Lucky Dog Brown Label Hot Sauce - $6.99
This is really good hot sauce. Monthly Pepper Box describes it as a medium heat chipotle sauce with mustard, chipotle, cumin, bartlett pear juice and figs. It is excellent, and I can imagine it being delicious on anything. It almost tastes like there's some brown sugar in there as well. It's so good, I'm going to have to find ways to eat it. I am probably an average person when it comes to heat levels, and I found that it wasn't too spicy to enjoy!
Lucky Dog Green Label Hot Sauce - $6.99
Another really delicious hot sauce. This one is roasted jalepeno, serrano, cayenne, and roasted garlic. I tend to prefer green hot sauce over any other, and I think this will be my new go to for eggs, tacos, chips...anything. It's excellent! Again, I didn't find this too hot to enjoy.
Lucky Dog Orange Label Hot Sauce - $6.99
This is described as habaneros, serranos, jalepeno, and cayenne with carrots and garlic in a 'mellow cider vinegar.' I could definitely pick up the vinegar in this sauce. It's not nearly as strong as in say, Tabasco, but there's definitely a vinegar flavor. I enjoyed this one as much as I did the others. It was a little hotter to me, but it was also the third I tried, so maybe the heat was catching up!
Verdict: I LOVED all of the hot sauces I received in this shipment. I've never heard of Lucky Dog before, but now I'm wondering why?! All of the flavors were excellent, and when you're used to only using the standard, run of the mill hot sauces, this stuff really shines. I can imagine using these on any and everything in the next few months. As far as value goes, the three items come out to about $21.00, which covers the box cost, but not shipping completely. Even still, I think this is a decent value, and I really love that I was introduced to a new, smaller company that makes excellent hot sauces! I can only imagine how well these would go over as hostess gifts!
