target-beauty-box-dec-2015-hair-food

Hair Food Dry Shampoo - 1.7 oz Value $5

This is sulfate and paraben free, goes on clear, and has a nice scent too! I'm a little overrun with dry shampoos at the moment, but I like this one!

Olay Regenerist Microsculpting Cream - .5 oz Value $10

This face cream has added fragrance, and I prefer my facial skincare products to be unscented, so I'm not sure that this is for me. The formula itself absorbs almost instantly and I liked how soft my skin felt after applying it. I'd say if you don't mind fragrance in skincare products, you'll probably like it!

target-beauty-box-dec-2015-goody

Goody Ouchless Sweat Stretch Elastics 3 ct - Value $.50?

These Goody Elastics seem to make their way into most Target Beauty Boxes! I think I'm good on hair elastics for a while, so these will go in the donation pile. (Of course, they would make a good stocking stuffer item too!)

target-beauty-box-dec-2015-cera-ve

CeraVe Eye Repair Cream - .08 oz Value $1.70

I think I'm most excited about the tiniest sample in the box! This eye cream is "Fragrance-free, Hypoallergenic, paraben, sulfate & phthalate-free Gluten-free and not tested on animals."

The formula is gentle, and I love that the full-size version is only $10.79 - I'll probably grab it on my next Target trip!

Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream - .6 oz Value $12.80

Laneige is another Target Beauty Box staple brand, and I like it! This cream is very hydrating and gentle. (FYI - it is scented as well. It's a light fresh floral scent).

target-beauty-box-dec-2015-mascara

Maybelline Push Up Drama Mascara - FULL SIZE! Value $7.50

target-beauty-box-dec-2015-mascara-tube

I wasn't too impressed with this mascara. It didn't give great lash definition at all, and there were clumping issues too. (I had to save it by adding a layer of Too Faced mascara!)

target-beauty-box-dec-2015-star-wars

CoverGirl Star Wars Lipstick in Red 30 - FULL SIZE! Value $6

I love that Star Wars is even in the beauty boxes this month! This Star Wars collection has 6 different lipstick shades - 3 on the Dark Side and 3 on the Light Side. From Target: "Discover your dark side with these looks and shades
Create the "Dark Apprentice" lip with Red #30."

The formula goes on so smoothly, and the color has a ton of pigment. (Swatched in last photo).

target-beauty-box-dec-2015-pacifica

Pacifica Love 3 Eye Shadow Trio - FULL SIZE! Value $10

I love the Pacifica brand for their ingredient-conscious formulas. "These colors are formulated without: Animal ingredients (including carmine, beeswax and lanolin), animal testing, talc, FD&C colors, mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, petroleum, propylene glycol, gluten, and peanut oil. 100% Vegan and cruelty-free."

One issue I've had with some Pacifica eye shadows is a lack of pigment. This trio is OK in the pigment department. I had to apply a few strokes to get the colors to show up:

target-beauty-box-dec-2015-swatch

I think this palette will be good for a natural "barely there" look.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $53.50! I think that's amazing for a $10 box, especially since this one always comes with a coupon I use. My favorite product is the CeraVe Eye Repair Cream, and I'll use everything with the exception of the mascara (and maybe the OLAY moisture cream).

What do you think of the latest Target Beauty Box? Were you able to grab one?

Except for the horrid mascara, I love everything in this box! At first I thought the lipstick looked awfully dark, but I applied a thin layer and it’s perfect with my skin tone. Very pleased. Good job, Target!

I bought both boxes. Yes, I like men’s box better but the women’s box is nice. I was excited for the Star Wars lipstick. However, I received #30 as well. I love the color but not good for this very pale girl.

I got both the men’s and women’s box. When I opened the women’s I was disappointed to see that I did not have a lipstick! I called customer service and they said it is unavailable and they gave me a refund. Still sad because I was really excited to try it!

I got the Men’s box a week ago. My Women’s box has been sitting in the Shipping Partner facility since the 5th and has not moved.

Mlcosson

Same thing here. Got my men’s box on 12/07 and still waiting on women’s. I ordered 2 women’s boxes that I received a different shipping email for, but the email showed the same tracking number as the men’s box. I’m going to wait one more day for them to show up and then call.

Reply ButtonReply

Andrea

Mine, too. This is what happened to me last time I ordered a men’s box and it never came. I would suggest calling Target for a refund if it doesn’t come in a few days

Amber

This was my first Target box and I’m quite pleased! No I didn’t need another dry shampoo to add to my pile but aside from that I’ll get use out of everything.

I must be the only one who likes the eyeshadow. I think it has nice build able coverage and it lasted me all day. The mascara will go on the back shelf with the rest of my unused mascaras (I like the mini sized ones and have a few of those open now), I’ll gift the lipstick because I don’t wear it and everything else will get used by me! For $10…I’m quite happy and will be more on the lookout for future boxes!

