Ipsy Review – November 2015

This was my 5th month with ipsy and i got 3 of the same products as you and 2 different ones. So far my bag values have been pretty high. I live in Canada, so we pay $20.00, so i’m happy that I’ve been getting the higher value bags, but still great deal for $20.00. I think some people have too much stuff and also have way too high of exception for spending $10 bucks or even $20 bucks. You can’t get a whole lot of make up even cheap drug store brands for under $10 bucks in Canada, so i believe it’s a great value and great for trying different brands and products, plus if you like things in the mail. A lot of people sound like they they are a little spoiled, have too much and just don’t appreciate things as much as other people who have less. Maybe Subscription boxes are not for people with lot’s of beauty products. Maybe just go out by the stuff you need, if you have lot’s, does not sounds like they need or like surprises.

I wish I received products like this. I think these companies send out amazing bags/boxes to Subscription Addiction to get other people in on buying them. But when an actual “normal person” subscribes “we” get junk!

Hi Liz and fellow ipsters! I have not posted here but I think 1 time. Hi my name is Charlotte and I’m on here now because I’m becoming a sub addict (SUB Anamonous SA) Lol. All kidding aside. I’m currently only getting Ipsy and would like another beauty box. Up to 20.00 give or take and beauty with maybe jewelry or lifestyle. I have searched your site and its so hard to know with so many. Liz, you do great reviews! Glossybox, Boxy Charm and I forgot the other one similar. Can you help please? Also, my son in the Air Force his B-day is coming up in a week and I would like to get him a box. He’s a bit rugged with a sweet soul and bashful. Likes Pacsun, vans shoes if that helps, maybe you can shoot a few ideas my way. I look forward to write more on here. Have a Happy Thanksgiving if I haven’t heard from you all before hand. I love this month’s bag. I even got an extra mascara (thanks Fulfillment center). My Sept. 2015 bag was so OFF (selection), I re-took the survey and now they have it “point on”. Of course, I know that I may not like everything, but for $10 bucks and a chance to try something that I may or may not of heard of, not a bad deal.

I really liked my bag this month, but has anyone ever had issues with being double-billed by Ipsy?? I got an email today saying that my November bag was on its way (I already received it a few days ago!) and another email saying my account was cancelled!! Then I checked my bank account and sure enough, I was billed again for this 2nd bag I never ordered. Weird!!! I was able to log in online and it still says I’m still subscribed.
I contacted Ipsy, so hopefully I’ll hear back soon!
Did I get hacked? Or is this bizarre mistake?

Was anyone else’s pumpkin mask half full? It didn’t spill in my bag or anything, it just seems very empty. And I hate the bag itself but I love what I got. This is my third month with Ipsy and I’ve been pretty satisfied for $10.

I seriously considered cancelling IPSY, because there are just so many eyeliners and mascaras you can use. I specifically requested not getting anymore eyeliners a few months ago, but the request seems to be ignored. However, we seem to like to stuff in my IPSY subscription better than my daughter’s, so we cancelled hers instead. But I got the Dermelect nail polish in Commando and it is exactly the fall color I have been searching for (a medium-toned pinkish beige). I wish she had gotten the polish in her bag.

I don’t think the ModelCo trio is full-size – the box specifically says “not for retail sale”.

My new year’s resolution is to get rid of all subscription boxes, but with Macy’s coming out with one I’m not so sure now. I am sure that Dec will be the last month for ipsy, lip monthly ( not satisfied with the products anymore) and sadly boxycharm.

I love the bag itself this month and the contents were okay. I received Absolute Nano Liner in black, Smashbox mascara, Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Liquid Gossamer liquid luminizer (it smells lightly like coconut), trèStique matte lip crayon in chile red and my least favorite that I will not use is Coolway stronghold spray.

I do not use hair spray ever. The lip crayon is a really nice blue red that will look good with my complexion. The liquid luminizer is something I’ll have to play with. It has serious staying power and I don’t mind the smell. The liner dries quickly and doesn’t smudge. I have not tried the mascara yet because I have a ton.

