This box comes with a card detailing all the items included.

birchbox-strong-start-bkr

bKr Bottle - Value $35

(This bottle comes in Lavender or Mint)

I did not realize how much I would love this bottle until I had it in front of me! It is definitely the prettiest water bottle I've ever seen. The purple part is food-grade silicone, and the rest is glass. Everything is BPA and phthalate free, plus it is top-rack dishwasher safe!

birchbox-strong-start-bottle

The other thing I love (and this might just be me), is that the part where you drink from is completely covered by the cap. Some other bottle designs don't always do this, and it seems a little unsanitary to me!

birchbox-strong-start-argan

Acure Unscented Argan Oil Cleansing Towelettes - Value $7

I love the Acure brand, and I've used these towelettes before and they are great. (Plus I love that Acure is an expensive natural line!)

Eyeko Sport Waterproof Eyeliner - Value $20

I've tried the Eyeko Sport Mascara before and the "Sport" part means "almost impossible to remove." In a good way if you want to sweat and go all day without any smudges, etc! This eyeliner is still swatched on my wrist as I write this review and will stay there until I find some industrial strength eye makeup remover! 😉 (Swatched below)

The formula goes on very smoothly and the pigment is great - just don't mess up application, because it dries quickly too.

birchbox-strong-start-supergoop

SuperGoop Defense Refresh Setting Mist - 1 oz Value $8.20

This was in the July 2015 POPSUGAR Must Have box, and I really like it! One very important tip for using the product - make sure to shake it a lot before every spray. It gives a matte finish, sets makeup, and has SPF 50 - definitely a good multiuse product for a gym bag!

ARROW Boost Color Enhancing Lip Balm - Value $14

ARROW is Birchbox's latest in-house brand, and I've wanted to try it ever since it was announced. (The entire line is vegan, paraben-free, cruelty-free, and gluten-free). I am super impressed with this lip balm! It gives a very glossy finish and the color enhancing part worked really well with my skin tone. The overall look was some color, but natural looking. Here is the lip balm up close:

The formula is designed to adjust to your pH for the perfect color. Here it is swatched working with the pH of my wrist:

Klorane Dry Shampoo – 50 ml (Travel Size) Value $9

I have received Klorane Dry Shampoo a lot in subscription boxes over the years, so while I’m no longer excited to see it in a box, it is a great product and will be used eventually! (It is a great item for a gym bag, though, so I can't hate on the curation too much).

Whish Shave Crave Shaving Cream in Pomegranate - 50 ml - Value 6.70

Another good staple! This shave cream smells really good, and is paraben free!

birchbox-strong-start-bombas

Core Custom Fit Earbuds - Value $20

If you get a lot of subscription boxes, you may be in earbud overload at the moment like me! These are a little different than most though - they come with various earbud sizes so you can get a perfect fit for you ears. (Pictured below, opened).

Bombas Ankle Socks - Value $11

These will come in either pink or blue. I am a fan of Bombas socks thanks to subscription boxes. They are well constructed, have arch support, and for every pair purchased, Bombas donates a pair!

birchbox-strong-start-earbuds

And here are the two deals I took advantage of with this purchase:

free mystery sample pack on orders of $35 or more and I used coupon code GRIPSOCKS to get a free pair of Pointe Studio Grip Socks ($12 Value):

birchbox-strong-start-bonus

Verdict: This box has a value of about $131 (Not counting my extra bonuses). I think that is awesome for a $45 box! (And the box itself is gorgeous - definitely a keeper for storage!) My favorite discoveries are the bKr bottle and the ARROW Lip Balm, but I'll use everything!

What do you think of the Birchbox Limited Edition: Strong Start Box? Did you buy one? (This box is still available for purchase).

If anyone would like to sell their headphones, please let me know!

Marah

I do! I just ordered my box but I don’t need the headphones.

After read and read your post I finally decided order this box! Thanks so much for the mystery pack reminder lol I used some points 20 and my December coupon (10) and 20% off so I only paid 6!!! Great deal I’m so excited

That is an AWESOME deal! Hope you love everything in the box 🙂

Thanks for the review! Do you add the mystery pick 2 to your cart and then see it go down to $0 with checkout?

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda

Yes, that’s what I saw

Initially I didn’t give this box a second look, but after looking at the review, I caved. There’s no one item that I’m super pumped for but I will happily use all the items in this box. For $16 after coupon and points, it’s on its way!

Sarah

Can anybody tell me what size the water bottle is please?

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda

This one is 16 oz. They also have a 32 oz on the site.

Laurie

Your review sold me. I don’t actually *need* more water bottles and headphones, but somehow I can never *find* a water bottle, and I would do anything for more Bombas. Add in the $20 in points I used, and the free grippy socks, and I’m a happy girl!

Thank you for the review, Liz! Lovely items! I had a year’s subscription and didn’t resubscribe, but I had some points left and used one of the codes to save additional $ and I added the mystery sample pack – always a good reminder! To be honest, I didn’t make good use of the points system because I rarely reviewed anything, but I still got some excellent $ off incentives with the points I did have. Now I’m wondering if I should resubscribe and REALLY utilize the reviews/points. It really seems worth it that way… decisions, decisions… 🙂
Thank you, as always, for your dedication to bringing us great and helpful information!!! <3

I wholeheartedly recommend it! $5-$6 a month in their shop is $60+ a year! I always wait until I have about $40-50 in points, then use an extra good coupon code (like 30% off) and go crazy! So I got this LE box, a $20 eyelash curler, and a candle, used a 30% coupon code they gave me since it’s my 30th box, put $50 in points towards it, and paid a grand total of 67 cents! 🙂

Nice!!