CMB

Liz, I’ll gladly take those Goody elastics off your hands, lol!

I was so excited to grab one of these boxes (due to my own insomnia), and I will probably use almost everything except maybe the lipstick (pretty dark for me, will likely gift) and the mascara (depending on the reviews, will also give away to someone before using).

The elastics, shadow colors, and the face products were all super exciting, because they are things I would have purchased anyway. All other elastics get caught in my frizzy hair, and these are the best I’ve found!

I was so disappointed in the mascara. I’ve worn it three days now and it clumps and falls onto my face. I usually use Clinique but I was out and so I was so excited to get this. could it be that it’s old or expired?

I love the Target boxes, and this one was great! I was disappointed that the CeraVe eye cream in mine was empty! There was a small smear of it on the inside of the tube, but I could feel it was almost empty and when I held it up to the light, it was confirmed. I’m also not so happy that there is no recourse when this happens with the Target boxes. That said, even without the eye cream, the value of this box is incredible!

sharon keegan

I bought two of these boxes, and both eye cream tubes were full of air. I think this is a CeraVe problem, not a Target problem.

Reply ButtonReply

Rebecca

I just checked mine and the one I bought for my sister. They both have almost nothing in there. I see that the volume is 0.08 fl oz, so obviously it’s not meant to be a lot, but the tube can hold much more (probably close to 0.3 oz as compared to a sample tube of something else). The size of the tube is misleading, and to get the most product out of it, a foil packet might have been a better call, especially since it seems like you won’t get more than a couple of uses out of it.

Rebecca

Really? Wow. I would contact Target Customer Service about it. When I get home I’m going to check mine because I didn’t really look at it.

Reply ButtonReply

Rebecca

I was so pleased with what came in this box, and I’m glad I was able to snag one for my sister, too! We both got the same lipstick as Liz got, which I was grateful for. I would have had to run out and do an exchange, and when it comes to Christmas shopping, I try to avoid shopping in person if I can help it 😉 I bought the men’s box for my husband, and he was actually excited about it. It’s hard to get him excited about anything (well, except, you know…), so I think Target hit the nail on the head with this round of boxes!

Just a note that I *love* Cerave products – my two sons and I have eczema that can become severe during the winter, and Cerave has been a fantastic product for us. I love that, unlike Eucerin’s Original Moisturizing Creme (which used to be my go-to), it’s not greasy at all. It’s so light yet works so well. So I haven’t tried this Cerave product yet but have high hopes for it.

I have also used the Olay creme, which is good, except a few years ago all unscented Olay products started smelling like burnt something-or-other. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but suffice it to say that I don’t like the smell. I get that not having a scent is a good thing, but then it shouldn’t smell bad, you know? However it is not strong, and I only notice it when I apply it, so no big deal.

I have a ton of mascaras, so that’s going in the drawer for later use, and I’m giving away the dry shampoo. I suspect my sister will, too, and I have a friend who will gladly take them. Still a great deal if you take that item out!

Rebecca

Oh, and the coupon was great, too 😀

Abby

I was sad because I missed out on this one but luckily Target is releasing them often so on to the next one!

Reply ButtonReply

Karen

I got the women’s and the men’s boxes and I couldn’t be happier with them. I thought that they were a great deal and Liz added up the value so it’s more than worth it. Some of the things will go for gifting and others I will keep, I love the boxes so will be waiting for the next time to roll around!

Lori

I think think I am the only person on this site who has not gotten a dry shampoo in a box yet. And I’ve been subscribing to Birchbox and Ipsy since July, Glossybox since November, and I have picked up a few Target and Walmart boxes here and there. Ha ha.

Reply ButtonReply

Gigi

Just got mine yesterday as well as the mens and i love them both! Can’t wait to try everything out. Well worth the price!

Reply ButtonReply

Marie

Did everyone got the red lipstick #30?

Reply ButtonReply

Randi

I got 6 boxes (they make such good gifts!) and they all have #30 – I was hoping for at least 1 or 2 to be different bc I would prefer the lighter pinkish one. But I think someone said previously that you can take it into a Target and exchange it for a different color.

Reply ButtonReply

Gig

That is the one i got which i am glad i did since i was not excited about the gold one shown on the photo.

AmyM

I’m always satisfied with the Target boxes, even if everything isn’t a home run. I’m bummed the mascara is clumpy, but still excited to try that new brush. Lots of good stocking stuffers, too. Does anyone else think it’s odd they also call the men’s box a “beauty box?” I’m thinking “grooming box” would be more appropriate.

Reply ButtonReply

Randi

I always love the Target boxes too – the things I won’t use I either give away or donate. The actual boxes are awesome too!

