Every year, POPSUGAR and Neiman Marcus release a limited edition box - and every year I buy one! In general, I think it is a great way to get quite a few luxe gift items at a discount - or just a great way to gift yourself!

FYI - the Neiman Marcus POPSUGAR Must Have Box is still available for purchase.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

And of course, the packaging is always wonderful for these boxes!

And in case you are buying this box and planning to split up items into gifts, the good news is that everything comes in its own packaging:

The Cost: $250

The Products: 7 items total, with a total value of $650+. “Neiman Marcus and POPSUGAR have partnered together to make your holidays even more festive. We carefully curated our favorites of the season to bring you the best in fashion, beauty, home, and more! Limited quantities available.”

The box comes with a fold out card detailing each of the items included.

Eddie Borgo Small Chain Tassel Pendant Necklace - Value $125

This is the first spoiler we got for the box, and I like it a lot better in person than in the spoiler picture! Here is a better look at the detail:

It's a classic piece, and while I don't normally wear silver, I'm debating about keeping this one! It will make a beautiful gift, though.

Deborah Lippmann Nail Lacquer Set in Pop Life - Value $24

(Nail Polishes are regularly $18 individually)

Polish colors: A Fine Romance, Dark Side of the Moon, and Stairway to Heaven.

I love these shades! The pale pink shade has a subtle micro shimmer, and the Dark Side of the Moon polish is a gorgeous deep purple creme. Plus a top coat glitter polish is always festive for the holidays!

popsugar-must-have-neiman-marcus-2015-tray

Mela Artisans Tray - Value $130 Value

This might be my favorite piece in the box. It has a good weight to it, and it is very well made. The colors are a great neutral for our living room, and I love the natural variation in the individual pieces. (If you scroll down on this page you can see more about the process for making the tray).

Here is a closer look at the side:

Kevyn Aucoin The Look Book - Value $45

When it comes to subscription boxes, I think candles and palettes are my ultimate weaknesses! So, I was pretty excited when I saw this palette in the box! (Plus a few MSA readers had mentioned how great Kevyn Aucoin products are in the spoilers post!)

popsugar-must-have-neiman-marcus-2015-instructions

On the inside of the palette, there are instructions for both a natural and dramatic look. And here are the colors:

popsugar-must-have-neiman-marcus-2015-palette

The top four eye shadow colos: Shimmering Wheat (All over base), Soft Clay (lid), Bronze (Crease), and Coffee Bean (Liner).

Then two creamy glow blush options: Tresbelle and Tansoleil

And two lip glosses: Beaugonia and Tammabelle

Here is everything swatched:

(lip glosses, blush creams, then eye shadows).

I'm very impressed with the pigment! Plus I also love the sleek/luxe packaging of this palette too!

popsugar-must-have-neiman-marcus-2015-super

Super by RetroSuperFuture Sunglasses - Value $159

These glasses are a perfect example of why I love these special edition POPSUGAR boxes. Would I ever pay $160 for sunglasses? (No). But considering I paid about $35 for these - I'm thrilled. ($35.71 X 7 items = $250 total cost). I think they're a classic style I'll wear for a while too!

popsugar-must-have-neiman-marcus-2015-clock

RabLabs Cele Clock - Value $120

(This item had variation - I've seen several different colors on Instagram, swaps, etc).

I was originally thinking I would have preferrred to get one of the neutral colors, but I'm really happy with this bold blue color. (Maybe it's from subscribing to POPSUGAR for so long - a box without a cobalt blue item would feel weird!)

popsugar-must-have-neiman-marcus-2015-photo

This piece measures about 5 inches across and it can be used as a clock or photo frame. I think I'm going to place it somewhere in the house where light will shine through it - the stone is gorgeous!

Here is the back of the frame:

Vosges Organic Peanut Butter Bon Bons - Value $24

Another beautiful item to gift... but we totally opened it instead:

popsugar-must-have-neiman-marcus-2015-truffles

I had told my husband Eric to try these out and let me know how they were for the review, and the box is gone now - so I guess that's a rave review!

Verdict: I'm very happy with the Neiman Marcus POPSUGAR Must Have Box this year! When I think about the box in terms of $35 per item, I can justify the cost, and everything in this box feels special. I like their mix of beauty, home and fashion items too. I was hoping for a candle in this box since we got one in the 2014 and 2013 boxes, but maybe there will be one in the Special Edition boxes!

My clock arrived chipped/broken with several pieces of the stone missing. The pieces were not in the box, so it was mailed broken; it was not broken in transit. I promptly reported the problem, and was told PS would gladly replace the clock. Well, 2 weeks later I still haven’t received the replacement, and haven’t heard another word from PS. I am disgusted with the poor customer service, especially after what I paid for this box.

I’ve also read many reviews of the Special Edition Holiday for Her box, where the bracelet was missing from the box, the candles arrived broken, the candleholders were scratched, etc. What is wrong with their quality control? Liz, because you review the boxes, I think it’s no coincidence that you receive boxes with no flawed items. The rest of us aren’t as fortunate.

Just did mani-pedi with the Deborah Lipman collection – GORGEOUS! wouldn’t imagine how great the darker color was. Perfect! And the pink w/ sparkle – adorable.

I am selling my NM Popsugar Must Have Kevyn Aucoin Look book on ebay and I also added a black and white eyeshadow and two lip pencils to sweeten up the deal! I hope one of you is looking for this palette, it will be sold in just a few days!

