I thought I would write about my experience as well! I had filled out my profile right away and hadn’t heard back. I sent several messages and weeks later I was told that something in my profile (fragrances) needed to be changed so that I could be matched. I made sure to let Jen know what I had strong preferences against and explained that fragrances wouldn’t be an issue to fix. I changed it around and came across another issue, which I also fixed on my profile. After a few more weeks (mid January) I received an email notifying me of a charge for the following month in a week. I called several times without a response and had then emailed them letting them know I would not like to be charged without receiving my first months item. They sent me an email back explaining that I would not be charged, that email was sent on accident. I patiently waited until I received my email that I had been matched (a week or two later, end of January) and received my item shortly after. I cancelled my subscription the same day I received my match because it had 5 of the same ingredients I had a strong preference against – which was what I had put in my profile and what I had mentioned to Jen via email (alcohol). She cancelled my account for me and reassured me that I would not be charged and that I was no longer a subscriber. Now I am logging into my bank account and see that I was charged a week ago. Ugh so upset with their customer service.

I would just like to write about my experience- I signed up to try it out and after about 20-25 days I still had gotten no notifications of shipment and nothing in the mail. I have decided to cancel before even getting my first box, but you have to email customer service. Emailed them Thursday. No answer yet. My account is still listed as active. Hope things get cancelled because I don’t even want to mess with this company now.

After 3-4 days they did reply and stated they have cancelled my account.

I got mine last week, which was a surprise beyond imagination (3lab serum $130) and a perfect match! I’d have kept on subscribing if it weren’t for my amount of unused products. I emailed them about a seasonal subscription; they responded within 3 days, and cancelled my subscription for now without a problem. When my product stash mostly goes down to like halfway point, I’ll definitely resubscribe!

I just got my December pick today so they’re still sending them out. Send an email about it just to be sure. Also, anyone unhappy with their pick, you should definitely contact them and give them a chance to make it better π

I received my match today. It’s completely the opposite of my beauty profile and has nothing to do with my needs/concerns. I received a lash & brow growth serum even though I stated specifically in my profile I did not need or want either of those due to the fact that I already have thick brows and naturally long lashes. Disappointed. I contacted them already and I hope I can get an actual match. π

Ugh–sounds like a total miss. Let us know what they say! I had a good match, but how they respond to you will help me decide whether to continue the sub.

Mine STILL says Dec match coming soon. Should I contact them somehow or is this normal? I’m afraid I’ll be charged a couple of times and still not even have one, like beautyfix!

I got mine today- mybody Beat the Rush. I can’t complain because it was free and it retails for $85. But ok, I can complain! It’s for rosacea/redness, which are things that I said I had none of, so I can’t really understand how this is a match! I was prepared to keep subbing, but since it’s not a product that actually addresses my issues, I’m cancelling.

I signed up for the free month with the email I received from Beautybar.com. I got my first match today, 2 ounce Algenist Firming and Lifting Cream with a retail value of $94. The information card has a receipt on the back stating customer billed $25, but I didn’t see any charges on my credit card. There was also a separate card that states “Oh no! It’s your last month of perfect product matches. We’ve already found your perfect match for next month and we would hate for you to miss it! Keep an eye out – We’ll be sending you an email showing you how to continue your subscription.”
I had called earlier this morning to cancel, but no one answered. It was only a recording instructing callers to leave a message. I didn’t, but sent an email requesting to cancel. Several hours later they sent me a cancellation confirmation email. I will have to wait and see what happens.
What did you get?

I just logged onto their site and my match was there for me to see. It’s a Christie Brinkley eye cream. Not sure how I feel about this. I’ll give any brand a try I guess. I’ve never seen her brand sold in store, I think it’s prob like a qvc thing. I haven’t googled it yet.

It’s sold at Ulta, has been around for a while now too even in physical stores, at least my local Las Vegas one anyway.

Oh hey, mine’s in there, too. It’s Elysee Scientific Cosmetics Fountain of Youth Line Diminishing Gel. I’ve never heard of that brand, so I’m curious to try it! And from the description, sounds like it matches my profile.
Just checked the Elysee website, and it retails for $65! Sure, I’ll try that for free…

Mine shipped today!

I subscribed using this coupon! Very excited about what they’ll match me with. After I filled out my survey it said it takes about 5-7 days to receive my product. Is it really that quick? Do they send shipping info to you? Will they display your item online once they’ve matched you? Thank you!

