a few months.

I. Love. This. Box. I have such a hard time choosing books to read, and half the time my choices turn out to suck. The books I’ve received with this subscription have all been hits for me (I disliked the main character in the Ice Cream Queen one, but the history of Orchard Street was so interesting — and that’s where the Tenement Museum is!!!).

Amazon has been putting little bookshops out of business for years, I am so happy to support a small business with this box! Especially given the great books they send.
