This is the most perfect fall box ever. I love the fall leaf confetti! Micki & Chad, the folks behind My Texas Market included a handwritten not, an information card, business cards for the artisans included in the box, and coupons.
They also included "The Gratitude Bag." The card on this bag says "Sometimes we forget how good we really have it. As we move toward the holiday season, we challenge you to use the Gratitude Bag to keep life in perspective. Each day, write something you are thankful for on a piece of paper and put it in the bag. On Thanksgiving, or New Year's, or when you're going through a difficult time, take the papers out and remind yourself of the blessings in your life. Challenge someone to do the same!
I love this idea, and I am going to start doing this! We all get to the point where the little things bother us more than they should, and I'm there now - this will help me keep in mind that I really have nothing to complain about! This was a perfect inclusion in a November box.
I really like that My Texas Market individually wraps items and includes plenty of packing materials to minimize breakage.
Here's everything at a glance - It all looks so good!
Garden Dreams Houston - Texas Apple Butter - $6.00
Garden Dreams Houston - Cranopeno Jelly - $6.00
Apple Butter is my favorite topping for toast and biscuits. I was so happy to pull this out of the box! My grandma and mom would can jelly and jams, and we made apple butter a few times. It's been a very long time since I've had some in my home, and this brings back happy memories!
This made me laugh when I pulled it out. I've been talking to several of my friends about candied peppers and candied pepper jams. I generally eat them with a bit of cream cheese and crackers. Another thing I eat with cream cheese and crackers is...cranberry sauce. This is the perfect fusion of the two, and I plan to serve it as an appetizer at my "Friendsgiving"!
Pecan Shop - Native Texas Pecans, Family Crispy Recipe - $7.00
These are a great addition to this box, but I do not appreciate pecans as much as many people do! I will be saving these precious (expensive) nuts for a friend. Poking around the Pecan Shop website, I learned a few things about Texas Native Pecans! It's worth a browse if you have a moment.
From Scratch Farm - Pumpkin Spice Brown Sugar Scrub - $10.00
I can only imagine that this scrub smells amazing...I just can't get it open right now! (Reason #347 I got married: live in jar opener and spider killer.) Most of the ingredients are things I would eat: brown sugar, olive oil, honey, vanilla, and spices. The pumpkin spice scent comes from a flavor oil. Can't wait to use this! It's in a glass jar, so I will use it on my hands and feet outside of the shower. I'm too clumsy to have glass in a slippery environment!
The Tiny Collection - Pumpkin Soufflé Candle - $11.00
This candle is all-natural and hand poured in small batches. It is 'clean burning' and the company is committed to using sustainably-sourced ingredients and never uses products that have been tested on animals. The Tiny Collection donates a portion of each candle purchase to the ASPCA. This candle smells amazing. I could eat it!
Benjamin Soap Co. Vanilla Chai Lip Gloss Tin -$6.00
This is being saved for a Christmas present for someone who I know will love it! I am so tempted to open it to smell it, but that would ruin it! Benjamin Soap Co. has a few flavors of these, and maybe if I ever get through my overabundance of lip product, I'll buy one!
The verdict: My Texas Market is my favorite box - there I said it! I've only gotten it twice so far, but I really love everything I've received! This month has a value of $46, which is over their promised value. They promise high quality, farmers market finds - they don't promise a very high value. They state that every month the value will be the same, if not higher, than what you paid. Both October and November have been above the box cost - which is great!
The curation and products from this box are just top notch. I love it!
What do you think about My Texas Market? Do you love it as much as I do?
