Death's Head Moth T-shirt - Value $10?

I don't think there's any direct horror movie reference to this t-shirt - correct me if I'm missing something though! This seems to just be a play on words with the Death's-head Hawkmoth moth species

Exclusive Aliens 2-Pack Vinyl Figues - Value $30.00

I based the value on a similar two pack - wow, this is awesome! This was the first thing I saw when opening the box, and I was giddy. How cool are these!? Plus, the Alien comes with an attachable tongue!

I love the detail on the Alien's head!

Horror Face Coaster Set - Value ?

Here's an exclusive item this month - they're horror face coasters and are pretty unique. They're made to be a coaster, but to also be put up to your face to give you an evil grill. Each coaster has a front and back with different faces. I haven't seen this type of thing before, so my first thought is - that's cool!

Night Of The Living Dead Magnet Set - Value ?

Another exclusive this month is this Night Of The Living Dead magnet word set. Similar to the Monty Python magnets from the June 2015 Nerd Block Classic, these allow you to make some movie quotes on your fridge!

Night Of The Living Dead DVD - Value $10

Awesome! This DVD of the classic film also includes an exclusive documentary, 'Chronicles Of The Living Dead', where they discuss the making of the film. I'm excited to watch the documentary, I'm a sucker for documentaries!

horror-block-sept-2015-rue-morgue

October Rue Morgue - Value $9.95

As always, the latest Rue Morgue is also included in the box.

Verdict: I like this month's Horror Block! While it's not my favorite (last month set the bar high for me!), it did have some cool Night of the Living Dead items - which I appreciate. I was hoping they'd start sending Blu-ray movies, like last month, but I guess I can only dream. Fingers crossed that Horror Block goes all out for their October box!

They mention Silence of the Lambs on the card in their description of the shirt! I enjoy the subtle-ish references like this one. Great box, the only item I wasn’t crazy about was the coasters.

My husband freaked out over the shirt. I like horror, but it’s his “thing”. I have to pry very select items out of his hands from every month to put up for swap bec. it gets cluttered between the two of us. This is his fav block every month.

Could the Death’s Head Moth t-shirt be a reference to The Silence of the Lambs?

Its from Silence of the Lambs – Buffalo Bill would place these moths inside the throats of the victims. Also, if you read the insert, its definitely a reference to Silence of the Lambs, because Buffalo Bill would threaten to spray cold water on the victims if they refused to put lotion on their skin. He made a “woman suit” out of their skins.

That’s what I thought too, Laurie. I love everything except the coasters. This was a REALLY GOOD month! I’m going to watch NotLD tonight along with the doc. Nice job Horror Block!

Side note: my cousins and I would draw Ouija boards on the bottom of board game boxes and use an upside down glass to play. The older cousins liked to freak us out lol!

The Death’s Head Moth is a direct reference to Silence of the Lambs. The cocoons were what Buffalo Bill stuffed in his victim’s throats.

Randi

You’re right. There was a spoiler saying there’d be an item from this franchise.