BTW it is in swaps for sale for purchase on ebay. Not sure if that was obvious or not 🙂

absolutely nothing in a popsugar box is a must have spend your money contributing to a charity you will do more good in the world with that. now waiting for this comment to be erased and or deleted

Kp

Lol then why even buy material things. I know some sub donate but I also notice their subs are higher prices compare to value

Reply ButtonReply

.

weird.

Jenna

Have you considered that some of us do both? I enjoy giving to charity and I also enjoy subscription boxes. There is nothing charitable about thinking it’s okay to police how other people spend their money.

nana

Let’s take it as a given that we will all do much greater good if we live a spartan lifestyle and give away most of our earnings to charity.

But what’s the reason for making that particular comment about this particular item? Are you going around the web making identical comments under reviews of any and every non-essential item or is there something about this box that bothers you in particular?

Tia

posting a negative comment does no good for the world either.

This is a great box! I did not get it simply because I couldn’t afford the $250. And I too couldn’t afford to buy such luxe items at the individual prices and sub boxes give me the opportunity to try luxury items I wouldn’t buy for myself. Am really looking forward to the must have for her!

Vanessa

I absolutely LOVE the NM Popsugar box, This was the only reason I got into sub boxes!!!!!

Well, if anyone is in love with this box…it’s still available at $250.

Few thoughts:
I love getting the NM box every year. I can’t afford $600-700 for luxe items but I can afford $250 for that amount of retail. Like you said ~$35/item. I love getting items I could not afford otherwise.
1. The necklace is lovely. I love gold but this silver one will look so nice with just about anything. I have many long necklaces so I liked the shorter length on this one. It’s also a style that will last vs something too trendy.
2. I love how you put a pic in the clock! I’m taking mine to work. It will really brighten and class up my desk (I got blue as well).
3. The tray. Gorgeous and will make a great center piece for my dining room table. I’ll put candles, etc. in it. Love it.
4. Yes, Kevyn Aucoin is a legend in the makeup world. The palette is amazing and the shadow goes on like butter – very creamy and not dry or chalky with tons of fallout. The purple makes the best smoky eye. The shades are sophisticated and universal.
5. Candy. Shared 1 piece. Ate the rest.
6. Nail polish. Love DL but something I can afford anyway so I wasn’t as impressed but the colors are classic.
7. Sunnies. These are a classic style with a great fit (and I have a small face). They can’t be compared to Quay – the quality is much better and more comfortable.

This is such a LUX box. i have to say the items look so much better in person than in the pictures. the value is definitely there and for the things that i am not keeping for personal use, such as the nail polish, clock and pallet, they will make amazing gifts for my colleagues and friends at work.

How do the sunglasses compare to the Quay Australia ones we got from Pop Sugar last summer? I normally wear glasses and only occasionally swamp them out for contacts so I don’t really need more sunglasses, plus the Quay Australia and the one in the MizzFit box were both a bit large for me. Other than the sunglasses (which seem very odd for a winter box) the box is really stunning.

I thought this box was really nice and my favorite items were the tray, necklace, and clock! Oh and the bon bond were sooooo good!

I think the polish value listed is off though since the $25 Deborah Lippmann trio are the mini polishes and the polishes in this trio are all full sized.

I looked and couldn’t find anymore full sized trio sets or even the Pop Life set at all, so it would have been nice if the values were listed in the info book and we didn’t have to guess!

I really like the beauty and fashion items but the home items are such a miss for me. They look like things that would be in a model home and not in a good way. I was much happier with last year’s fancy designer goods – even the items I didn’t use were much better for gifting.

Ana

I’m very happy that the retail values are posted here. I’ve seen $199 in the swap thread for the sunglasses and $50+ for the nail polish trio.

I absolutely love this box and it’s just right for me. The only think I would change is the color of the clock! I am more into brighter colors and received a neutral brown gray color! If anyone would like to exchange just let me know!!!☺️☺️☺️ Otherwise this is an awesome box and I think it was curated quite well!

I love this box. Can anyone explain how to work the safety clasp on the necklace? I’m afraid to force it open and break it 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Elizabeth

I love agate and was hoping for a purple clock. I got a turquoise blue one, which is just gorgeous. I’m like to swap for a purple one, Liz’s shade (I know she said it’s blue but it looks purple on my computer). If no takers, I’ll just keep it because it’s really pretty!

Reply ButtonReply

Brooke

I got purple. I already threw out the packaging because I assumed I was keeping it, but turquoise would match my house much better. Email me if you’re interested despite the lack of packaging brooke.a.alexander at gmail dot com

I struggled with this too. You have to lift the hinge-claspy thing on the side and then pull the two pieces apart. You should be able to pull right at the point where there’s a little rectangle sticking out of the top. Hope that makes sense!

This was such a frustrating box for me. It’s got really great items, much of which didn’t work out for me, personally.

I already own the palette in the colors I received.

The necklace is beautiful, but too dainty for my non “dainty body.

The sunglasses are great quality but looked awful on me.

I don’t wear nail polish. (Although I have tried that brand and its GREAT.)

HOWEVER, I adore the tray and really like the clock. 🙂

Vanessa

Each item should be valued higher than $35 since the chocolates are only $24 at full retail price.

I love the clock, the tray and I’d be happy to try the chocolates. Nothing else is really for my taste. I’ve never gotten one of these and I’m not sorry to miss this one. However, most of the time I order the seasonal $100 boxes. And I’ve been happy with all the ones that I’ve purchased.

Vanessa

I just realized that the nail polishes are also only $24 at full retail.

These are full size polishes, not minis