And I really wish they would have a different box or label for the men’s – especially at this time of year – I feel a little weird giving men something that says “beauty box”. But I think the items in the men’s boxes are a great value… Maybe I can put some Christmas sticker or label or something over it to cover up the “beauty” party

Reply ButtonReply

Dea

But think of all the teasing opportunities! My husband loved his (first) beauty box so much, he immediately took a bath and tried out all the goodies.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna Marie

Awww that’s adorable! aren’t men the cutest things sometimes 🙂

Bernice

How do you know when it will be released? I don’t ever see a “heads up” email from Target.

Reply ButtonReply

Ariana

If you get the daily emails from MSA, they warn us ahead of time! =)

The lipstick looked glittery when I looked it up on various websites. How’s the shimmer/glitter? It is wearable? I would LOVE to own a Star Wars lipstick! But, not a fan of glittery lipstick. Thanks for your help!

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

There’s a little shimmer to it, but I think it is totally wearable!

Reply ButtonReply

Heather P

Thanks! I think I’m going to grab the red before it is gone!

Alexis

I loved this box, the day it came online I was about to buy the Olay cream for 10 dollars anyway and now I have so so much more for the same price 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Kay

Another great review by Liz. I love it when you include ingredient lists which saves me time and be aware of anything I watch out, etc. I got the same red color lipstick. Other dark options were dark plum and silver. I wonder if anyone receives silver… I actually tried dry shampoo for the first time, thanks to sub boxes, and I liked it. It kept my long hair from drying out and scalp from becoming oily when I don’t want to wash it. I am excited to try everything else from the box.

Just FYI for those who ordered both men and women boxes. Men’s box is larger than women. I thought it was the other way around and opened men’s which was for gifting. I wish they make the box different or even put a sticker on men’s.

Reply ButtonReply

Dea

Agree with Liz that the box was an awesome value and full of highly-usable items. I love the light scents of the Laneige and the Olay. Also agree that Pacifica eyeshadows give little color payoff. So glad I got the red lipstick – some of those Star Wars shades were too weird for me LOL.

Reply ButtonReply

Misty

I agree that many of the Pacifica eyeshadows have little color payoff, but for anyone interested, I have their “solar palette” and it has great payoff. Love it. I also have a smaller set of four shadows in round pans and in a column maybe it’s called “enchanted”, or “mystic” , and it has great payoff too. I would recommend both.

Reply ButtonReply

Dea

Thanks Misty! Good to know, since I like the Pacifica brand otherwise.

Erica

I paid $10 for my box. Got the mens box as well. My total for both was $15.90. Mine should be arriving soon.

Evilen

You should try applying for the target debit red card(not the credit card) the money comes right out of your bank account but works like your debit card but only for target store it saves you 5% online and freeshipping. I use it for these boxes and sales all the time to save me money.

Lori

Nothing really stood out to me. Glad I passed.

Me too!

I received my Target beauty box yesterday and I’m excited about everything in it! Still wanted of my favorite beauty boxes.

Reply ButtonReply

Kenyata

Still one of my favorite….Lol

Reply ButtonReply

Tiffany

This box costed $15, not $10. I was REALLY disappointed in the size of the eye cream because based on the promo images, I expected it to be full size, and it was the reason I purchased the box. I’m not thrilled with anything else. Not my favorite Target box.

Reply ButtonReply

brandy

no it did not, it was only $10.

Reply ButtonReply

Caitlin

I agree with the eye cream. I zoomed in on the promo picture and it clearly shows a 0.5 oz product. But for $10
I guess I can’t complain ?

Reply ButtonReply

Cassandra

Yeah, the promo pic definitely shows a full-sized eye cream so that was a big disappointment for me. I love Cerave products and was so psyched to get a full-size. I wish Target would be a bit more honest in their promo photos for these boxes.

Alexis

Not sure how yours cost 15, mine was 10, 10.75 when taxes were included

Reply ButtonReply

CMB

Agreed, I was a little disappointed that the CeraVe wasn’t full-sized, but I’m happy I get to try this product out before purchasing.
Mine was only $9 (plus tax, so ~$9.50) because of the 10% off SHINE beauty product discount… didn’t everyone use that? It was right on the product page = super easy.
Either way, I had a Target GC that I used, so this was a nice little gift to myself 🙂 Not too bad for $50 in products, many of which I would have bought anyway.

My bad. I was thinking of my total not including what I paid for the men’s box. I still wasn’t impressed by the women’s box though. The men’s had better items and was a better value in my personal opinion.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

I agree the men’s is a lot better. I regret getting this one. Oh well.

Dea

The box cost $10. Did you buy the men’s box at the same time?

Reply ButtonReply

Lily

This box actually cost $10, maybe you added the men’s box? I did and they shipped them separately. The product samples always look big in the promos; I now check the actual sizes before bien order to avoid disappointments.
