Luxe Provence Box is new luxury subscription box service from France. They ship four times a year, and this is their second box.

FYI - this box ships from France via DHL. So you may get charged with custom fees, but I haven't had that happen yet.

Waiting for the Sun Brigette Sunglasses - $155

These are such a unique item! Here is a better look at the wood detail:

And they come with a thin wood veneer case too:

I think these are really special. I'm not sure the sunglasses shape is good for my face though, so these may end up getting swapped or gifted (sadly).

luxe-provence-dec-2015-scarf

Silk Scarf from Souleiado (colors will vary) - Value $76

This scarf is 100% silk:

(It measures 24" X 24"). This is another high-quality piece. I think I will use this as one of my mom's Christmas gifts since I know she will wear it a lot more than I will. (My standard outfits being more fabletics than formal!)

ZChocolat 15 Piece Sampler - Value $39

Wow - you know chocolate is special when it comes with its own bag and a pocket for a chocolate booklet:

(this gives details on each chocolate piece included).

And here is the actual chocolate:

Beautiful presentation, and another item that would be perfect for gifting!

Concept Provence Body Scrub in Parfum Calisson - Value $16

Concept Provence Hand Cream in Parfum Calisson - Value $10

Skincare products that smell like french candy? Yes, please! These smell so good! And they are paraben free! The hand cream is very rich and moisturizing, and I like that the scrub is made with shea butter and moisturizing as well.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $296. I think that's a good value especially considering that it includes shipping (and as far as I can tell so far, no extra custom fees). This definitely feels like a quality over quantity box to me, and I like it!

Liz, they no longer accept paypal, btw. Tarik wrote to me that they were having issues with it.

I paid $210 (don’t know why I didn’t get the earlier $175, plus I missed the $10 off by ONE DAY – they honored it for my next box). I didn’t really care too much for this box, esp for $210, but Tarik is AWESOME. Best customer service of any box out there. Like others said, sunglasses and a decorative scarf (rather than a winter scarf) was a little strange to me too. But I guess c’est la vie!

I really liked everything about this box. I am not normally a chocolate person but these were exceptional. The Camus quote and card made this box extra special for me. Can hardly wait to see what the next box brings.

Oops! I thought this was an Australian sub box.

I would consider buying this box just for the candies.

For those that have commented above, it is summertime in Australia now.

I swapped for the glasses (SO happy I could do that) and they are a thing of beauty. SO chic. But I’m not sure they look right on my face. I’m going to have to get some extra opinions to make sure I’m not just convincing myself they look good because I like them do much.

The price and the value are pretty much the same. I always want my boxes to give me value for the cost because there is often so much I cannot use. I know that they are probably a different approach than what we are used to but I need the value to be part of it since I am taking risk. Nearly subbed to this and I am glad I did not.

...

So far I think both past boxes (and the next one) have gone on sale for $195, so a value that’s $100 higher with free international shipping is still a good deal. (Of course, if you can’t use the items then it’s not a good value at any price; there are several subs I feel that way about.)

This box felt summery, but I loved it. I got the black sunglasses and a blue/green scarf. And the chocolates were delicious!

Julie

do you not consider the shipping it would cost to get these items from france?

Reply ButtonReply

nelliebelle1197

Yes. I ship internationally a bit since I have family in the South Pacific and all over the UK. I just sent much more than this to New Zealand for my nieces’ birthdays for $30. Shipping is not as expensive as one thinks. DHL for bulk mailing is cheaper.

Nothing seems special enough to be a mystery for over $200.

Heathery

This box screams summer to me. Sunglasses and a thin/small scarf? Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s a good box and obviously luxurious; it just seems like it was released in the wrong season.

I do love the chocolates from this box and also liked the other items a lot. The concept provence items smell like cinnamon buns! Still, for the price I prefer Oui Please. I just renewed my yearly to oui please and likely will not be renewing luxe provence. I actually going myself using my items from our please more.