Liz Cadman

So happy to hear the review was helpful! 🙂

The Birchbox points/reviews system is definitely the best in the subscription box world. You should end up with $60 to spend at the end of a year subscription, and if you sign up for the annual subscription up front that’s $110, ($10 savings) plus an additional 110 in points… so $70 from points for spending $110 for a year.

Just remember to review your box by the 9th of each month or you miss the points! (We do a reminder post for that too).

Still waiting for my box to show up 🙁 How were you able to use the gripper sock coupon? I tried to use it and it would not allow it with the use of take20.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Birchbox doesn’t allow stacked coupons, so I just used the gripper sock coupon. Hope that helps!

Reply ButtonReply

Amanda

I received mine earlier this week and just used the TAKEOFF10 and $10 in points to get another for $25. I really like this box and will use everything, except the dry shampoo & eyeliner, which I can gift. I ran with the earbuds morning in freezing rain and snow flurries and really liked them. I’m pretty hard on my earbuds and needed a new pair, so now I’ll have a backup. I’m also excited for the water bottles, can’t wait to have 2, hope I get different colors though. Anyone on the fence, buy the box!! I really think it is worth it!

Reply ButtonReply

Haley Faye

I really just want the water bottle, but it’s $35. And this whole box is $45, much less if I use points and/or coupo codes. Not sure I can resist much longer. ;]

Reply ButtonReply

Laura B.

Haley, resistance is futile. I bought 2 boxes for the water bottle, the socks, and the lip balm. 🙂 The rest, I probably will donate.
Those three items are worth more than the price of the box and I love them even more in my hands than I did in the photos and descriptions. 🙂
I don’t see how anyone who exercises or just drinks water ( ha ha, we all do) could go wrong with buying this box. Free shipping and at least one add on bonus. My mystery packs were half usable too- a theBalm lip gloss in a very pretty color and a WellPeople slightly shimmery setting powder.
I won’t use the hair conditioner or the Dr. Brandt cleanser from the mystery packs as my hair is too thick and long and I use Paula’s Choice products on my face, and it’s made all the difference this winter. No more dry or flaky skin. 🙂
Still, I think they tried this time to put better mystery sample packs together.

So the Arrow balm is full sized? I wondered, birchbox listed it as sample. I’m super excited to get mine either way! The water bottle and the arrow balm are what convinced me!

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Yes just double checked, it is .14 oz, the same size listed on the site. Mine didn’t come with inside any packaging though, and the full size one on the site shows it in a box, so maybe that’s why they couldn’t technically classify it as the full-size version? Hope that helps a little!

Keebler

I bought one tonight as well…*sigh*…couldn’t hold off any longer…my first Birchbox purchase! 🙂 Signed up last night for the monthly subscription so I could earn points on my purchase…first box next month!

Reply ButtonReply

Keebler

First Ipsy box next month as well!

Are there supposed to be pics of the bonus socks, the Klorane and the Whish shave cream? I just see a repeat of the wipes and liner in both areas. I’m curious about the gripper socks.

Reply ButtonReply

Liz Cadman

Yes, that is so weird! All pictures are showing up correctly for me. If it isn’t too much hassle, can you try viewing the review in a different browser, and let me know if you still have the issue? Thanks! Sorry about that!

Maribel:)

Of course, I love it now 🙂

Hi, what’s the men’s fittness bundle? The link doesn’t work, I’m thinking I might have to buy this box. It looks pretty good, I’ll have to check how many points I have stored. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

bunnygirlbrem

Had to get it. Your review threw me over the edge. 🙂 I need a new water bottle and towelettes, love color-enhancing balm, can use the earbuds and socks as gifts, and can swap the rest! Thanks as always!

Reply ButtonReply

Chantel

I too bought this based off your review Liz, (or the one too many margaritas I was drinking last night 😉 ) you made everything sound amazing 🙂 thanks for the coupon codes and reminder for the sample pack. This was my first ever birchbox purchase!

Reply ButtonReply

Bella

Same here, once I saw the review (and the $10 off coupon) I couldn’t wait any longer so I got it.
I used my points+the coupon and got it for only $28 so I’m very happy!
Plus I’ll use everything but the eyeliner, which I’ll just gift, and everything looks great!

Reply ButtonReply

blessedmommi

Hi Bella,
What $10 off code did you use? That might motivate me to purchase now 🙂

Haley

Got mine yesterday and love it! I got the same variations as you and am wearing the socks today and they’re awesome. Overall, great box (plus, I got a full-sized ModelCo lipstick in my pick two, yay!)

Reply ButtonReply

Karen

I just ordered mine today. The bottle alone is worth it. I already own one and its the only water bottle use. I love that it is not plastic. The cover really does protect it from breaking.

Reply ButtonReply

K8

I’ve thought about getting this box, but I’m worried that the socks won’t fit me (I’m a women’s size 10…but slowly creeping up on an 11). Which is just one item, but I need socks more than setting mist!

Reply ButtonReply

Doclauren

I wear a 10 and I’m wearing the socks right now! Go for it!

Reply ButtonReply

Ake

I looked it up, and their website says that medium fits shoe sizes 8-11.5. Bad news for me, but good for you!

Reply ButtonReply

laura_brooks

Ake, I don’t know what size shoes you wear, but I wear a size 7 and I can also wear the socks just fine. As far as I’m concerned, they are pretty much OSFA.

Brooke

I ordered this box and was so excited to get it. Ups said it was delivered to my door but it never was and I am very upset 🙁
