If you aren’t familiar with Golden Tote, here’s a really quick intro: Every month you get to pick out 1-2 pieces, and they surprise you with the rest. (The surprise items are completely different from the pieces you pick from). For the $149 tote, you pick 2 items, and get 3-4 more surprise items based on your style profile.
FYI – This is not a typical subscription, each month they release a new collection and you can decide whether or not you want to buy it. For returns, they recently updated their return policy. Here’s their card describing it:
In summary, you can return your entire tote for a full refund. However, you can return individual items, any items you keep revert to their boutique price and you get charged the new total.
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Star Crossed Dress – value: $50
(94% Rayon, 6% Spandex; Hand wash and hang or line dry)
This was the first of my two items I picked. I absolutely love it! It’s jersey so you know it’s super comfortable, plus the design is one that is really flattering on all body types. This dress will be perfect for holiday parties and date nights!
Puella Cross Front Mock Turtleneck in Charcoal – value: $45?
(53% polyester, 43% rayon, 4% spandex; Hand wash and lay flat to dry)
Teal Skinny Jeans – value: $40
(57% cotton, 41% rayon, 2% spandex; Machine wash cold, tumble dry low)
These skinny jeans were my second pick for this tote. They’re just an inch or two shorter than I prefer for my skinny jeans, but they aren’t too bad and I know I can cuff them in the summertime, too, so I think I can make them work. I picked these because I don’t own any colored pants like this and thought they’d be fun!
This shirt is interesting – it has a couple different layers. It’s drapey and a looser-fit, which I’m hoping will grow on me. I think it’ll be good for nursing my son, though, since the front is just the two draped pieces. It’ll be nice to have something high-necked that is still easy to breastfeed in, especially as the weather’s getting colder.
Here’s a closer look at the details and neck of the shirt. The collar is one piece, and the two drapey pieces in front lay overtop.
Miracle Mosaic Tile Sweater – value: $45?
(55% cotton, 35% nylon, 10% wool; Hand wash cold and reshape and lay flat to dry)
This is my favorite surprise item! The print is bold and pretty, and I love the colors. Also, this sweater fits me so well; the amount of stretch is nice, the sleeves are the perfect length, and I think it’s really flattering! I feel great in it.
Twenty Second Zipped Jacket – value: $35?
(87% Polyester, 9 % rayon, 4% spandex; hand wash and flat dry)
This hoodie is different, but cute. The hood is over-sized and fun and the sleeves are a great length as well.
Oddi Fluffy Jacket – value: $35?
(100% polyester; Hand wash, hang or flat dry)
This is an odd surprise item – it’s just a fluffy, flimsy jacket, but it’s so warm! It’s a little too wide and short, and not quite my style so I don’t think I’ll wear it out. But I think it could be my new lay-around the house sweater.
Verdict: This is my first Golden Tote, and I love it! With the exception of the fluffy white jacket, I’m digging everything, especially my dress and the printed sweater!
