Wet Shave Club is a subscription service that sends monthly packages full of goodies intended to make the process of wet shaving more enjoyable, and to help you look and smell great. A quote from their website says, "Wet Shave Club is about bringing back the manly ritual of traditional shaving." They also have a package for women, who I think might argue that not all shaving is manly!

Wet Shave Club kindly sent us this box to review. (Check out our review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Wet Shave Club For Women Subscription Box Review October 2015 - razor

Wet Shave Club Safety Razor in Pink - Value $29.99

Genuine Dark Leather Sheath - Value $11.99

Pack of 10 blades - Value $1.79

Their website cracked me up about this razor by saying, "If Floyd can be Pink, then so can you." Ha! I'm really impressed by this razor. It's old school, super high quality, and it has a great weight to it. I don't think I even knew leather sheaths existed, but this is really nice.

Wet Shave Club For Women Subscription Box Review October 2015 - brush

Satin Tip - The Purest Luxury Synthetic Shaving Brush - Value $14.99

This brush is so luxurious! It's so soft, and it has a great finish and grip on the handle.

Wet Shave Club For Women Subscription Box Review October 2015 - soaps

Farmstead Milk Soap Rose Bar - Value $7

Pikake Flower Shave Soap by Ollie + Max Soap Co. - Value $6

The Rose bar is infused with geranium and is supposed to be great for your face. It smells so great! The Pikake Flower soap also smells heavenly. Shave soaps are round so they will fit in the bottom of your shave mug and you can lather up your brush with them.

Wet Shave Club For Women Subscription Box Review October 2015 - products

Little Seed Farm Elasticity Serum - Value $18

Southern Peach Rose Lotion Bar by Live Beautifully - Value $8

Shabby London Rose - All Natural Solid Perfume by Live Beautifully - Value $12

The serum can be used on the body or face / neck. Southern Peach Rose is an amazing scent! There seems to be a lot of rose scented items in this box, but all of them are pleasant, not too overpowering or synthetic smelling.

The Verdict: What a cool package! I am excited to try wet shaving now with all this new gear! Everything smells great and feels so luxe. The value of the items aside from the razor and brush (what you would get in a normal monthly package) adds up to about $51, which is terrific for a $30 box! I don't know if there is anything out there that will make me "love shaving," but I'm definitely going to give it a try!

i did sub to this for a few months – the first box is a high value and fantastic (because they add the brush & razor) but then they struggle like crazy with the rest of the boxes – I barely got my money’s worth – many times it was well under what I paid for the sub.

I got this a few months ago, and I shave in the shower with it. It isn’t that much different from using a drugstore products in the shower, once you get the hang of getting the soap foamy. I have a traditional tub/shower, so there is lots of room. The biggest thing for not getting cuts (it took me a while with this, LOL) do not push against the skin. There is enough weight to it that you just set against the leg and pull. I don’t know that it is better than disposables/cartridges, but there is a lot less waste. The shave soap lasts forever. I shave my legs about 2x a week and I am still using the soap I got in July. There is a lot less waste and that is what I was most interested in, so ordering this box was more a lifestyle enhancement instead of a value purchase.

I’m pretty sure Sweeny Todd would be delighted by this box.

That’s some hardcore shaving if you use this. The thought of that razor scares the crap out of me. I would be like Edward Scissorhands! haha!

Looks like a great sub but, I’ll just stick to my new discovery… Harry’s ! I love their razors. I knows it’s a men’s sub but after trying my husbands razor I just knew I had to get my own lol. I just received mine earlier this month. They have a free trial box too!! Just pay $3 for shipping!

I initially thought that the box looked like a heck of a deal, but when I noticed that the razor and brush are only included with a 6-12 month subscriptions I was disappointed. If you put them in as “add on’s” the brush is valued on the Wet Shave club at $25 and the razor at $25 or both of them in a combo for $45. So $45 plus the $29 for the box itself totals out to $74. For the first box this seems expensive if you don’t want to commit to 6 months having never tried it before and seeing as you need both the brush and the razor to get the wet shaving experience it seems unfortunate.

The leather sheath was included in their second month’s box – so I don’t feel like it’s really apart of this month’s “value”, more of an item they added in for a new subscriber. And saying it was included with that second month box is a joke too – it wasn’t in the boxes, you had to contact them to get it when you complained about getting a box with less than $20 of stuff in it.

The razor looks like great quality. I should probably invest in something like it versus throwing money down the drain on disposables/cartridges. I like the soaps too. My only concern is how practical shaving legs using a mug and soap would be in the shower. I’m guessing most women shave in the shower and the logistics of a mug/brush/razor combo seems not worth the effort. Maybe it’s just me and my small-ish shower but I would have a hard time getting soap lather to stay on my legs long enough to actually shave them. All in all the value here is great and well curated. It just seems like they’re applying a man’s routine to women and changing colors/scents. I think in time they could make it more traditionally female in content (rose scent notwithstanding, lol).

I agree! Everything looks nice, but I kept thinking, “how does this work in the shower?” lol

I can’t shave in my shower because I can’t do it standing up. Unless I want to be bleeding from several gashes when I get out of the shower. I have to wait until I take a bath! But I wear long pants all the time so no one sees my legs.

I do kind of agree with you about taking a man’s routine and changing out scents, though.
