Blindbox Comics is a new (at least to me!) comic subscription box! They have 3 different purchase options - BlindBox, BlindVariant, or BlindBox + BlindVariant in month-to-month, 3, 6, or 12 month frequencies.

This is a review of the BlindBox + BlindVariant subscription!

I'm going to try something new starting with this Comic Book Subscription Box review. I'll be including the variant value from Midtown Comics!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Blindbox Comics Subscription Box Review December 2015 - packages

Everything comes very well protected. The Cardboard shipping package is really nice and secure. These are the second layer of protection for your comics - I love unboxing this one. Your comics are inside, bagged and boarded, and then in another plastic bag that holds them all together. Like I said, very well protected.

Blindbox Comics Subscription Box Review December 2015 - TMNT and Batman Europa

TMNT #52 - Value $3.99

Variant Value - $10

I LOVE this series. A lot. I wasn't sure where they were going to go with it after the epic issue #50. To be honest, I'm still not totally sure, this issue continues to help build the new narrative. Highly recommend!

Batman: Europa #1 - Value $4.99

Talk about highly recommending a comic. It's Jim Lee drawing Batman people. Not only that, this 4 issue run focuses on Batman and The Joker. I won't spoil anything, but check this one out!

Blindbox Comics Subscription Box Review December 2015 - Huck and James Bond

Huck #1 - Value $3.50

This one sounds interesting.

In a quiet seaside town, Huck uses his special gifts to do a good deed each day. His neighbors return the favors by keeping his abilities a secret. But when a newcomer alerts the media, a firestorm erupts, sending Huck on an adventure that will change everything. This brand-new series from writer MARK MILLAR and artist RAFAEL ALBUQUERQUE presents a comicbook unlike anything you've read before. Featuring a Feel-Good Movie variant cover by RAFAEL ALBUQUERQUE.

I believe issue #2 just came out, so this will definitely be worth diving into right now!

James Bond #1 - $3.99

Variant Value - $12.50

Surprising, I've never really got into James Bond. Which doesn't make sense, even to me!

Beginning “VARGR”, the first story in the ongoing James Bond comic series by best-selling writer Warren Ellis! James Bond returns to London after a mission of vengeance in Helsinki, to take up the workload of a fallen 00 Section agent. But something evil is moving through the back streets of the city, and sinister plans are being laid for Bond in Berlin...

Blindbox Comics Subscription Box Review December 2015 - Jacked and The Goddamned

The Goddamned #1 - Value $3.99

Jacked #1 - Value $3.99

I'm totally unfamiliar with both of these titles. Which is part of the fun of comic subscriptions for me! Both are recommended for mature readers only!

Blindbox Comics Subscription Box Review December 2015 - TMNT variant

TMNT #52 - Value $3.99

Variant Value - $21.99

I'm loving the variant add-on of this subscription! This month's featured variant was, again, an issue of TMNT #52. There were three possible variants, and all of them are totally awesome! Leonardo variant was limited to 1000 copies, April O'Neil variant was limited to 500 copies, and Vintage Leonardo variant was limited to only 100 copies! I love this April O'Neil cover, and I would definitely recommend adding the BlindVariant add-on to your subscription - it's so fun!

Verdict: This is only my second Blindbox Comics box, and I'm loving it so far. The titles last month were great, and they are great this month as well. I value these subscriptions for curation, but the variant cover issues are at a much higher value than I anticipated - so I'll be digging around for value of variants in all comic boxes moving forward!