I canceled my subscription this month because I haven’t been happy with the bags lately.

Ha…got my first and last ipsy bag this month, mine was not nearly as exciting as the one Liz received. I got an eyeliner brush that fell apart, a chemical-laden lotion, a pot of blue eyeliner that made my eyes irritated and my lids swollen 🙁
I think I am too sensitive to play with cheap makeup :/
But I LOVED my first Birchbox this month, no reactions to anything they sent me.

Is anyone else’s bag late this month? It’s the first time I redeemed more than one item but I normally have my bag by this time of tge month.

RIP Ipsy! It’s a sad day in our household. I’ve cancelled Ipsy. I originally got the subscription for my teenage daughter (17). But, over the last 3-4 months, I’ve noticed the bags piling up in her room. You know it’s bad when she doesn’t even bother opening them. Her take is that it’s just a bunch of cheap products. She has no desire in using anything they send. It’s gotten so bad, I can’t even give them away to her friends. So, it’s time to move on. In hindsight, this SHOULD be the perfect subscription for a teenager, trying to build her collection, experiment etc. But, it’s just not worth it. Just making room for Macy’s, I guess. I know she’d love that subscription, because it’s all recognizable brands, cool trends, and so on. So, RIP Ipsy. The ball’s in your court, Macy’s!?❤️ We’re ready, when you are…

I love my bag this month. I will use every item. I was surprised how much I like the lip crayon in Florence Fig. I haven’t tried the pumpkin mask yet but it smells very good. I also received be a bombshell eyeliner which I will try tomorrow along with the Smashbox mascara. This is only my 2nd bag and I’m loving Ipsy so far.

I liked the bag with one exception. The cap on the bottle wasn’t secure and the product spilled in my bag. Everything was saturated with it. I’m wondering if I should contact them for a replacement. Comments?

I can’t seem to get Ipsy?

This is one of my worst bags ever. The blush sheets are a joke, there’s just a couple in there. The lipstick is a bright red (keeping up with their hideous colors). Coolway, small size and I hate their products. Luxie shadow, it was ok but I have so many neutrals. And the Smashbox it’s pretty good, I’ve had several from them before.

It seems they don’t give their older subscribers the good items. I’ve never had too faced in my bag. I may give them a couple more months.

The value was there this month but it was very boring and uneventful….blah

Liz, would you be willing to share the answers to your profile? It would be awesome if I received a box like yours. I have adjusted my profile 3 times, written reviews on my products and have yet to receive a glam bag that I was excited about.

Am I the only one that is not loving / liking the bag itself? For me it’s one of the cheapest looking bag I’ve received so far… it’s just my opinion; and about the ModelCo trio not a fan either it has sparkles on it 🙁 I also received a brush but a different one and I’m really dissapointed, hairs fall out everytime a use it… definitely not a good one for me.

I’m absolutely disappointed with everything, but the bag. I have told them for months no, mascara, no eye liner, no lipstick, no nail polish. That’s exactly what I got. It’s not that I’m opposed to the those things, I just have a lot then they send me blah colors. I end up sending everything to my sister….including the bag in some months. My birchbox was on point and has been. I’m just not sure I can keep my subscription just to send it to my sister.

Omg I love that phone case? it is too gorgeous! I loved the bag as well this month! I haven’t recieved mine yet but it’s on the way, I cannot wait to get mine! I recieved:

Smashbox mascara, I have two full sizes of this one and love it!
Skin Inc pure revival peel, I love peels so I’m excited to see if it works.
J. Cat beauty eye pencil in black, I love black eyeliners so I’m not complaining!
I’m pretty excited to try everything but would have loved more makeup items! I’m still happy with it though especially for the price!

I received the same eyeliner and mascara, plus a Jelly Pong Pong highlighter, a Hey Honey scrub, and a TreStique lipstick in a pretty, semi-matte cherry red. I’m satisfied with everything. I’m generally satisfied with Ipsy, though. Even if all the samples are duds, which has never been the case for me, the bags are always cute and I find lots of uses for them.

This month looks AMAZING! I’m so insanely jealous of your bag!
