Studio Calico Kits

If you aren’t familiar with Studio Calico, they offer Stationery ($22.99 a month with 6-month commitment), Planner ($22.99 a month with 6-month commitment), Scrapbook ($37.99 a month with 6-month commitment), and Project Life ($27.99 a month with 6-month commitment) monthly subscriptions.

They recently had a first-box-for-a-dollar offer (if you signed up for a 6-month subscription), so I decided to go for the Stationery kit!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

This box comes with an info card detailing the color theory inspiration for the month.

You'll Do Flat Card

Happy Beard Day Folded Card

I know it is in jest, but the You'll Do card still feels a little harsh to me! The beard card works for my husband, though - I don't think I've ever seen him without a beard!

Pink Twine on Veneer Card

Movable Bird Wing Tags

Grey Heart Stickers

I like that they include embellishments with each box! These gold winged swans are pretty cute, too!

You're So Sweet Folded Card

Hooray! Folded Card

Both of these cards are blank inside and great for lots of uses - exactly what I want in a card subscription!

Hugs not Ughs Folded Card

Emoji Folded Card

More cute cards! The Hugs not Ughs card is blank inside, and the Emoji card says, "Thanks!"

Mr. Darcy Folded Card

Happy Birthday Card

I should mention that this arrived before Valentine's Day, I'm just a little behind in getting this review up! The heart on the card on the right is actually a scratch off - and the message "Happy Birthday!" will be revealed when you scratch it off with a coin!

calico-feb-2016-tape

Pen Pal Washi Tape

I love this tape for sealing cards! It includes the phrases:

  • Sending good vibes
  • Just a little something
  • Open me!
  • Careful! Something adorable inside
  • Write back soon!
  • Saw this and thought of you

Verdict: I'm really happy with my Studio Calico Stationery Kit subscription. The cards are usually great for general use, and the extras are always cute and fun.

I can't help but compare this box to Happy Mail for my verdict. I think they both are a good value for the price (with the discount this box cost me about $19). If you're looking for more of a variety from card designers, I would recommend trying this subscription. (Or I'd recommend subscribing to both Studio Calico and Happy Mail if you are like me and love gettings lots of cards and paper goodies each month!)

I love the stuff I receive from Studio Calico. The grab bags are great! And the customer service is actually really good.

Ate these cards all electronically printed? Any letter press or texturing at all? I am looking for a replacement for happy mail and am not sure I could justify the cost of this one if the quality isn’t any better than hm.

Sounds like a great package! So much fun! Imagine curling up with it, and writing “thinking of you” cards to good friends.

The info card has clearly been written by someone who has not been to Savannah in the past twenty years. The colors of Savannah are mostly black and gray. That represents the broken asphalt of the terribly-unmaintained roads. It’s a huge commercial port, and the thousands of trucks that haul shipping containers around it each day really do a number on the infrastructure. Avoid Interstate 16 like the plague. The air smells of estuary water. Guess I’ll never land a job with their tourism board.
