The Walmart Beauty Box is a quarterly subscription box from Walmart. They feature brands you will find at Walmart, plus coupons.
FYI – I believe they ask for your birthday at sign up to customize the box based on age. (There may be other reasons for box variation as well). For reference, this is a box for a 30-year-old.
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).
The Box: Walmart Beauty Box
The Cost: $5 (ships once a season)
The Products: Beauty samples from brands carried by Walmart. (I’m guessing coupons too).
Ships to: US only
Delivered via: USPS

NSPA Exotically Creamy Coconut Rich Body Butter - 1.7 oz Value $1.40
This body butter is paraben-free and very moisturizing. It has a nice beachy coconut scent, but it fades pretty quickly.
Aveeno Skin Relief Gentle Scent Lotion + Body Wash - 2 oz total Value $1
I think these are Jennifer Aniston's and my favorite items in the box! The scent is Nourishing Coconut, and it is described to be as gentle as fragrance-free. I think the scent is very subtle, and the formulas feel gentle, so they've succeeded in my book!
Pantene Hairspray Extra Strong Hold - 1 oz Value $.50
This is a good basic to have on hand. It provides a good hold, but does leave your hair a little crunchy.
Goody Slideproof Soft Touch Silicone Elastics - Value $3?
Oh my goodness - I can't stop touching the grippy parts of these hair ties! My weirdness aside, these are useful!
L'Oreal Total Repair 5 Shampoo Conditioner + Damage Erasing Balm - Samples
This shampoo is made with sulfate. I have to avoid that ingredient since my hair is color treated, so this packet will be donated.
Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer in Coconut Oil and in Monoi Oil - Samples
This product is meant to be applied post-shower on wet skin. It's an interesting formula - sort of a cross between a gel and a lotion. I wasn't crazy about the scents, though.
And every box also includes a decent amount of coupons!
Verdict: This box has a value of about $7. I think that's OK for a $5 box considering that these samples are from drugstore brands, so the values are going to be lower. (This is no Target Beauty Box, though!) I'll keep subscribing since it is $5 a quarter, and I've seen some boxes on Instagram I'm jealous of - I'll keep waiting for a better box!
Also worth mentioning - wondering how Walmart ships their boxes out?
Sadly - it is pretty sporadically. (But at least, it gave me a way to sneak Clueless into a blog post). From what I can tell subscribers have been receiving this box throughout December (check out #walmartbeautybox on Instagram). So, it would appear boxes ship out in waves and vary in samples significantly.
In fact, on December 4th, I got this somewhat weird email from Walmart Beauty Box:
I guess this was their way of proactively letting some customers know they didn't forget about them?
Anyway, for $5 maybe I can be OK with knowing that I'll get it when I get it! 🙂
What do you think of the Winter 2015 Walmart Beauty Box? What items did you receive in your box?
