Comicboxer Subscription Box Review October 2015 - spiderman and Batman

Let's jump right in with two huge titles...

Amazing Spider-Man #1 - Value $5.99

I've been debating on wether to keep up with the marvel universe or stay 6 months behind with my subscription to Marvel Unlimited (which is awesome btw). I'm trying to stay behind for my budget's sake, but I've already taken a peek at Iron-Man #1 from the latest Collector's Corps, so I think i'll be peaking here too because I'm too excited not to.

Batman and Robin Eternal #1 - Value $3.99

I was so close to buying this on Comixology two nights ago! I'm currently up to date on the latest run of Batman, but I'm also on Volume 3 of Batman Eternal. Batman Eternal has really got a hold of me, I just love it, so that's why I was strongly considering starting Batman & Robin Eternal - it's like they read my mind. I'll also go ahead and recommend Batman Europa which just had it's first issue this past Wednesday.

Comicboxer Subscription Box Review October 2015 - Paper Girls and fairlyland

Paper Girls #1 - Value $3.99

I've heard a ton of praise for Paper Girls - lots of hype about issue one's ending as well, so I'm excited to read up. This is from Brian Vaughan, who also writes the super-popular Saga!

I Hate Fairyland #1 - Value $3.50

This one is completely new to me. It's about a six year old girl who has been stuck in Fairyland for 30 years and is trying to get back home. With lots of hacking and slashing of course. They made it super bold to let you know that this is not for kids!

Comicboxer Subscription Box Review October 2015 - spiderman 2099

Spider-Man 2099 #1 - Value $3.99

Another #1 from marvels brand new runs - this one features the futuristic Spider-Man. Like I said before, my will is not strong enough to hold off reading this, it'll probably be all read by night!

Verdict: I'm always excited to have this box at my door! This has definitely been my favorite month, 4 of the 5 titles have been ones that I've been eyeing up, so it's pretty much tailor made for me. I always make it a point to point out that comic subscriptions are definitely best for discovering new titles and don't provide a ton of monetary value over the price you pay. The value is in the curation!

Ooh, I didn’t know Brian K. Vaughan is writing another series. I’m so happy to have him writing comics again!!

Other awesome works by BKV include Y: the Last Man, Ex Machina, and Runaways. I would HIGHLY recommend all of them.

If you like Tony Stark, then you’re really going to enjoy the direction taken by this new Amazing Spider Man. It’s a series I’m really enjoying.

Looks like a fun box!

I was surprised at the price of this subscription though you do get quite a few comics in the box and some are not mainstream, but rather smaller interesting titles. I am wondering what you do with all the comics, since I can see these stacking up month after month–do you collect them or pass them along to share?