Who doesn’t like FREE?!? But I’m wondering if I get the free deal today, if I will be charged for January tomorrow? Does anyone know what day they bill your subscription, or if I should sign up for the freebie and then cancel later today? Thanks Liz for the deal! π

To all the people wanting to test this out but don’t trust the company, you can do two things to make sure you won’t get charged until you know you want to keep this sub.
Option 1: Call your bank immediately after completing your profile and put this company on your “block all charges” list.
This option is for those who plan to use their regular CC or debt card. Let the bank know you recently signed up for a sample but you had to put your card info in to receive it. Let them know you’re doing this as a precaution and since the company isn’t supposed to charge you for this “free” trial, there should be nothing to dispute.
Option 2: Use a giftcard or prepaid Visa.
Pretty much self-explanatory. And make sure the amount on the card is less than the sub’s regular price. That way if they try to charge the card, they can’t because of “insufficient funds” (if using prepaid, make sure you get one that doesn’t do overdraft charges to avoid the charge going through regardless of available amount).
Hope this comment helps y’all! Be safe out there with your card info, peeps (^_^)

To all of those trying out this code. I did this a few months ago and cancelled as soon as it shipped. I was told in emails I was cancelled and would not receive any more matches. They charged me again the ne t month. Took many days to get a response and several deleted posts from Facebook. They said they’d refund the charge. Never refunded and still received another match. Said to keep match and refund my money. Still waiting for the refund. It’s been three months and no refund. Beware. This is not the first time they’ve come this to me even though they said it was a computer glitch, new program and some how my request was over looked, these are the excuses I received from them. A year earlier I cancelled after many months, same excuses and took two months of extra charges to cancel my sub. Not cool.

I just joined for the free box. How soon can I cancel? I can’t really afford this box but I’ve been dying to try it out.

Be very careful they don’t cancel easy. I was charged and then said to keep match and never refunded any money.

If we sign up today, will it be for the month of December or January? Just wondering if I choose to cancel, if I would have to cancel by the first week of January?

I signed up and it said it would my December match coming.

It looks like this is a skin care, hair care and body care (skin care-ish body care?) sub. Is that correct or do some of you who subscribe also get color cosmetics?
Reply
Liz Cadman
That’s correct – no makeup.

I’m a big beauty DNA fan. Just some advice: be as specific as possible and narrow down your choices as much as possible. I have gotten the best products on my account that is very specific to only wanting types of skincare, no hair care, etc… However, everything I have gotten has been great and a wonderful match for me.

I signed up because I wanted to try this subscription. I will cancel as soon as I receive my box because I can not afford to pay for it right now.

Be very careful they don’t cancel your subscription easy. I was charged another month one time and for two more months another.

I did this a few months ago when I got this offer. After I received my product and I went to cancel, I found a note on my account that said:
” NOTE: You have a 1-month subscription and your last beauty match is scheduled to ship during October 2015.
After your last beauty match is shipped, we will provide you with a link to sign up and continue receiving monthly beauty matches for $25 a month, with complimentary shipping.”
So I thought the subscription had not activated. Next thing I know, I’m charged for it. They gave me a refund after I e-mailed them, but beware that you should e-mail and cancel regardless of what you see on your account.

For those asking about when it refills, I pulled this from their FAQS “When will my credit card be charged?”
Each month, on the day your product ships out of our facility, you will be charged the $25 monthly fee plus any applicable sales tax. This charge will be applied to the credit card we have on file.- so I’m taking from this…it said after my profile for my mom was complete that it should ship out in a week or so …so I’m guessing it auto renews 1st weekish in February.

Went for it for my mom and myself. Hope we both like it and also hope it’s easy to cancel. Anyone have experience with canceling it? Also wondering what date I’ll need to cancel by to not get billed?

Horrid experience cancelling. I’ve tried beautydna twice and cancelled twice. Both times over a year apart received the same excuse for why I was charged even after I canceled in more than enough time and had email confirmation. Be very careful. Both times sent another match and said they’d refund the money but did not. Finally they stopped charging my card.

I’ve subbed and cancelled 4 times in the last 18 months and never had any problem. Just another experience to consider.

It seemed like a weird subscription, and I passed on the really great Black Friday promo, but when Beauty Bar sent me a coupon for a free trial month I finally caved. I’m impressed by the detailed profile. Hoping it’s a great match! If not, does anyone know the date to cancel in order to not get billed for the following month?
